Chapter 1048 Cooking
Gideon effortlessly persuaded Lena, and reluctantly, Lena agreed.
Perhaps neither of them noticed that Gideon, who had always been gentle
and considerate, had stopped pretending in front of Lena and began to reveal
his true self to her.
In order to make it more convenient for Lena, Gideon moved into Lena’s
home with his suitcase.
Lena’s apartment was not large. Since she had no intention of letting others
stay, she converted one of the guest rooms into a study.
In other words, there was no place for Gideon to sleep at all.

“I’ll stay in your bedroom,” Gideon concluded after a quick glance at the
layout of the apartment.
“No way!” Lena instinctively refused.
Gideon remained calm, looking at Lena with the handle of his suitcase in
hand. “Pregnant women need care at night. Besides, there’s no other place
for me to sleep here.”
For the first time, Lena regretted not arranging an extra guest room. She
quickly looked at the sofa, but before she could speak, Gideon interrupted
her.

“You don’t expect me to curl up on this tiny sofa, do you?” Gideon frowned,
expressing his disdain.
Curl up on this tiny sofa...
Lena glanced at his towering height of 6.1 feet and her barely four-foot-long
sofa. She had to admit that the description “curl up on this tiny sofa” was
appropriate.
Even if she was not willing to let him sleep in the bedroom, she couldn’t bring
herself to ask him to sleep on the sofa.
Seeing Lena remain silent, Gideon smiled satisfactorily and pulled his
suitcase into the bedroom.
His movements were swift. Not only did he quickly occupy space for his
toiletries on the vanity, but he also efficiently cleared some wardrobe space
for Lena, placing his clothes inside.
Lena stood at the doorway, finding that seeing the stuff and clothes not
belonging to her in the wardrobe was not awkward.
It seemed as if Gideon had already been living here for a long time.
After organizing his things, Gideon started preparing dinner.
As he calmly entered the kitchen wearing an apron, Lena was quite surprised.
“You can cook?”
Having known Gideon for so many years, Lena had never seen him cook

before. She always assumed he was a refined gentleman who never did
household chores. Unexpectedly, he could cook!
“Of course,” Gideon said confidently, facing away from Lena as he gestured
for her to help him tie the apron. “Just wait here.”
Lena did not see the uncertain look on Gideon’s face as he said this.
He mentally replayed the hastily glimpsed recipe and, with great confidence,
turned on the stove.
Ten minutes later, thick smoke billowed from Lena’s kitchen. Even the smoke
alarm in the apartment went off. The property management hurriedly arrived,
took one look at the disastrous state of the kitchen, and left without knowing
what to say.
Lena felt both amused and exasperated.
Pointing at the charred lump in the pot, she asked, “Is this what you call
cooking?”
She could make better dishes than this when she was three years old!
From childhood to adulthood, Gideon, who had always been smooth, never
deemed that his greatest failure would be in cooking.
Despite following the recipe step-by-step, the result was an unappetizing
lump that he couldn’t even bear to look at.
Lena stared at him for a while and said, “Let me teach you how to cook.”
