(Aurora POV)

It’s been around four years since I left not only my pack, but also my so-called mate. I had my twins in December of that year named Marcus and Alexandria aka Alexis. All the people here have been exceedingly kind and helpful to us. They were even so nice to me and threw me a baby shower with all that lived in the same building and those that worked at the night club. I have been living with David this whole time helping him to also take care of Muriel. I had tried to find my own place many times, but David will always talk me out form moving. I have a feeling he wanted more than just a friendship from me, but even though Alex betrayed me the way he did it still would have felt wrong. Also, in a way I guess I still love him. It was around lunch time as I was making a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. When I was done with lunch and setting up the table, I went to the kids’ room to get them ready to eat. I was surprised when David took the smallest room of the three rooms in the apartment. The kids’ room and mind were pretty much the same size with a nice size walk in closet. We were able to fit three toddlers’ bed in the room. David has already been talking about getting a four-bedroom apartment soon, so when the kids get older to give Marcus can have his own room.

“Marcus, Alexis, and Muriel it is time for lunch. Clean up the toys in your room and wash your hands before getting to the table for lunch.”

“Yes mom.”

“Yes momma.”

“Yes Auntie.”

The kids walk into the kitchen while I was cutting some apples and oranges for their snack during lunch. I put the fruit on the table and the kids happily took them.

“Marcus and Alexis, it is going to be your birthday in a few weeks. Is there anything special you two would like to do on that day? Maybe we can throw a party?”

“Momma, can we have a party with all our friends like Zelda, Zoie, Zack, Brooks and Matt.”

“I do not see why not, Alexis and what about you Marcus?”

He looked down at his soup afraid to tell me what was on his mind.

“You know you can ask me anything, sweetheart.”

“Mom, can I have asked anyone to the party?”

“Who would you like to invite to the party?”

“Do you think we can ask Dad to be at the party?”

I froze at just at the one word that Marcus just said. I could not believe he just said the word dad could make a chill go down my back.

“Mom, I want dad to be at our party.”

“Yeah momma, can daddy be here too. All our friends have their daddy, so why Marcus and I do not have a daddy.”

This is something I have been fearing that would be brought up one day, but I was not expecting it this soon. I really do not know what to tell them about Alex. I am not even sure I ever wanted to tell them an=bout him.

‘Aurora, you know one day we need to tell our little ones about Alex and Hunter. We cannot keep this from them forever.’

‘I just do not know what to do, what to tell them. That Daddy did not want me nor want anything to do with us. He never even tries to find us.’

“Mom, does dad not like us? Are we bad kids he does not want?”

“No Marcus, it is not like that. Your father does not even know you or your sister exist.”

“Then why mom, please tell me.”

I did not realize I was crying until I felt the tears hitting my hand.

“Your father did not want me, and I did not find out about you two until I left my pack. So, your father does not know about either of you two.”

“Momma, what is daddy like? What is his name?”

“Oh Alexis, I sort of named you after him. His name is Alexander.”

“Do you mean King Alexander Heinrich?”

David? When did he get home and why did I not hear him going through the door? He went over to the kids at the table.

“Hey, let’s get you guys ready for your naps. We are going to need to wash our face and hands before we do so.”

“Uncle David, mom was telling us about our dad.”

“I know Marcus, but we will talk about this more about this later. Right now, let’s get ready to go take a nap or you will not be able to stay awake for movie and pizza night.”

“Daddy, you’re going to stay home tonight?”

“Yes Pumpkin, auntie Ana is letting me take off for the night and now I can spend tonight with all the ones I love tonight for movie night.”

He takes Muriel into his arms, as Alexis reaches out to him to be picked up as well. He carries them into the bathroom in their bedroom as Marcus follows them. While he was gone, I took care of the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen.

‘Aurora, I did not like it when he said the ones he loves. I do not feel comfortable knowing he might have that type of feeling toward us. I am also getting odd vibes from Zen as well.’

‘His wolf is feeling the same as David?’

‘Yes, so we need to be careful how we act around them both and not give them the wrong idea.’

‘I understand.’

By the time I was done doing the cleanup in the kitchen, that’s when David came out of the room.

“All three of the kids are clean and laying in their beds. I left Mozart playing in the room to help calm down and sleep better. We need to talk beautiful.”

“I really do not want to talk about this right now.”

I tried to walk away, but David grabbed my arm. He did not grab it too hard, but hard enough to let me know that he was being serious about us talking now.

“No, you are going to talk to me about this now. You have been avoiding the question ever since I met you that night by the road. You keep refusing to tell me your last name, what pack you come from or even what your mate’s name is. Today while I was helping with the unpacking from the deliveries, a wolf from a local pack came by asking us if he can hang up a flyer on our board. It was about someone looking for their mate and when I looked at it there was your picture.”

“What are you talking about? What flyer?”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper to hand to me. The paper had a picture of me and a writing that read missing mate. It read that Alex was looking for me, but why? Did he not make it clear that he did not want me?

“Aurora? Aurora, please answer me. Please just look at me and let me know you’re alright.”

I looked up to David as his finger’s gentle touches my cheek. He then wipes away the tears flowing down.

“Beautiful, is King Alexander your mate?”

“No, he was my mate but not anymore. He did not want me.”

“Beautiful, this flyer says different. This is showing that he has been looking for you all these years.”

“No, he announces at the ball that Kimberly Stone is his true mate.”

“Maybe there was a reason, Beautiful. I really think you should get a hold of him to hear his side of the story.”

“I need to think about this.”

“You should sleep on it and decide about this in the morning. Things might look clearer to you. Right now, let’s get things ready for movie and pizza night.”

“Alright then, let’s get this started.”

For the rest of the night, I had many things to do and a lot on my mind to sort through. We have all decided to see Treasure plant, with ham and mushrooms on our pizza. I thought about what David said earlier to me about getting a hold of Alex. Should I get a hold of him? Should I tell him about Marcus and Alexis? Marcus would be the next in line for the throne. During the movie I noticed that Marcus looked upset. I pulled him into my lap.

“Sweetheart, what is wrong? Why are you upset?”

“His dad does not want him either.”

That broke my heart hearing my son saying that. I know Alex does not want me, but maybe his own pups might be a different story.

“Do not worry about its Marcus because I will take care of it.”

David looks over to me while holding Muriel and Alexis. Looking over to Alexis with her head resting on David chest made me wonder how life would be if he was my mate. I guess I will get a hold of Alex tomorrow afternoon and see where this will take us. By the time morning came, I already had everything planned out in my head on what I will be doing today. I helped David to get the kids ready to spend the afternoon with Ana and the other children who lives in this building. She made a playroom in the building so the kids can play when the weather is bad outside. When David left with the kids, I decided to get myself ready to go to a nearby dinner so I can make a phone call on my cell. I did not want them to track my phone to where I was saying if things went wrong. I put my grey sweater on with blue jeans and a black jacket. When I got to the dinner that was at least thirty minutes away from the apartment to call Alex’s office. I stared at the phone for a while before dialing the phone number. I knew this would be about the time he be working in his office. The phone rang a few times before someone finally picked it up.

“Hi this is Beta Sebastián Malik, how may I help you?”

“Seb?”

“Aurora?”

“Yes, it is Seb, where is Alex?”

“He is out looking for you at this very moment.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re his mate, why else would he be looking for you.”

“No that is not true. Kimberly is his mate, not me.”

“Aurora, please listen to me and believe me on what I am saying. You are Alex’s true mate and not Kimberly.”

“Then why did he announce to everyone that she is his mate?”

“You will need to talk to him about that Aurora.”

“Where is Alex?”

“He went to Chicago with King Darius Knight to look for a witch that will be able to track you down. Where are you, Aurora?”

“I am also in Chicago.”

“Really? Let me give you Alex’s cell phone number and you can give him a call as soon as you can. What happen to you that night, Aurora?”

“Well, that night Damien….

“Yes kitten?”

“Damien, what are you doing here?”

“Aurora, what is going on?”

“Oh Seb, you can tell his lordship that I have Aurora and he only has himself to blame for this.”

I then felt a stinging feeling in my neck, but I did not pass out. It just made me very drowsy and not all there. It was easier for him to take me with him to wherever.
