A sharp slap landed on the maid's face, and she instinctively covered her cheek as her expression darkened. Ariana's eyes narrowed as she glared at the young, beautiful woman before her. "Avery, right?" she sneered." Since you address me as Ms. Torrey, you should know your place. Who gave you permission to call me by my name?"

"You!"

Avery had been working for the Lodge family for a long time, and because of her good looks, she had always looked down on Ariana.

She had seen firsthand how lowly Ariana had been when she first arrived.

Ariana remembered how Avery had frequently given her terrible advice, leading her to embarrass herself in front

of Brian.

Now, seeing Avery act so arrogantly in front of her again, Ariana decided she wouldn't let it slide this time. "Ms. Torrey, no matter what happens, I'm still a maid in the Lodge family! Slapping me is the same as slapping Mr. Lodge's face! I'll tell him what you did! You've ruined the clothes Mr. Lodge gave you, so don't be surprised if you get kicked out of the Lodge residence!"

Avery glared at Ariana before storming upstairs with the torn clothes.

Later that evening, Brian was still seething over the business deal he had lost to William.

When he returned home, he found Avery sobbing at the table.

Brian furrowed his brow, and Emily, who was standing next to him, stepped forward. "Has Mr. Lodge's dinner been prepared? Why are you crying?"

"It's Ms. Torrey. She tore up the clothes you gave

her!'

Avery held out the shredded garments for Brian to see.

His expression hardened as he took in the sight of the ruined clothes.

Earlier in the day, the memory of Ariana leaving him alone with Evelyn had left a bitter feeling, and now, the sight of the shredded clothes only deepened his growing frustration.

"Where's Ariana?"

Brian was already seething with anger, and Avery couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Feigning innocence, she replied, "She's upstairs! After tearing up her clothes, she went straight to bed. It's obvious she doesn't take Mr. Lodge seriously!"

As Avery spoke, Brian's expression darkened, and he stormed toward the second floor.

Emily attempted to stop him, but Brian ignored her and pushed open Ariana's door.

The sound of running water echoed from within.

"Mr. Lodge, Ms. Torrey is taking a shower. Perhaps..." Emily began.

"Petty tricks," Brian scoffed.

"She thinks she can avoid my questions so easily? I've seen this kind of game before."

Without hesitation, Brian yanked open the bathroom door. For a moment, his eyes were met with a brief glimpse of a naked figure.

Her soft skin, flawless figure, and the subtle curve of her form...

Brian hadn't expected Ariana to actually be in the shower.

Instinctively, he turned and rushed out of the bathroom.

Ariana remained unfazed as she wrapped herself in a bath towel and stepped out of the bathroom.

Emily noticed Brian's sour expression and nervously spoke up, "Mr. Lodge, you...."

"Get out!" Brian snapped.

Startled, Emily quickly retreated, closing the door behind her.

Ariana couldn't help but sneer. "Mr. Lodge, spying on someone while they're showering is quite an unusual hobby, don't you think?"

Brian's expression darkened further. "Ariana, you did that on purpose,

didn't you?"
