Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1262

“Matt, it’s so good to have you.” Countless words condensed into one sentence, leaving only gratitude. Veronica Murphy didn’t know how to express her emotions, but she kept everything Matthew Kings did for her in her heart.

In fact, she started to reflect on herself. That night when Matthew Kings accompanied Eviette Robins in the hospital, she felt a little angry and jealous. Was she being too petty and not trusting him?

“Hurry up and eat. If we’re late, we’ll get scolded by the crew again.” He pushed Veronica Murphy aside, cupped her face, and kissed her forehead.

Veronica Murphy looked up at him and said, “I’ve made up my mind. After this film is finished, I’ll come back and work with you.”

She wanted to do something for Matthew Kings. Only by becoming his right-hand person could she wholeheartedly help him.

“No need.”

Matthew Kings refused directly.

Veronica Murphy was stunned and asked, “Why?”

“Married couples need space. If we’re together every day and still in the same company, we’ll be colleagues. We might have different opinions on certain matters and cause conflicts.”

Matthew Kings held her hand and said with deep meaning, “I don’t want any other factors to affect our relationship.”

His words made sense.

“Okay then.”

Veronica Murphy didn’t say anything more. The two sat together for a meal. Veronica Murphy was in a good mood. She had three bowls of porridge in the morning and finished more than half of the stir-fried vegetables and eggs.

After the meal, she burped contentedly and got up to clean the dishes in the kitchen. Matthew Kings changed his clothes in the bedroom. After they finished tidying up, he accompanied Veronica Murphy to the parking lot. Thomas Ritter drove them to Lothen’s film and television city.

Veronica Murphy had some concerns along the way. “Matt, you could have just let Thomas Ritter take me to the set. You don’t have to come in person.”

The man leaned against the car seat, raised his hand to support Veronica Murphy’s head, and let her lean on his shoulder. “It will take some time to get there. Rest for a while.”

“I’m not sleepy.”

Veronica Murphy held Matthew Kings’ hand with both hands, her fingernails scraping against his nails, and said in a deep voice, “Once I leave, the next time we meet might be on Christmas.”

“When you miss me, I’ll be by your side.” The man smiled and replied. Veronica Murphy laughed it off, but suddenly, she thought of something and looked up at him. “Matt, you… you said earlier that you have a good relationship with Eviette Robins. But why haven’t I seen you contact her before?”

“Well, we haven’t been in touch for a long time.”

“Not contacting each other for such a long time, aren’t you afraid that she might suddenly appear with some ulterior motive?”

Her words clearly conveyed a certain meaning, and Matthew Kings tilted his head. “Are you suspecting that Eviette has a problem?”

Veronica Murphy was about to nod and tell Matthew Kings about what had happened on the set when she saw him continue, “She would never betray me.”

“Why are you so sure?”

“Her and I, we’re as close as can be.” Matthew Kings sensed that Veronica Murphy’s attitude was off, hesitated for a few seconds, and then said, “Eviette saved my life. And, we have a bond that goes beyond life and death. Just like Caleb and Yanming, she would never betray me.”

His tone was resolute and full of conviction. Veronica Murphy felt a lump in her throat and stared at him for a moment before finally nodding. “That’s good then.”

Perhaps, Eviette Robins really is as good as Matthew Kings said, and maybe Eviette Robins only has a personal vendetta against her!
