Chapter 463

When Millie opened the door, she found Winston standing there looking disheveled in a white shirt and a loone tle. His brow was locked in a frown, and he looked like he had a lot to say.

She hung her head and stepped aside to allow him into the room. There were too many pairs of eyes around for them to openly converse by the door.

However, he refused to enter.

“Millie Caldwell, how much grudge do you hold against me? Since I’m here, I allow you to take it out on me.” He stared back with tired eyes.

She glanced at him and chuckled wryly. “It’s pointless. I can’t be bothered to bring it up.”

“Oh, are you unwilling to talk about it when I’m in front of you?” Winston took a step forward and swallowed hard.

His tone was filled with doubt.

She let out a laugh. “I’m the one who’s hurt. You’ve always been the arrogant one. Now that we’re divorced, you act like you’re caring and have always listened all of a sudden. Don’t you think you’re being fake?”

Every single word of hers was akin to a stab to his heart.

He pressed his lips together as something tugged at his heartstrings. Indeed, he had always acted like he was superior to Millie. He was to be blamed for their failed marriage and Millie’s suffering.

Looking conflicted, he finally stared at his feet in a humbling manner. “I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart–you and Sean are incompatible.”

“That’s my relationship problem to deal with. I don’t need your input,” she replied icily.

“Millie, I mean no harm.”

“Why do you like to interfere in my life? Can I say to you that I mean no harm, but you and Joanna are incompatible?” She shrugged and watched the emotional turmoil unfolding on his face,

the refund to be involved with Winstont anymore, yet he wouldn’t stop Betting Street Phe

Krough the reined that she no longer had feelings for him, she couldn’t bring here to be burripletely store in front of him, not after their seven years of relationship one that spanned her entire youth

She had fought and given up everything to love Winston. She lost her youth and her man, which was a devastating blow that nearly invalidated the meaning of her life

Winston’s heart sank when he heard her remark. She was right, he and Joanns were incompatisle

Joanna was a calculative, pampered woman who had aro clue about managing a household, not to mention having goals of her own.

The Lowells spoiled her and turned her into a princess who couldn’t do anything for herself and expected to be served and doted on.

To be honest, Joanna was the opposite of his type, but he had no other

choice.

Loosening his tie, he whispered, “Millie, do you want to know the reason I insisted on marrying Joanna?”

“I’m not interested. And I’m being serious,” she retorted with a smile.

She couldn’t care less about his relationship with Joanna. Therefore, she declared, “You should keep your nose out of my relationship with Sean too.” Her repeated reminders for him to stay out of his business hurt him deeply. He inched forward and forced her against the wall. He warned her with seriousness, “Sean is my friend. Do you want to put me through the

humiliation of watching my ex–wife flirting with my friend?”

“Does that even matter? It’s not like you love me.” She narrowed her eyes and carried a threatening look.

His heart nearly came to a stop. Fist curling against the wall, he stared straight at Millie’s gorgeous face.
