Becoming the Alpha (Amethyst Pack BK2)

Chapter Chapter Fifteen

“NO! I want to see her!” Brianna is screaming as she runs into the lounge and pounces onto the chair next to me, hugging me tightly.

“I’m sorry Serena, she’s stronger than me right now,” Carla rushes in behind her.

“It’s fine Carla. Brianna, calm down,” I say as she sobs in my arms.

“She’s got a hard punch on her,” Carla rubs her arm as I notice a huge red mark.

“Brianna! Did you hit Carla?!” I growl.

“She wouldn’t let me go! I wanted to see you!” She sobs.

“You do not hit people like that! Carla is human! You could have seriously hurt her! Apologise, right now!” I growl.

“Serena, it’s ok,” Carla says as Daniel checks her arm.

“No, it’s not. Apologise now Brianna” I repeat.

“Sorry” She huffs.

“Brianna…like you mean it,”

“I’m sorry I hurt you, Carla,” She pouts.

“No! Pauline!” I hear Tony shout as I feel a gust of air go through the room as Pauline stands in front of Carla, eyes bright red, her fangs bared.

I move Brianna off of me as I jump over the table standing in front of Carla, pushing her behind me, baring my teeth as my wolf comes to the surface.

“You will not harm her,” I growl.

“Hungry,” Pauline hisses.

“You will not feed on her!” I shout.

Pauline goes to grab me but suddenly her eyes change and she steps back in shock.

“Oh my, I’m sorry!” She cries as she flits out of the room.

“Tony! Find her!” I shout.

“Pauline!” Tony flits after her.

“This day is getting better and better,” I groan.

“Maybe we should wait until the next full moon to turn me…” Carla sighs.

“No way! We are doing it tonight!” I exclaim.

“You’re exhausted, Craig and Vance are hurt, your Dad is home, I have no idea what’s going on between you and Brianna, the pack are all antsy outside, I don’t blame you if we hold off on it,” Carla says.

“We are doing this Carla, I can handle this,”

“I will go talk with the packs,” Lucien says as I nod gratefully at him.

It was at that point I felt the connection between myself and Vance open as I heard him scream out in pain as I darted from the lounge and into their room.

“Vance!” I cry out as I feel his pain surging through me as I hold his hand tightly, pushing my power through him to calm him.

“Did…Did…Did we get him?” He croaks out looking at me.

“He’s here, right next to you Vance,” I point to Craig as he looks over.

“He…He…Remembers…I don’t know what he did…But he remembers now…” He groans as Wren continues to patch him up.

“Might as well of sold his soul to the devil,” Silas grumbles, his hands hovering over Craig, using his powers.

“What do you mean?” I growl.

“It would seem your little friend here is now the pet of Lucinda, he’s at her beck and call for the rest of his life in exchange of his memories.” Silas answers.

“No…Why would he do that?”

“Desperation. It won’t help him though, he may have his memories but you are still no longer mates, the love he felt for you will never be the same,” Silas rolls his eyes.

“Can we stop him from being tethered to Lucinda?” I ask.

“Yes…If she dies.” Silas nods.

“But he’ll keep his memory?”

“Possibly, I’m not sure,” He shrugs.

“Don’t even think about it, we have enough to do without you going on some quest to kill a witch,” Wren says as I raise a brow at her outburst.

“It’s bound to happen anyway, she’s with Yusif,” Silas says.

“Great…” I groan.

“LET GO OF ME!” I hear Brianna scream as I jump from my position next to Vance and walk briskly out the room.

The twins are struggling with her as I notice her eyes are changing colour.

“Brianna, have you ever shifted before?” I ask quickly.

“NO!” She screams.

“Oh shit… She’s having her first shift…” Daniel murmurs.

“Come on sweetheart, come with me,” I pick her up quickly as we head outside.

“Serena?” Lucien frowns at me as I whizz past him as Brianna screams in my arms, I can feel her bones begin the gruelling process of the change.

“She’s shifting for the first time!” I call out as I put her on the ground.

“You need to shift, show her,” Lucien calls as I nod and shift, nudging her with my nose as she screams out, bones cracking.

“Come on Brianna, concentrate!” Lucien says to her.

“It hurts!” She screams.

“Lucien!” I whine.

“Brianna, Serena is right by your side, focus on your wolf, let it free,” Lucien guides her as she begins to shift slowly, her skin turning into a brilliant red fur coat.

“I always hated the first shift,” I hear Eric murmur with some of the others.

“Brianna?” I whimper as I nudge her as she’s gone quiet, laying on the ground.

“Hold off a moment Serena,” Lucien frowns.

Brianna begins to slowly move, whining as her paws lift her up as she looks down at them I can see the happiness and shock in her eyes.

She looks at me and begins to bounce around playfully.

“Well look at that, she’s a natural.” Lucien laughs.

I nudge her with my nose as she keeps playfully pouncing on me.

“Bond with her Serena,” Lucien says as I nod and walk towards her, she bounces back, thinking it’s time to play but stops when I growl, she goes to the ground as I press my head against hers, linking our minds together.

“Brianna?” I murmur through our new link.

“SERENA! This is so cool!” She shouts as I whine at the loudness.

“No need to shout Brianna,” I say.

“Play with me!” She nips at me as she begins bouncing about again.

I roll my eyes as I nudge her gently and she tumbles to the ground. She darts off quickly as I take chase, she giggles through our link as we run around, I growl at her to stop as she gets too close to the border but she ignores me.

“Brianna! Stop! Right now!” I growl but she keeps ignoring me so I leap over her head causing her to tumble to stop as I snarl at her as she tries to dart around me.

“I want to run!” She snaps at me.

“You cannot leave the border! Do you want to be taken again?!” I snap back.

“You’re not my alpha!”

“No! But I am family!” I say before my eyes widen as she steps back in shock.

“What?” She murmurs.

“You’re my sister…” I say as she growls at me before shaking her head and darting away from me.

“You’re lying! Leave me alone!” She cries.

“Brianna!” I call out as she zig-zags trying to stop me from getting her.

“Leave me alone!” She says as she darts into the trees, her small body darting around so quickly I lost her.

She seemed to know her stuff, being the daughter of an alpha she must have been taught how to hide her scent as I began to panic.

“Lucien! I lost her!” I cry out.

“What do you mean you lost her?!” He growls as I hear a howl and then the sound of the other wolves heading into the trees.

“She went to go through the border, I had to stop her but she got angry with me and said I wasn’t her alpha and I said no but I am your sister and she accused me of lying and ran off!” I say quickly.

“This is all we need right now!” Lucien grumbles.

I howl out for Brianna, but she doesn’t respond as the pack searches for her.

“What if she left the territory?!” I run through the trees after ordering my own pack to join the search.

“We’ll find her,” Lucien says.

“What did you do?!” Mum leaps at me angrily as I fall to the ground.

“She knows she’s my sister, she ran,” I snap.

“You stupid girl! If anything happens to her!” Mum growls at me before darting off, howling for her.

“This is your fault! You should never have abandoned her in the first place!” I growl as she turns quickly, snarling at me.

“How dare you speak to your mother like that! I left her in the safest place I could” She snarls.

“So safe she was kidnapped by vampires…real safe mum” I growl as she swipes at me angrily, cutting my muzzle as her eyes go wide.

“Oh no, Serena, I’m sorry, I…I didn’t mean to!” She cries shifting as I growl at her and storm past her as she cries out for me.

I run faster through the trees as I listen out for her little wolf steps before I hear a whimper and stop.

“Brianna…” I pad slowly towards the edge of the border.

“Go away,” She cries in her human form against a tree.

“I found her,” I call to the pack.

“Serena, let me talk to her,” Mum says suddenly by my side as I growl at her.

“I need to fix this,” Mum adds.

“Bit late for that don’t you think…” I growl before nudging Brianna with my nose as she cries, looking at me.

“You’re really my sister?” She asks.

“I am,” I nod as she looks to Mum.

“Is she…” She starts.

“I’m your mother Brianna,” She says.

“You left me,” Brianna cries.

“I know, I’m so sorry sweetheart, I can explain. Serena, will you leave us for a moment?” Mum says as I glare at her.

“It’s ok Serena,” Brianna sniffles as she kisses my muzzle.

“Do not leave the territory, understood?” I order.

“I promise,” She nods as I growl at my mother before leaving them.
