Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 180

Instinctively denying it, Sarah exclaimed. "Hayden's matter has nothing to do with me! You set the fire! I'm calling the police!"

"Go ahead and report it," Lily replied, watching as she unlocked her phone. "I will divorce Xavier. I hope this will end the animosity between us."

Sarah had used Xavier to create obstacles for Lily, first through her work and now involving Hayden.

Lily cared about too many things and didn't have the power to fight Sarah. She would always be the losing party in this inherently unfair love triangle. She had long accepted it

The call to the police was made, but Sarah immediately hung up, gripping her phone tightly.

"Last time, you kept saying you'd get a divorce!" Sarah cried.

Lily forced a smile. "Don't worry. This time, it will happen. I have the photos you sent me as evidence. If Xavier doesn't agree, I'll expose them to threaten him, and he'll have no choice but to agree." This time, she was determined to divorce him. She was ready to break all ties.

"What?" Sarah's expression shifted to confusion, her brow furrowing. "What photos?"

Her gaze grew suspicious. She had been bold in front of Lily because there was no physical evidence. Even if Lily went to Xavier, he wouldn't believe her without proof.

But Lily now mentioned exposing videos and photos...

"Drop the act," Lily said, no longer in the mood to play along. "Once we get divorced, I'll be free. If you continue to make things difficult for me, I won't hold back."

With those words, she turned around, got back into her car, and drove back to the hospital.

In the rearview mirror, she saw Sarah shivering in the cold wind while only a few scattered embers remained inside the villa. Though the fire wasn't large, it was no longer livable. Lily had achieved her goal. She drove back to the hospital, knowing Hayden should have come out of the emergency room by now...

An hour later, Xavier arrived at Glenview Villa. At 2:00 am, the area outside the manor was packed with people.

Several firefighters worked together, spraying water into the second-floor windows as black smoke and flames surged and leaped.

before Xavier could even assess the situation, Sarah, wrapped in a thin blanket, rushed over and threw herself into his arms.

"Xavier, you're finally here. I thought I couldn't see you again!"

His deep, unreadable eyes reflected the firelight as he furrowed his brows tightly. "How did the fire get so big?"

Sobbing in his arms, she didn't answer.

One of the firefighters spoke up. "This seems to be man-made. There's no way the fire could have spread so quickly from the first to the second floor. It you want to investigate, call the police, and we'll cooperate." "Investigate..." Xavier mumbled, his thoughts drifting. This was their wedding house, now reduced to a shell. He feared Lily would be upset.

Though it seemed like an accident, he had allowed Sarah to move in, and now the house was damaged. Lily would probably be angry with him.

He didn't want to fight over such small matters, but investigating it might give her some closure. But before he could finish, Sarah pulled away from his arms and urgently shook her head at the firefighter. "Thank you, but there's no need. As long as the fire's out, we won't investigate."

It was a private residence with no casualties, so the firefighters didn't push further. Half an hour later, the fire was out, and the firefighters left.

was thick with the scent of charred materials. Xavier stared at the dark house, a heavy feeling settling in his chest.

"What exactly happened?" he asked in a low voice.

Sarah lowered her head, tears falling as she spoke. "It was Lily. I don't know what misunderstanding she has with me. The sinoke woke me up, and I almost died in there."
