Chapter 78

Louts was lying on his bed with his eyes closed. He blindly reached for his phone and picked up

the call.

"Who is it?" he snapped.

Upon hearing his irritated voice, Angelina was silent. She didn't know how to start the

conversation.

He furrowed his brow. "Hello? Who the fuck is this?"

She was about to hang up when Louis groggily took a closer look at the caller ID.

"A-Angie?"

"Hello. Good morning, Louis."

"What's wrong, Angie?" Louis almost jumped out of bed. He hastily got up and asked, "Did Chester take his anger out on you? He laid his hands on you, didn't he? That bastard I'll kill him!"

"N-No he didn't!"

"You don't need to cover up for him. I know the type of guy he is. He took his anger out on you

-I can't believe he would do that... I ought to

"No, Louis-Wait!" Angelina frantically explained. "Could you cut him some slack, Louis? You shouldn't be working for bad people either. You're a good man."

"Angie..."

"I've never asked you for any favors. All I'm asking now is for you to stop making things difficult for him."

"Did he give you any trouble? He snapped at you, didn't he?"

No

The door to the room flew open. Angelina's expression shifted as Chester walked in with his laptop in hand.

Chapter 7

Chester had taken the phone from Angelina. He couldn't help but frown as he heard what Louis said.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"If you can't win against me, just admit that you're a loser. Why are you picking on a woman, Chester?"

"No, no he didn't pick on me," Angelina repeated.

"Don't submit to his tyranny, Angie! I can deal with all your troubles for you!" exclaimed

Louis.

"What can you do, Louis? Tell me." Chester found Louis' obnoxious attitude surprising. He felt amused and resigned at the same time.

Louis used to keep to himself most of the time. Now, he was going around claiming he could help others settle their problems.

"You're just a lackey. Your bark doesn't necessarily reflect your bite."

"What are you then?" Louis laughed. "Things must be hard, right? I have the power to put a stop to your work. I can make your stupid software worthless. You're the one that's all bark and no bite." Angelina fell silent.

"Can you grow up, Louis? Why do you insist on doing something that isn't beneficial to you or anyone else?" Chester snapped before hanging up the phone. Then, he chucked the phone. back at Angelina and sat with his back facing toward her. The room instantly became quiet. There was a withering hibiscus on the balcony...

"Did you call him?" he asked.

"I heard you two were fighting, so I wanted to talk him out of it."

"There's no need for that. I've already fixed the problem."

"When?"

Chester tapped on the keyboard before turning around and flashing her a smile. "Give me your hand."

She reached out her hand. She saw lines of indecipherable code on the screen and felt lost. She couldn't understand a thing.

He gently grabbed her hand and pressed her index finger onto a random button. "There-all done."
