Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1261

On this night, Veronica Murphy had cursed Matthew Kings countless times, even going so far as to insult his ancestors.

Matthew Kings was both angry and heartbroken, but in the end, he did his best to speed up so that she could rest sooner. The next day.

Veronica Murphy woke up to find that Matthew Kings was no longer in the bedroom. She wasn’t surprised by this.

Dragging her sore body to the bathroom, she carefully examined herself in the mirror and was relieved to find no traces left on her body, which wouldn’t affect the filming.

After changing into a new outfit, she walked out of the bedroom and was greeted by the rich aroma of pumpkin porridge.

Veronica Murphy slipped on a pair of slippers and made her way to the kitchen, where Matthew Kings was busy in front of the masonry oven with his back turned to her.

She leaned against the door frame with her arms crossed, tilting her head to watch the man cooking with great concentration. She felt that this moment was incredibly beautiful.

After standing there for a while, she realized that Matthew Kings seemed unaware of her presence. So she took a few steps forward and hugged him from behind, pressing her cheek against his back. “Matt, good morning.”

Suddenly feeling warmth around his waist, Matthew Kings slightly turned his head and saw Veronica Murphy leaning against his back. He smiled contentedly. “Why didn’t you sleep a little longer?”

“I have to go to the set today, otherwise I’ll be late if I sleep more.”

Veronica Murphy murmured with her eyes closed, yawning wearily. Matthew Kings stirred the porridge in the pot with a spoon in one hand, while holding her delicate fingers in his other hand, gently caressing them. “Your hands are so cold, you should wear more layers.”

“Yeah, I’ll wear more when I go out.”

She replied. “Go sit in the dining room, the porridge is ready.” He patted her hand and said softly. Veronica Murphy stood up straight, turned around, and obediently went to sit in the dining room.

In no time, Matthew Kings walked out of the kitchen with a pot of porridge in his hands. He saw Veronica Murphy, wearing a light blue fluffy coat, resting her elbows on the table, supporting her cheeks with her hands. She looked playful and adorable.

She looked like she hadn’t fully woken up, lazily basking in the sunlight like a lazy cat curled up in its nest on a winter day. “It’s cold outside, have some porridge to warm up.”

Matthew Kings placed the porridge on the table and thoughtfully served Veronica Murphy a bowl of porridge in front of her.

Then, he turned back into the kitchen. When he came out again, he had two cups of milk and a plate of scrambled eggs with pickled vegetables in his hands.

Veronica Murphy looked at the scrambled eggs with pickled vegetables and her eyes lit up. “Did you make this?”

“What else?” The man raised an eyebrow, a hint of smugness in his eyes.

“How did you know I like this?”

“My parents told me.” Matthew Kings sat across from her and pointed to the plate of stir- fried pickled vegetables and eggs. “A few days ago, my parents had someone deliver the pickled vegetables they prepared, saying that you like them. So I called my dad and asked him to teach me how to make it.”

Veronica Murphy looked at the stack of stir- fried pickled vegetables, garnished with a few sprigs of garlic chives. It was the most common and down-to-earth dish in the countryside. Since coming to Bloomstead, Veronica Murphy had not eaten any hometown dishes. She picked up a fork and took a bite, savoring the taste that was exactly like her father’s cooking.

“How is it? Is it delicious?” Matthew Kings looked expectantly. Veronica Murphy bit her lip and nodded, her beautiful eyes fixed on Matthew Kings. As she looked at him, a thin mist of tears welled up in her eyes.

Her nose tingled with a sour sensation. “Matt, thank you.”

To have a husband like him was truly her honor. Veronica Murphy could almost imagine what he looked like when he called her father to ask for the recipe.

The man couldn’t help but chuckle, getting up and sitting down next to her. He raised his hand to wipe away the tears at the corner of her eyes. “Silly girl, is it worth shedding tears for such a small thing that I did for you?”

Veronica Murphy locked eyes with him for a few seconds, then burst into laughter. She buried herself in his embrace, holding him tightly. “You have done so much for me, how could it be just this one thing?”
