Chapter 432
For some reason, Bridget felt inexplicably guilty because of his words, and somehow did not dare to look at him. She pretended to be sleepy and did not say anything.
Jacob turned to look at her. It was obvious that she didn't want to speak. So he didn't say anything more.
Soon, the car stopped at a hotpot restaurant.
Jacob came down and wanted to open the door for Bridget, but Bridget came down herself.
The two of them walked in together. There were a lot of people in the restaurant. A waiter came up to receive them. "How many of you?"
Jacob glanced at him and said. "Two."
The waiter made a gesture and said, "Please follow me."
The waiter took them to a table for two and handed them the menu.
Jacob gave the menu to Bridget. "Order whatever you want.”
Bridget glanced at him. "Of course, I will."
Jacob smiled. "Okay, please.”
Bridget didn't bother to be restrained. She ordered a lot of dishes for the two of them, just like a willful little girl who had not grown up, and wanted to act against him.
Jacob leaned back in his chair and looked at her.
In the past, Jacob thought that Bridget was good-looking, but she had a bad temper. He thought that although she had been trained in the army. After all, she had grown up in an affluent family, and she was somewhat delicate. Now it seemed that she was not delicate, but childish.
Thinking about it, Jacob couldn't help but smile again.
Bridget was carrying a piece of snow beef into her mouth when she looked up and saw Jacob looking at her and smiling.
She thought he was laughing at her table manners.
She felt upset. Then she swallowed the meat and waved at the waiter. "I want more dishes here. The corner of Jacob's mouth twitched. "You want more? You can hardly finish what you've ordered. Stop ordering, or they'll be wasted.”
Bridget ignored him and called the waiter over. She said deliberately loud. "Give me a kidney of pig, a kidney of cow and a kidney of sheep.”
Jacob was speechless.
The waiter was speechless, too.
Bridget glanced at Jacob, then at the waiter. She waved at him and said in his ear, but her voice was loud. "My husband suffers from the deficiency of the kidney and needs something nourishing. Please hurry up.”
The waiter lowered his head as if he understood what she meant.
After that, Bridget continued to eat with her head down.
Jacob was speechless.
The waiter glanced at Jacob quietly, then quickly lowered his eyes and said, "I'll serve them up right away."
Then he retreated.
This made the people around them look over from time to time. They wanted to see the man with kidney deficiency who needed to eat the kidneys of pigs, cows and sheep to nourish himself. Jacob propped up his face with one hand and blocked his face. He was roaring in his heart and he wanted to shout out loud that he had no kidney deficiency at all.
Soon, the waiter brought up all the kidneys that Bridget ordered. Whether accidentally or intentionally, the three dishes were especially large.
The waiter carried three plates of pig, cow and sheep's kidneys and walked among the tables, creating a spectacular scene.
Finally, the waiter placed the kidneys in front of Jacob.
Bridget waved at Jacob. "Just have them. Don't waste.”
The gaze around him made Jacob want to slap the table and leave.
"Bridget." Jacob's voice was warm and gentle, like a spring breeze. "Do you have any ideas about giving me this kind of tonic?"
"Ah?" Bridget looked at Jacob blankly. "Your kidney is deficient. I'll fix it for you. What ideas can I have? I just want you to be healthy."
Jacob leaned forward and his voice was low as if he was teasing her. "Bridget, you haven't tried it before. How do you know my kidney is deficient?"
Bridget pretended not to hear him. She lowered her head and kept stuffing food into her mouth. She even put food on Jacob's plate. "Hurry up and eat. We can't waste it."
Jacob rubbed his forehead and smiled at Bridget's behavior.
After dinner, Jacob called the waiter to pay the bill.
Bridget ate too much. When she stood up abruptly from her seat, she sprained her waist and frowned in pain. Jacob asked casually, "Does your waist still hurt?"
The waiter, who had not gone far, turned around and looked at them, lost for words
One of them had kidney deficiency and the other had a backache...
