Chapter 179
Chapter 179
"Why don't you just coax him for a month and discuss the divorcel
Later?"
Hazel was frantic. If Lily and Xavier divorced now and Lily didn't get pregnant, it would be over for real.
Lily rested her head against the back of the seat, raising her hand to press hard against her temple. "I can't hold on any longer!"
"Is it him insisting on the divorce?" Hazel's tone suddenly shifted. "If he's not showing any mercy, you can threaten him with a divorce.
" he doesn't agree, expose the marriage and demand an explanation from the Fulton family. He was the one who wanted to marry you, and now he says he doesn't want you?"
Hael's Incessant chatter in the quiet space made the air in the car feel thin and suffocating
"The medical bills for Hayden were just paid a couple of days ago. You've got a month to sell the house. The money must go into Hayden's hospital account, so even if something happens to the Joyner family, there will be money for his treatment. You'll regret it if you don't do as I say."
Lily interrupted Hazel, explained the situation, and ended the call. She believed that Bobby and Hazel wouldn't gamble on Hayden's life.
Throwing her phone aside, she buckled her seatbelt, started the car engine, and headed straight for Glenview Villa
At 11:00 pm, the wind howled outside, and the car windows fogged up. When the road became hard to see, Lily realized she hadn't turned on the heater.
She immediately switched on the heater, wiped the glass, and continued driving. An hour later, she arrived at Glenview Villa. The entire villa was dark.
After exiting the car, she reached through the fence, opened the gate, and entered the yard.
Standing in the center of the yard, looking at the villa, she remembered the first time she had come here.
The yard had been in disarray, overgrown with wild grass, and scattered with gravel and construction debris.
She had planted every flower and plant in the yard except for the interior decoration.
Once the house was renovated, she had imagined daily what it would be like to live here. But she never expected that someone else would move in before her
She climbed a few steps, paused to stare at the changed electronic lock, and then turned around to retrieve a spare key hidden beneath a small flower pot on the table.
She unlocked the door, entered, and turned on the light in the foyer.
On the foyer cabinet, there was a man's lighter. She had seen an identical one many times with Xavier.
Sheganced at it momentarily, picked it up, and walked into the living room. She crouched by the floor-to-ceiling windows, lit the lighter, and set the curtains on fire.
The curtains were thick, and the small flame burned slowly and steadily.
She stood up, searched around, and set anything flammable alight. Then, she walked back to the foyer and pressed the fire alarm.
The sharp sound echoed throughout the villa. She had already left the house, watching the small flames grow bigger in the living room. There weren't many flarin
flammable materials inside, and the cold weather wouldn't lead to a major fire.
Lily stuffed her hands in her pockets, watching as the lights on the second floor suddenly came on. Dressed in thin silk pajamas, Sarah rushed downstairs.
Amid the smoky haze, she dialed a number, running toward the door as she spoke. "Xavier, there's a tire..."
Was Xavier a firefighter? Lily watched with cold amusement as Sarah frantically called him for help.
Sarah's voice faltered as she saw Lily standing in the center of the yard. She ended the call. "Lily, are you crazy?"
"You should be grateful Hayden is out of danger, or you wouldn't leave this house tonight!"
Lily looked at her coldly. "Sarali, no matter what you do to me, I can endure it, but you can't touch Hayden!" The biting cold wind of the night pierced Sarah's thin silk nightgown, leaving her right with shock
