Fight for Me

Chapter Survivor

Third POV

Most of the rogues are dead with only a few to spare. They’re already as good as dead. Even they know it as some try to run away. But according to Nicholas’ law, - no rogue left alive.

Nicholas starts to look around frantically, looking for her. But everyone here are shifted wolves. He shifts back into his human form.

“Where is she? Where is the human?” He growls out loudly heaving from anger.

A few of the wolves start to shift back.

One steps forward. “Cody took her and ran that way.” He points with an extended arm. “I think he was trying to take her back to the cabin.”

Nicholas starts running in the pointed direction. He can’t find her scent. The air is filled with blood, so much and of so many different people. He finds a few more shifters this side of the woods. The fight must have spread this side too.

SHIT! He thinks to himself.

As he continues to run in his naked form, he catches sight of a stumbling body in front of him, rushing in the same direction he is. Pushing forward, he realizes who it is.

Cody falls again, trying to get up as he holds his injured arm. Nicholas reaches him and helps him lean against a tree for stability.

“Where is she?” He doesn’t need to elaborate further.

“Up ahead.” Cody groans out as he nods in the direction. “I couldn’t stay with her. I w-was ambushed.” He breathes out looking apologetically.

Before Cody could say anymore, they both snapped their heads to the side, hearing movement through the woods.

Nicholas straightens up and steps forward, approaching the oncoming danger. Cody tries to straighten up too, but is too dizzy from the loss of blood.

They hear more crunching slowly approaching them.

Just as Nicholas morphs his claws out, a face gets illuminated by the moonlight.

The face looks up and stops, seeing the large naked figures in front of her.

Nicholas’ breath hitches, seeing her alive, but also because of the sight of her. She’s covered in blood and her clothes are all torn.

Layla takes another hesitant step forward, trying to hold her shirt together. But she stops the moment she sees the larger figure rushing to her. She’s not afraid, because she already knows to whom this outlined body belongs to.

He rushes to her and pulls her tightly into his body smelling her nape. He wants to feel her pulse against his skin to know she’s alive. But all he smells is blood, - wolf blood and hers.

Gggrrrhhh!

He pulls her back and looks at her up and down.

She just stands there confused by his actions, yet enjoying the feel of his warm skin on her. She can see his eyes glowing gold as he growls angrily. At this point his wolf is more in control.

“Where are you hurt?” He says lowly as he searches her for an injury as he feels her neck.

He even tries to pull her hands away from her top, but she resists. He growls at her defiance, as he yanks her arms open. She yelps as he puts her bloody breasts on display and she quickly tries to cover up again.

He keeps on sniffing and fidgeting with her body looking for the source of the blood. But she steps closer and reaches out as she puts her palm on his cheek. They both had long forgotten that eyes were on them.

She knows his wolf is in charge, and she’s just hoping that whatever mate bond they have left, can help calm him down.

“I’m fine.” She says softly looking at his eyes. “I’m not hurt.” She smiles slightly.

He doesn’t know how to handle this situation. He’s so worried about his little human all covered in blood, but the sight of her makes him want to take her right here and now. But his wolf seems to calm down, not smelling any fresh blood. But he still wants her checked.

He picks her up bridal style and starts walking back to the pack house as naked as he came.
