Fight for Me

Chapter Don't do it

Meanwhile

Somewhere in a castle deep in the mountains.

He stomps after her, shoving the swinging door open, as she yet again tries to shut another door in his face.

“Why do you have to be so stubborn?” He grunts out.

“You’re the stubborn one right now.” She shouts back at him, as she realizes there are no more doors for her to escape from him.

“Do you have any idea what you’re getting all of us involved with, Saiya?”

“You think I don’t!!”

“THEN STOP ALL OF THIS!!” His voice echoes off of the stone walls of the room and she goes silent.

But her soft whimpers soon sound through the room.

“He died in my arms.” She looks up at him with her face stained from her blood tears. “It wasn’t supposed to be like that.”

He clenches his jaw at seeing and hearing the hurt in her.

“I know.” He says softly as he takes a hesitant step forward, not sure if he can or should console her. “I know you’re angry. I know you probably want to burn this whole world to the ground if it would mean you could be with him again. But you will be taking it out on the wrong people. And you know that.”

He sees the quiver in her lips as she tries to stop herself from crying anymore. Instead, she releases a piercing scream as she throws the desk to the far corner, shattering it into pieces.

“So you want me to leave them be? When they’re also to blame?” She huffs out annoyed as she starts shaking her head. “No. Someone will pay.”

“And someone will.” He takes another small step forward. “I will bring the head of everyone you tell me to. You are our coven’s leader. I will obey you. But that doesn’t mean I have to respect every decision you make. Especially this one.”

“Have you grown sentimental on them? Have you forgotten your own kind?”

“Many may see me as selfish and ruthless. But I believe what my information tells me. And your intended massacre will only encourage another purge on our kind. Have you already forgotten how we barely escaped with our lives not that many centuries ago?”

“Of course I haven’t forgotten. And shouldn’t that be a reminder to you that we are not the monsters?”

“Of course. We just do what we need to, to survive.”

A brief pause fills the room before she talks.

“So what advice is it that you want to give to me, brother?”

He looks at her as she gains her serious royal composure back.

“Do not attack the hunters. And do not follow the wolf council. Just focus on protecting our kind, and attack only those who dare threaten us vampires.”

“You wish me to just lay still and wait for an attack that could come from anywhere or anyone?”

“Just give me time. I will find the information you need Saiya.” He says her name with gentleness, thankful that she still allows him to call her by her name every once in a while.

She sighs deeply as she ponders on his words.

“Very well.” She looks up at him. “But I cannot promise you too much time.”

He smiles with relief as he takes a larger step forward closing the gap between them.

“That’s more than I need.” He takes his satin handkerchief from his pocket and wipes the almost dried-up blood-tears from her cheeks. “There. All better.” He says as he leans back and looks at her face as he squishes her cheeks.

But the annoyed look on her face and the mumbling he can’t make out has him chuckling.

He takes a step back and bows in front of her in an exaggerated stance. “My apologies, my liege.”

But seeing the smile creep on her face he can’t help but feel relieved.

“Oh, come on. Queen or not, you’re still my brother, Sebastian.” She pulls him up and his arms around her as she snuggles into his tall chest.

He hugs her back tightly as he puts a soft kiss on her forehead. “I’ll always protect you Saiya. No matter the cost.”
