Chapter 1171
Nigel watched with envy as Nina and Nash shared an easy, close rapport. He couldn't help but wonder when he might occupy a similar place in Yvonne's heart and when she might see him as someone she could lean on. "Oh, right," he said, snapping out of his thoughts. "It sounded like you had an idea of who's behind this. Tell me, and I'll help you get justice."
Yvonne let out a bitter laugh and shook her head. "How could I know who it is? I just don't understand why someone would do this. What's in it for them?"
"Everything has a motive," Nigel said thoughtfully. "Whoever did this clearly wants to ruin you, but the benefit they gain depends on their relationship with you."
He walked over and ran his fingers over the red letters on the wall. "This message doesn't feel like it's from a competitor."
Yvonne gave another bitter smile and walked over to join Nina and Nash, who were deep in discussion. They both seemed to agree that Winona was behind it all, but to pin it on her, they needed to find the person who actually vandalized the gallery.
Nina noticed some footprints on the floor and immediately thought of the woman who had followed them. Nash, on the other hand, thought it was a distraction. "It's nighttime, and pulling something like this takes guts. Only a man would be bold enough to do it," he said. "To walk into a gallery with surveillance everywhere, leave graffiti, and not care about security? It must be a man."
Yvonne chimed in, "Does it matter if it's a man or a woman? If we know it was her doing, why not just confront her directly? If she denies it, we'll press harder."
Nash nodded in agreement, just as Nigel approached them and interjected. "Mr. and Mrs. York, let me handle this situation. I'd like to show Yvonne what I'm capable of. Please, give me a chance."
Nina and Nash exchanged a glance, both reluctant to agree. But before they could refuse, Nigel continued, "At least hear me out. Do you know whose jurisdiction this area falls under? The police chief in charge of the southern district is from my family. If I need any help or information, I'm confident he'll assist me."
Nash let out a grin. "I hadn't realized
that connection before. In that case, I'll leave it to you, Mr. Gibson. By the way, you don't have plans for funch,
do you? Why not join us for a meal?"

Nina, catching on, added, "Yes, of course. You've helped Yvonne so much, and we haven't had the chance to thank you properly."
Nigel eagerly agreed, thrilled at the
opportunity to grow closer to
Yvonne and her friends. He quickly booked a private room at a nearby hotel. . FindNovel
Yvonne, however, wasn't thrilled about the situation and kept throwing subtle glances at Nina, hoping she would help cancel the lunch plans.
But Nina pretended not to notice, knowing that having Nigel handle the Winona situation might make things easier in the long run.
At the hotel, Yvonne suddenly received a message that Joe had woken up. But this time, the message wasn't from Nina. It was from Joe himself.
Yvonne's mind drifted, her thoughts consumed by the message.
Nina noticed something was off and quietly asked, "What's wrong?"
Yvonne leaned in, wrapping her arms around her. "I'm suddenly not feeling well I think I might be getting my period. Could you come with me to the restroom?"
Nina nodded, and the two headed toward the restroom.
On the way, Yvonne revealed, "Joe woke up, and he sent me a message. He wants me to go to the hospital to see him right away."
