Forgotten Wife: Let the Traitors Kneel Down

Chapter 5

5 The Villain and the Victim Summer passed, giving way to the refreshing fall.

April continued to slip away during the nights, she found it fun to walk through the gardens at night, especially because When winter came he would not be able to do it again, his clothes were light and he did not have a coat, when winter came he would have to stay in his room taking shelter from the cold, wishing that spring would come again.

April had always hated winter, those months she always suffered from the cold, she wished it would be different, but she doubted it, the maids ignored her and when she complained she only received worse treatment, the maids stopped bringing her food, those days April ate the fruit she hid until they decided to come back.

That had happened the times April had complained about the stifling heat in her room and again when she protested why they weren't bringing her food, after that she stopped complaining for the sake of her stomach and even when she needed something she never asked for anything, she made do with what she had in her room.

Autumn passed in the blink of an eye, and when winter came, April had to give up her nightly walks, but from time to time, tired of being confined, she would go out into the garden for a moment and then return.

One night while she was walking in the garden, Alessandro saw her.

He did not approach her nor let her see him.

He just stood there watching her from the shadows.

When he saw that she was barefoot and not wearing a coat but wrapped in a blanket, he thought that the princess was extravagant and then he left.

That winter was not as bad as it had been in the kingdom of Laios for April, although he did not have suitable clothing for winter.

The room was kept up to date and nice, and had enough blankets to keep warm.

When winter ended and spring began again, April felt happy because she could go back to taking her evening walks.

April was singing a song while looking out her balcony window at the beautiful garden full of flowers when one of the maids came in and said to her.

_Princess, it's a nice day today, why don't you take a walk in the garden.

_ Can I do it? _Of course, His Majesty has given his permission.

April was very excited and left her room and went to the garden.

She had been so excited that she forgot to put on her shoes.

She only had one pair and they were uncomfortable, which is why she never wore them.

As she strolled through the garden she felt the cool, soft grass beneath her feet, she walked for the first time under the sunlight enjoying the beautiful flower garden that was shining brightly.

Suddenly he heard a female voice speaking to him, it was a beautiful woman with brown hair, she was wearing a beautiful red dress that made her stand out among the white flowers in the garden.

She is a very beautiful woman.

April thought as she watched her, she approached and asked her.

_ Are you Princess Abril Venobich of the kingdom of Laios? April nodded her head in response; the woman laughed mockingly and said.

_I can't believe my engagement to Alessandro was broken by someone as insignificant as you.

_ Who are you? _I am Victoria Vampel, I was his majesty's fiancée since we were young, we were supposed to have gotten married a year ago, but because of you that didn't happen.

_I'm sorry.

April said without giving much importance to what the woman was saying.

Victoria was upset to see her indifference, she pushed her causing April to fall onto the roses behind her, several thorns stuck into her skin, others into her bare feet as she struggled to get out.

Victoria saw her enjoying her pain, April asked the maid who had been accompanying her on her walk for help, however she did not move a finger to help her, she said indifferently.

_I don't want to get hurt, it was your mistake to fall into the roses, get out on your own.

At that precise moment, April realized that this was all going on; it had been planned in advance; the maid was in cahoots with Victoria.

Suddenly Victoria threw herself to the ground and screamed in pain.

April thought she had gone crazy.

Not even she had screamed like that when she had fallen into the rose bushes.

Alessandro, who was passing by, ran to the aid of the lady who was screaming.

When he saw Victoria, he ran to her side and asked her what was wrong.

She lied, saying that the princess had thrown her to the ground and that she had accidentally fallen into the rose bushes.

Until that moment Alessandro had not noticed that April was tangled in the thorns, he helped her out from between the thorns, then he asked her.

_ What happened here? Before Abril said a word, Victoria and the maid made up a story in which Abril was the bad one and Victoria the victim, it was two against one, Alessandro didn't even let her speak when he judged her.

_You are just like your family, cruel and ruthless, you are so well off in the palace that you think you have the right to trample on others, get out of my sight right now.

April laughed ironically, she had never been well in that palace, trampling on others, she laughed at that term since it was the maids and that woman who was like a poisonous snake who trampled on her and hurt her, but he would not believe her, no It didn't matter what she said, he would think she was the culprit.

April stood up, the thorns in her feet dug in deeper and made her bleed.

She walked away as quickly as she could and returned to her room.

When she got there, she removed all the thorns she could, however, there were others she couldn't reach and she didn't know what to do.

how would I get them out? Alessandro took Victoria to the palace, after giving her a cup of tea to calm her down he sent her back home, Alessandro called the butler and told him.

_Send a doctor to see the princess.

_ Right away, your majesty.

The steward carried out the king's orders without asking any questions.
