Bobby took a card from his pocket and, seizing the opportunity during their handshake, slipped it into Rowan's hand. "Dr. Blackwood, from now on, I'll leave my son's care in your hands..."
He had asked someone to contact Xander, and after Xander was replaced, he contacted Bobby about this situation.
Xander had given Rowan a very fair evaluation although Rowan's background was unknown, his abilities were undeniable. Therefore, Bobby had no reservations and trusted Rowan to treat Hayden. "How much?" Rowan loosened his grip on his hand, eyeing the card with interest.
Bobby hesitated. He had given Xander 20,000 dollars before, but business was going downhill, and he didn't have that much anymore.
He made a gesture. "6,000 dollars."
"How do you expect me to care for your son?" Rowan said, holding the card, thinking for a moment. "Should I give him an extra 6,000 dollars in oxygen?
When Hazel heard this, she quietly asked Bobby, "Honey, does he think it's too little?"
Bobby rubbed his hands in his pockets, unwilling to take out more money. He looked at Lily.
Lily was rubbing her elbow, which had been sore from being shoved by them when he suddenly yanked her over. She was dragged to stand before Rowan "Doctor, if you want more, ask my daughter. She has plenty of money." Rowan's gaze toward the Joyner family couple shifted slightly. "This is no longer your o
concern. You can head back now, I need to speak with Ms. Joyner." Worried that Rowan might demand more money and that Lily would throw this "hot potato" back at him, Bobby quickly took Hazel and left. At least they were sure Hayden's life was no longer in danger! Lily, feeling awkward and uneasy, looked at Rowan. "Dr. Blackwood, my salary is very low. You-"
"Here." He handed her the card. "I heard from Dr. Dawson that you've been extremely concerned about your brother's condition, covering the medical expenses and handling everything else.
It must be exhausting, I don't want a gift. As a doctor, I just want to save lives." With that, he gave Lily's shoulder a gentle pat
She seemed like she was going through a lot. His gaze shifted to the spot where Xavier had been standing earlier. It was now empty
"Thank you, Dr. Blackwood." She took the card, glancing at where Xavier had been standing.
Hel
likely just passed by when he heard about Hayden and decided to stop momentarily. However, it was just a moment.
She looked away and looked back at Rowan. "When the nurse called me, she mentioned a woman causing trouble. Can I see the hospital's surveillance footage?" mpany her to review the
"Of course. I'll have my assistant take you there" He led her to his office, where a young man, around 18 or 19, would accompany surveillance footage of Hayden's ward.
Lily followed the young man out. As soon as she left, Xavier entered Rowan's office,
"How's it going?"
"There's no danger to his life." Rowan, playing with a pen, smiled and asked, "Xavier, are you close to Ms. Joyner, or do you know Hayden?" Xavier pulled out a chair and sat down casually, relaxed. "Have you decided on the treatment plan?" Rowan nodded. "I've already discussed it with Ms. Joyner. Every night from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m., she will assist me in counseling the patient psychologically. Do you have any objections?"
"No." Xavier thought for a moment. Some things could wait a little longer.
"Oh, so what exactly is your relationship with Ms. Joyner?" After hearing his response, Rowan became certain that Xavier's relationship with Lily was more than just casual
Xavier ignored him and stood up to leave.
Rowan slammed the table, standing up. "If you're thinking of pursuing her, you'd better step it up. Someone is asking me to help Hayden, and he looks far more gentler, handsome, and considerate than you! Xavier, one foot already out the door, passed and turned back. He kicked the door closed and returned to stand before Rowan. "Terence?"
