Chapter 175
Chapter 175
Hayden became increasingly aware of his parents' favoritism as they grew up. He stood firmly by Lily's side and treated her with even more care.
She couldn't imagine what life would be like without him. He was the last bit of color in her world. If he disappeared, everything would lose its meaning Her trembling hands gripped him, and large tears fell onto the pristine white sheets. "Tell me, what can I do to save you? Don't you want me anymore?"
The cold machine suddenly made a sound, vibrating, Rowan, who had been recording data, paised momentarily, then immediately looked at Hayden.
"Keep going. Keep going."
"Alright." She couldn't understand the changes in the symbols on the equipment, but she instinctively followed Rowan's Instructions and kept speaking to Hayden.
About ten minutes later, Rowan put down his pen. "That's enough. He'll need to be observed here for another two hours. You should go rest." "Is he going to be alright?" Lily straightened up, her eyes shining with hope as she looked at Rowan
He nodded and gave her a careful glance. "At this point, his life is no longer in danger. You're his sister, and your relationship with him seems even closer than with his parents?"
Lily couldn't speak from Hayden's perspective, especially regarding his relationship with Bobby and Hazel. She simply replied, "We have a very good relationship."
"His condition is quite complex. If possible, I'd like you to cooperate with me in providing psychological treatment for him." His research abroad had shown that psychological conditions could improve significantly if family members were involved in the he treatment. "Can
the treatment be at night?" she asked instinctively since she still had to work during the day
But then she realized that doctors were off-duty at night.
"Of course." Rowan eagerly agreed. We'll offer psychological counseling every night from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. You can come then." This way, he could stay up late, sleep during the day, and absorb "the essence of the medical world" during the quiet hours of the night. Lily was surprised for a few seconds, then smiled and walked toward him, nodding. "So, when you work overtime, will we pay overtime fees?" "With our relationship, what's there to charge for overtime?"
He raised his hand as though to pat her on the chest. But when he looked down, realizing her curvaceous figure, he quickly withdrew his hand. He wasn't curious about Lily's relationship with Terence. However, he did wonder about her relationship with Xavier. "Ms. Joyner, you and Mr. Fulton... are you, well, acquainted?"
Xavier was a prominent figure in the business world who seemed to know everyone wherever he went. Lily wasn't surprised by his question. She had already prepared an answer.
"Yes, but we're not close."
Not close? How could Xavier have brought him back from a thousand miles away to treat Hayden if they weren't close?
Rowan didn't fully accept Lily's explanation. However, when he returned, he asked Xavier about his relationship with the Joyner family siblings. Xavier told him not to ask any more questions and to keep quiet.
"Let's go." After instructing the nurse to watch Hayden, Rowan led Llly out of the emergency room.
As soon as they stepped out, Bobby and Hazel rushed over. They pushed Lily aside and blocked Rowan
"Doctor, how is my son?"
"Doctor, please save my son! He's my biological son!"
Rowan instinctively glanced at Lily, who had been shoved aside and frowned.
"The patient has no interest in your talk of buying cars or houses or spending endless money. He's only concerned about his sister. His vital signs have improved after just a few words from Ms. Joyner. There's no immediate danger to his life." Hazel's face lit up with joy. "That's wonderful! Thank you, Doctor!"
