Chapter Love And Fortune A Gamble For Two 75
Chapter 75
Louis took a lot of time to figure out the features of Chester's software. He spent the entire night coming up with a first draft. Then, he altered the production time.
He thought about the massive contract breaches that Chester was about to make. He was patiently waiting for the moment Chester returned to square one.
Louis longed to see Chester lose everything he'd worked for. He wanted to see the despair and dejection gradually dawn on his usually calm face
Chester stayed up for two nights straight while Louis partied at the club for two days. By the end of it, the latter could barely stand up straight
After exiting the club, Louis grabbed his keys and unlocked his car. He was just about to get into his vehicle when someone yanked his shirt from the back. Subsequently, he got punched in the face.
Hungover, he could barely register what had happened before he fell onto the ground.
"Are you the owner of Fabel Softwares?" a voice asked.
Louis wiped his lip and glanced at the blood on the back of his hand. He looked up at Chester and started laughing. "So what if I am?"
He stood up and continued, "Since I have the opportunity to ruin you, I'll do my best to ensure you'll never recover from it."
William had explicitly told him to keep a close eye on Chester. He had underestimated his
abilities.
Chester took a few steps forward. "You better keep your tracks clear. Don't let me catch you red-handed."
"If
you were capable of that, you wouldn't need to be here," Louis mocked as he stared directly at him. "Luck won't always-
Louis stopped mid-sentence and let out a startled noise. Alexander had kicked him from behind. Ryan was following closely behind him as well.
Louis couldn't even stand up straight. Frowning, he shakily got up from the floor. "You bastards! How dare you..."
Alexander kicked him again. Chester squatted down next to Louis and said, "You've lost to me once before, Louis-don't forget that."
Afterward, Alexander and Chester took their leave. Ryan, who lagged behind, suddenly turned
around to look at Louis.
"Why are you doing this? What can William offer you in return for working for him? He's just Chapter 75
using you," said Ryan.
He continued, "David and William have caused so much trouble for the Whitmores. He's just going to get David out of that mess and manipulate you into doing their dirty work." However, Louis didn't seem to care. "Go away. I don't need anyone else meddling in my
business."
"If you drop everything now, there's still room for us to make up. Stop doing this because of Angelina-"
"Fuck off!"
Frustrated and angry, Ryan ended up punching Louis in the face. "I guess I was wrong about you. Go ahead and do as you please."
Chester seemed exhausted the last couple of days. Angelina also felt as though she hadn't seen him in a while.
Today, she woke up to Catherine and Chester sleeping on either side of her. Chester was sound asleep. He looked very tired.
Angelina leaned over and brushed a finger across his eyelashes. Chester was fortunate enough to have thick and long lashes. All of a sudden, her hand stiffened-she had been caught red handed. "Did I wake you?" she asked.
Chester didn't respond. He opened his eyes and placed her on top of him.
Despite being separated by a blanket, Angelina still felt as though it was inappropriate. Blushing, she got off of him and said, "Chester Whitmore."
"Angie?"
"Yes?"
"Do you
believe in me?"
""Of course."
If he didn't manage to gather enough evidence to prove his innocence, he might actually return to square one. All the effort he had been putting in for the last few months would be wasted then.
If he had to face reality, he would've needed to admit that he wasn't as capable as he thought he was...
Angelina was shocked. She didn't know why he would suddenly ask a question like that.
"Did something happen?" she asked.
Change
In the process of starting his own business, Chester seemed to have run into some obstacles. However, there wasn't a need to go into the details. Since it was a romance novel, she focused on the interactions between the lead characters instead. "Do you trust me?"
"Of course. No matter what happens, I'm sure everything will turn out just fine."
Chester's expression softened. "Let me ask you a question."
"What?"
