Love and Fortune A Gamble for Two (Angela and Chester)

Chapter A Gamble For Two 28

Chapter 28

Should they talk about the friendship they lost because of a woman, or should they talk about Chester's wife, Angelina?

"I can give you some clues about David's situation."

"No need. I already know what happened. Don't call her again."

The call ended, and Angelina had felt invisible throughout the whole thing.

Chester handed her the phone. "Block him."

"That wouldn't be good."

"Why? Give me a reason."

Angelina took her phone and immediately blocked the number before handing it back to Chester.

"Good girl." He put the phone back on the bedside table. "I'm going to work now."

Angelina was speechless, wondering why she was taking orders from him.

She slept until the afternoon. During her nap, Emily and Florence went to the grocery store to buy vegetables. This was the time when the prices were the cheapest, with clearance sales. After Angelina got up, she went downstairs for a walk. A white cat was hiding in the grass, and it looked very thin.

"Kitty..."

Angelina knew there were stray cats in the complex, but they were very shy and rarely showed up. Seeing the white cat, she was thrilled.

The white cat was the least good-looking among the cats and the most likely to be bullied. It looked so thin, and its fur was dirty. It trembled and meowed at Angelina, only showing its head from the bushes. "Kitty!"

Angelina crouched down. "Kitty..."

When the white cat saw her approaching, it got scared and ran away with a meow.

"Kitty, don't run! I'll give you a sausage, kitty!"

By the time Angelina came back with a sausage, the cat was gone. Not wanting to waste it, she bit off the end of the sausage and started nibbling on it. I started nibbling on it.

Halfway through, she encountered a black-and-white stray dog. She was a bit scared of dogs,

so she tossed the sausage toward it, not daring to get close.

The dog glanced at her and lay on the ground.

It conveniently lay right on top of the sausage as it rolled around, crushing it into pieces.

The dog glanced at her again, then quickly ran off

"Why did it do that?" Angelina was confused.

"Why did you do that?" she asked the dog.

The dog ran while looking back at her as if it were running for its life.

Chester, who was returning from work, saw this scene. He chuckled and said, "You have nothing to do, so you're chasing cats and dogs now? What if they bite you?" Angelina turned around. "I gave it a sausage, but it wouldn't eat it. It even smashed the sausage into pieces."

"Dogs behave differently these days. It must've thought you were trying to harm it. Even dogs

think now."

Because of the bloating, Angelina félt she was getting uglier. But for some reason, Chester loved being close to her at night.

He didn't do anything; he just kissed her here and there, making her shiver. Then, he'd go to the bathroom.

Angelina didn't know what he did in there. But that day, after Chester entered the bathroom, he quickly came out and lay down beside her.

"Chester, what are you doing?"

"Don't shout. Shh..."

"Go away..."

"Be good. Let me teach you how to be a wife."

"I don't need you teaching me that. How shameless you are, Chester!"

"Be good, Angie."

Angelina just hit him in response.

"How could such a beautiful person hit others?"

Hearing that, Angelina's face and ears turned red

"Don't be nervous," Chester whispered.
