A Drunken Decision Cynthia Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Mary called Lucas the next morning and told him that his maternal grandparents, uncle, and aunt had invited him and Annabelle to visit their house tomorrow night.
Lucas did not hesitate for too long. It was reasonable for his maternal grandparents, uncle, and aunt to wish to meet his wife
After hanging up the phone. Lucas asked his assistant to prepare some gifts and sent a message to Annabelle to let her he mentally prepared. Then, he started working without any distractions.
Grandparents? Uncle and aunt?
Annabelle immediately thought of Irving, who was cheerful and happy. The Johnson family must be easy to get along with to be able to nurture someone like Irving
With that thought, Annabelle stopped worrying about it. She tidied up the bedroom and study room. It was almost ten after she was done, and she began to prepare lunch.
Lucas came back for lunch and an hour’s rest before going to the office again.
When Braxton called, Lucas had just left. Annabelle was still taking an afternoon nap.
When she saw the caller ID, Annabelle had mixed feelings.
In the past, Braxton doted on her and held her in the palm of his hand. But after Ashley returned, her mother’s attitude toward Annabelle changed drastically. As for Braxton, it was as if he had become transparent. He did not care about their attitude, be it good or bad. It was as if it had nothing to
do with him
That was the first time since she got pregnant that Braxton took the initiative to call her!
She felt wronged and sad at the same time.
Did Braxton finally think of her, his dear daughter?
Annabelle sniffed. After much hesitation, she still picked up the call, but she stubbornly refused to speak first.
“Anna!”
The familiar tone and nickname made Annabelle tear up.
It was as if she was not at odds with them. She was still their darling daughter!
“Dad, you are finally willing to call me?”
Braxton’s heroic laughter came from the phone.
“Why? Are you still angry with me? I have been busy with company matters and don’t have time to pay attention to what’s happening at home. How is it? Are you used to living with the Walker family?”
“It’s alright!” Annabelle wiped her tears and said softly. The Walker family was very good to her. Even Elizabeth, who disliked her the most, wanted to
be her business partner
“That’s good!” Braxton said happily. Then, he let out a long sigh. “I haven’t seen you in a long time. Can you have dinner with me tonight?”
Of course, she could! Annabelle almost replied without hesitation. However, at the critical moment, she remembered what Lucas had told her and quickly said apologetically. “I might not be able to do it tonight!”
“What’s wrong? Are you angry with me? So you are not willing to join me for dinner?” Braxton’s tone sank when he heard that
Annabelle shook her head repeatedly Then, she realized that they were on the phone. Braxton could not see her shaking her head. She quickly explained, “No, dad. I’m going to visit Lucas‘ grandparents, uncle, and aunt tonight. This was agreed this morning!”
“I see!” The voice on the other end of the phone softened immediately. Braxton said very magnanimously, “All right then. Be obedient when you get there. Don’t be wipful!”
“I’m not a three year old child!” Annabelle rebuked. “How can I be willful?”
“In my eyes you are still a child?” Braxton said with a smile.
When Armabelle heard that, her heart was filled with warmth. As expected, her father still doted on her. Her mother must be the samel it was just that her mother had yet to find the balance between her and Ashley Annabelle thought that one day, her mother would return to how she originally was.
“Then let’s have lunch together tomorrow!” Braxton said with a smile
Annabelle nodded and answered seriously
After hanging up the phone, if it was not for her round stomach, Annabelle would roll all over the bed. That was great!
She wanted to tell Nathan that news! She wanted him not to worry about her. However, when she saw the time on her phone, Annabelle obediently
exited the chat interface.
Forget it Nathan should be studying at that time of the day, so she should not disturb him
Chapter 58
Because his previous results were average, Nathan had to put in several times more effort than others. Otherwise, he would not be able to keep up with the other’s progress.
Although he was only adapting to life there at the moment.
Annabelle put down her phone and giggled under the blanket. How nice!
She was married, and her husband and in–laws treated her well. She also had a good relationship with her maternal family.
Was there anyone happier than her?
Because of that, Annabelle was in an especially good mood for the entire day. The smile on his face never disappeared. And because of that, when she arrived at the Johnson’s, the whole family took on an instant liking to her.
Happiness was contagious. When one saw a person with a bright smile, they would subconsciously smile along
Whether it was Lucas‘ grandparents or uncle and aunt, they were all very satisfied with this Annabelle. Of course, smiling was one thing, her obedient personality was another, and the most important thing was the two children she was carrying.
The young people did not think having children was important, but in the eyes of the older ones, it was an extraordinary thing. Although their family. did not have a throne that needed an heir, they had a ginormous business that needed to be passed down.
Older people liked to have more children in the family.
Although Annabelle could become rich because of her children only, she was obedient and kind. Although she could not help her husband expand his business territory, she was the like a harbor that could let her tired husband rest.
A family like theirs had a sufficiently good background. There was no need for Lucas to find a competitive wife.
The couple came happily and returned happily. Before they left, Lucas‘ grandma held Annabelle’s hand and spoke to her kindly. Annabelle patiently agreed to her words.
Lily Johnson, youngest of the Johnsons, Irving’s younger sister, saw what her grandma was like and could not help but shiver. Was that still her domineering grandmother? Was she secretly replaced? Lily thought of how her grandma had scolded her aunt the day before and then looked at how she was talking to Annabelle… They were completely different people!
“I heard that Eliza doesn’t like her, Irving, do you think this cousin–in–law is pretending in front of us? She’s actually not that obedient?” Lily whispered into Irving’s ear. She was very suspicious of the authenticity of Annabelle. It was fine if it was real, but if it was fake, how amazing must she be at acting to be able to coax the whole family?
“What do you mean she doesn’t like her?” Irving glanced at Lily. “We had dinner together yesterday. Annabelle is very close to Eliza! They even planned to cooperate to open a flower shop!”
