Chapter 59
Chapter 59 You Made Me So Angry Initially, Clarissa had planned to spend the night in her dorm.
But now that she had Icalced her marriage with Damlen to the rest of the company, she needed to pay the liquidated damages. Not only did she lose five million dollars in a slash, but there was also a chance that she had to pay extra money to compensate for her blunder.
In order to survive, she had no choice but to apologize to Damien When Damien reached his car, he noticed Clarissa standing next to the vehicle.
He paused for a moment. "What's the meaning of this, Miss Johnson?" "Mr. Lawrence, I spent the night in my mother's ward last night since the caretaker was unable to take on all the duties on her own. As he daughter. I need to fulfill my responsibilities too, right?" Clarissa squeczed out a rigid smile.
"So?" Damien pulled out a stick of cigarette and started smoking it, leaning casually against the car as he did so.
"I'm worried that Grandpa might worry about my absence last night, so I'll go home with you right now."
"What do you take the Lawrence residence for? What do you think I'm here for? You think you can just come and go as vou please without telling anyone beforehand?"
If this were to happen in the past, Clarissa would have a thousand reasons to retaliate, Right now, she was the one at faull.
She had broken the contract, which meant she would suffer a great loss. After all, Damien held the rights to the contract.
Clarissa could only look down at her feet. She didn't say anything in response, making her look very pitiful to Damien.
Damien continued to smoke while gazing down at her from above. "If I were to let you return now, wouldn't tliat diminish this incident and make it seem like nothing? At least make an oath to me. For example, you must inform me beforehand if you wish to leave the house."
Clarissa thought for a while before lifting lier hand. "I swear that if I plan to leave the Lawrence residence in the future, I need to tell Mr. Lawrence beforehand and obtain his permission before leaving."
"And...?
"And what?" Clarissa was astonished.
"And you won't go around seducing other men."
"I didn't do that!" Clarissa looked very nervous. Why must Damien resort to such decisive words like seduce?
Damien snuffed out the cigarette and threw it to the ground. Then, lie turned around and moved to enter his car.
It was sign language for "We're done here."
"Mr Lawrence! Mr Lawrence, wait!" Clarissa quickly blocked Damien from entering his car." Fine! I swear that ... I won't seduce other men!" When she said the word 'seduce,' she could feel her self-worth had gone down quite a bit Then again, she was left without a choice. "Get in."
Clarissa finally let out a long sich of relief.
"Where are the marriage certificates? Don't you plan to return them to me?" Damien Inquired.
"Those certificates? They're locked in my dorm room."
Damien pulled out his phone and gave the head of the HR department, Judy, a call. He wanted her to empty out Room 1507, which was Clarissa's room, and arrange for someone else to move into that room. When Clarissa heard Damien's words, she grew extremely anxious. Damien was very brutal and decisive when it came to dealing with her. All she did was take the marriage certificates with her, and the consequence she had to deal with was the loss of her dorm room.
Meanwhile, Damien didn't seem to mind the fact that a lot of people had discovered about his marriage with Clarissa. After all, there was no use crying over spilt milk. What happened, had happened. "Yes. Since she's married, she no longer needs a dorm room." Damien was still on the call with the head of the HR department. "You don't have to call her to inform her. She's in my car with ine right now. I'll go with her to pack her things."
After the call was over. Damien turned his head and said to Clarissa, "Someone else will move into your room soon. Go pack your things."
Clarissa didn't know if she should laugh or cry at that moment.
The car left the parking lot and soon stopped in front of the dorms that were located across the company building Clarissa could only proceed to her dorm room like a wretched dog with its tail tucked between its legs. When Lily noticed her return, she asked anxiously, "Did he punish you?"
Clarissa frowned silently and started throwing all of her things into her suitcase, not deigning to reply. After a while, she mumbled in disappointment, "I lost my room. He wants me to move out right now. You'll have a new roommate soon."
Lily plopped onto the bed, currently filled with self-hatred for sending the Whatsapp message to the wrong chat. She had no idea who her new roommate would be, so she didn't know if they would be able to hit it off or not.
"I told you before, didn't I? Why are you still fighting with him? You won't get anything good out of this fight," Lily commented. Even though Clarissa resonated with her logic, she couldn't bring herself to reply. Upon returning to the mansion in the mountains, Clarissa returned to her room in order to start on her assignments.
Damien was leaning against the bedpost wlule reading a book. Clarissa didn't know how to solve a question, so she could only approach him with her book meekly.
"Mr. Lawrence, I don't know how to solve this question. Can you please explain the solution to me?" Clarissa stopped next to Damien and bent down to ask him. She was ready to play the role of a humble student, "How do you deal with an emergency that negatively affects your enterprise? Didn't talk about this during my lecture? You didn't sleep through the course, so how is it possible for you to not know the answer?" A slight frown was present on Damien's face as he looked at Clarissa.
Seriously! Must he say such things to her? It wasn't enough for Damien to trample Clarissa underfoot. He had to step on her a few times in a row in order to get his petty revenge on her for what happened before. The bedroom light shone on Clarissa from behind. Her cheeks were already tomato-red, and her ears had grown transparent thanks to the light. She licked her lips nervously, not daring to look at Damien. Instead, she pretended to stare at the book with utmost concentration. "Come on, please explain the answer to me." "How will you repay me?" Damien's gaze fell on her face.
"Um... What do you want as payment?" Clarissa did her best to suppress her anger.
"Serve me well tonight. You've angered me so much over the past few days, after all." Clarissa was speechless upon hearing the request.
A long moment later, she licked her lips again and relented. "Fine." Only then did Damien explain the answer to her in full detail.
