Chapter Benson 32

Chapter 32 Compromise

Yvonne’s gaze fell on Benson, who was lounging on the sofa. His face was still as stunning as when they first met at 19. Time had seemingly left few marks on him.

However, 30–year–old Benson had lost his youthful innocence. Even his smile now carried. an indescribable cunning and coldness, like a jaded rogue.

Yvonne took a deep breath, gathering her courage, and walked over.

Her steps were firm, each one steady and strong, silently declaring her stance.

Benson felt satisfied with Yvonne’s attitude. His hands naturally rested on either side of the sofa, his posture lazy and relaxed, as if he had everything under control.

A glint of satisfaction flickered in his eyes, as if waiting for Yvonne to make her next move.

Yvonne was dressed as simply and elegantly as always. She wore a basic black sweater, a delicate pearl necklace adorning her slender neck, and black wide–legged trousers.

This outfit was suitable for work and exuded an indescribable charm and grace, making people turn their heads.

Benson squinted slightly, his gaze fixed on Yvonne.

His eyes showed both appreciation and anticipation, waiting for Yvonne to respond. Yvonne stood in front of Benson, her expression calm and firm, without any hint of backing down.

Benson unbuttoned two buttons of his shirt, revealing a small patch of his well–toned chest. His action was suggestive, as if hinting at something.

However, the scene Benson anticipated, where Yvonne would try to please him, did not

occur.

Yvonne simply stood there, her gaze unwavering, as if telling Benson that she was no longer the easily swayed girl he once knew.

Yvonne’s emotions erupted like a dam breaking. She lunged at Benson, hitting him furiously.

Her heart was filled with anger and unwillingness. She couldn’t understand why she was treated so disdainfully, like a mere plaything.

Her fists and nails left marks on Benson’s body Her roars echoed in the room: “You bastard, what do you take me for?”

Benson was caught off guard. Yvonne’s attack came too suddenly. Her nails dug into his neck, leaving a red mark.

technique and strength. Benson quickly regained control, pinning Yvonne down on his lap.

Yvonne’s arms were held behind her back, forcing her to straighten and meet his gaze.

Her eyes were full of rage and defiance. She refused to submit to him. Benson wore a malicious smile as he sat up, gripping Yvonne’s wrists, making her press against him.

His actions were provocative and controlling, as if telling Yvonne she couldn’t escape his

grasp.

“You bastard, get off me!” Yvonne yelled angrily, her voice filled with despair and rage.

Benson, however, showed no anger. His smile grew wider, as if he was enjoying this game.

He looked at Yvonne with a playful and mocking expression, as if saying, “You’re still too naive.”

Yvonne was truly furious. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she fought to keep them from falling.

She demanded of Benson: “How can you treat me like this? How can you be so heartless?” Her voice was full of pain and confusion. She didn’t understand why she had fallen in love with someone so cold and heartless.

Yvonne stood there, her eyes full of anger and defiance, her eyes red, tears threatening to fall, but she held them back.

Benson’s words cut like a sharp knife, piercing her heart, causing immense pain and disappointment.

“Yvonne, you’re being unreasonable. You didn’t listen, didn’t keep your promises. When I asked you to move back, you ignored it, You hit Mary when she was modeling. I’ve been patient, bringing you meals, staying at your place, giving you so many chances, but you ignored them all. This is the only way to bring you back,” Benson said, his tone mixed with frustration and reproach.

His eyes showed complex emotions: disappointment, anger, and a faint hint of concern. Yvonne said nothing. She just stared at him with red eyes, feeling wronged and dissatisfied.

She wanted to retort, to question why Benson ignored the fact that Mary had broken the brooch, but she knew it was pointless. Benson had already decided to solve the issue this way.

Benson held her tightly, not letting her break free. His grip was firm and strong, as if telling Yvonne she couldn’t escape his control.

Yvonne’s nose stung with path, feeling an unprecedented sense of helplessness and despair.

Benson leaned closer, speaking softly: “I didn’t scheme against you. Those things you said, that you’d do anything I wanted, I haven’t even counted them against you. It’s you who forgot.”

His voice carried a hint of reproach and dissatisfaction, as if telling Yvonne that she brought this upon herself.

“Don’t defy me anymore!” he added, his voice dangerous and intimidating.

Yvonne’s body trembled. She felt a fear and unease she had never experienced before.

With the brooch in his hands, she had no choice but to comply.

She closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them, staring directly at him. “Will you give me the brooch?” she asked.

“Maybe,” Benson’s ambiguous answer made Yvonne feel even more uneasy and desperate.

Yvonne smiled, pulling her wrist from his grasp. “So, there’s a chance you won’t. Let’s be straightforward,” she said, her voice resolute and determined. She decided not to evade or retreat anymore.

Benson leaned back against the sofa, indicating for her to continue. His eyes showed a hint of anticipation and curiosity, wanting to see how situation.

“You bring me food, stay at my place, acting all considerate and different, just to get me,” Yvonne said with a hint of sarcasm and dissatisfaction. She understood Benson’s

intentions but refused to give in.

Benson didn’t deny it. Yvonne had a special attraction for him. His eyes showed a hint of appreciation and recognition, finding Yvonne more interesting than he had imagined.

“I’m unwilling, and you don’t want that either, right?” Yvonne’s words were challenging and dissatisfied. She wanted to know Benson’s true thoughts.

He couldn’t help but laugh. “Yvonne, you’re more interesting than I thought.”

His voice carried a hint of admiration and anticipation, excited to see Yvonne’s reaction to the brooch being in his hands, just as he had predicted, she was furious.

“And then?” he asked, genuinely interested. His eyes showed a hint of curiosity and expectation, wanting to know how Yvonne would handle the situation.

“Give me the brooch, and I’ll do whatever you want, willingly,” Yvonne said, her voice resolute and determined. She decided not to evade or retreat anymore.

Benson shook his head. “If I give you the brooch, you’ll run away. What do I do then? Comply with me first, and I’ll give it to you tomorrow,” he said, his voice firm and unyielding, deciding to solve the issue this way.
