Chapter 1: Catching Up
Andrea woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of their daughter crawling into bed with them again. Their daughter, Victoria Mendoza who was now 6 years old had been having nightmares for a week straight now but refused to tell her parents what they were about. It's been 7 years since Andrea and Jay saved the universe, got married, and had Victoria and everything had been normal ever since.
[Flashback 6 years ago]
Andrea had woken up early in the morning, screaming and Jay followed right behind her as he got up and got dressed, ready to rush Andrea to the hospital as her water had just broken. Today was the day she was finally going into labor and both of them were happy and terrified at the same time. After arriving at the hospital, Jay called the rest of the family and let them know, before going back to his wife's side. Andrea was breathing heavily and gripping Jay's hand until the circulation was nearly cut off. After a few more minutes, Andrea's mother came in as well as Paula, just in the Knick of time. Ten minutes later, Andrea pushed the baby out and smiled at her new daughter. She looked and Jay and said "I'll name her Victoria Isabella Mendoza" Jay smiled and said "perfect" before they signed the birth certificate and had her footprints put on it".
Victoria began to cry in Andrea's arms and she couldn't help but smile at her daughter, she felt so proud and eager to give her the life she never had and at the same time, she was scared that she would horribly screw up as well. Jay smiled and Andrea and said "don't worry we're in this together my love" before he kissed her cheek. Julie smiled and said "She's SOOO cute" and Paula smiled and said, "I call dibs on future babysitting and the title of Godmother ".Julie said, "no me first, after all, it is my grandbaby ". Andrea smiled and said, "relax you two, you'll both get a chance, and Paula you can't be godmother because you're part of the family, you're her auntie". Paula teared up and said" you mean it" and she smiled and said, "yes aunt Paula". Before the nurse left, she had her take a few pictures.
A few days later, they arrived home with Victoria who immediately began to cry because of the change in scenery. Andrea handed the baby to Jay and headed to the bathroom while Jay tended to Victoria before setting her in her crib to sleep". As Jay walked into their room, he heard quiet sobbing from the bathroom, it was Andrea and she was crying and shaking really badly. Jay say next to her on the ledge of the tub and said "sweetie it's okay" and she screamed "no I'm already messing up". Jay wiped her tears, cupped pulled her cheek and pulled her into a deep loving kiss that hushed her. He smiled and said "I'm scared too but we have a whole family to help us and you have me and Imma take care of all of us. Jay picked Andrea up and laid her on the bed in their room and told her to rest while he took care of Victoria. After Jay left the room, she smiled and said to herself "Jay, you've been the best husband I could ever ask for and we've only been married for 14 months...you always will be the one for me".
[End flashback]
Andrea and Jay were now in their thirties; 33-year-olds to be exact and now their little girl could read and write...to Andrea it felt like Victoria grew up so fast, but she was about to grow a lot more soon. Andrea woke up at 7 in the morning to get Victoria ready for school and make jay some coffee before he headed off to work. Andrea had quit her job at slabmart and gave it to Paula 5 years ago so that she could be with Victoria every day. After Victoria turned 3, she took over full ownership of the family construction company so her mother who was now 53 years old, could finally retire like she deserved.
As for Jay, he continued his job as district manager and was offered the position of regional manager but declined because he didn't want to be so busy that he didn't have time for his family. The last few years, Andrea had the time of her life raising her daughter; from her first step all the way to now with her being in 2nd grade already. As she walked into her daughter's bright pink room l, she couldn't help but smile at the sight of her sleeping daughter. Victoria looked just like her mother, with her long, beautiful, black hair, her Carmel skin, and hazel brown eyes that seemed to twinkle when they were opened. Andrea walked over to her and shook her awake and said "time to get up for school honey" before she pulled the covers back over herself. Andrea smiled and said, "uh oh looks like my honeybun just earned herself a ticket for the sunshine choo choo express". Andrea picked her up out of bed and gave her daughter a piggyback ride to the bathroom where the towel and rags were waiting. After cleaning her up, Andrea helped her get dressed and walked her down to the bus stop. After the bus came, she kissed her daughter goodbye as the bus pulled off and left.
