Chapter 598 Seeking Help
Sebastian and Madeline were taken aback when they discovered that there were guests at Leigh's residence.
Leigh explained, "I clearly stated that you must first eliminate the allergen and then take the allergy medicine. Otherwise, no
matter how much medicine you take, it won't work."
"My brother took me to the hospital for allergen monitoring," Riley replied with a troubled expression. "The test results showed
that I am allergic to lilac pollen. After returning home, I got rid of all the lilac flowers in the house. There is no longer any
connection between my family and lilac flowers, but my allergy symptoms still come and go. Sometimes, it's mild, whereas it
might be severe at other times.
"I went to see another doctor, and the doctor said that there are too many things in this world to test one by one to confirm my
allergies. They said I can only be cautious in my daily life, avoid things I haven't come into contact with before, stick to foods I've
eaten without allergies, and refrain from going to the garden or buying fresh flowers..."
She counted off a list of over a dozen medical advice on her fingers and concluded in distress, "I've followed all the doctor's
advice, but my condition hasn't improved at all."
She was almost desperate at this point.
For eight or nine days out of ten recently, her face was covered in hives, making her look unattractive. For this reason, she didn't
want to go out or see anyone, causing her to almost become depressed.
"Didn't your brother tell you what Madeline and I said to him last time?" Leigh glanced at Derek.
"Well... I didn't tell Riley because we didn't have any concrete evidence, and I didn't want her to worry unnecessarily."
"Oh..." Leigh shrugged. "It's your call."
Derek remained silent.
Riley looked at him in puzzlement. "Derek, what did they tell you?"
He hesitated upon her question.
"Derek, I don't think there's any need to hide it." Kieran placed his hand on his shoulder and patted it soothingly while looking at
Riley. "Madeline and Dr. Shefford suspect that your allergy is intentional."
"Intentional?" Riley asked in disbelief, "What do you mean?"
"It means that someone knows you are allergic to lilac pollen, so they deliberately sprinkle some lilac powder or something
similar on your food or clothes," Kieran explained. "Pollen particles are tiny, and if someone intentionally exposed you to them, it
could have happened without you realizing it."
Riley widened her eyes, and the hair on her arms stood on end. "Someone is intentionally trying to harm me?" She then raised
her hand and touched her face, which was covered in bumps. Her complexion paled as she looked at Derek with a panicked
expression. "Derek..."
"It's alright." He comforted her, patting her on the back. "It's just speculation. It might not be true."
