“he right back.” Cedric ruffled her hair and smiled lovingly before heading toward the kitchen.
The then returned carrying a steaming bowl of oatmeal. “Eat slowly. It’s hot.”
When he placed it before her, Maia noticed his fingers were red and swollen. “What happened to your hand?”
“I got burned,” he said casually.
A rich man like him must have never cooked anything in his whole life before.
“Shouldn’t you apply some cream?” she asked stiffly, trying not to sound concerned.
He smiled. “It’s no big deal.”
Maia then started to eat slowly. His gesture would have been very moving if it were the past.
However, it was different now.
Suddenly, Maia’s phone rang again.
When she answered the call, Buck’s voice said, “Check out the trending topic on Twitter! Someone released videos, chat
records, and voice messages that show Zera has been fooling around overseas and in the set! This has diverted public attention
away from us!”
Instead of checking Twitter, Maia looked up at Cedric. He wasn’t behind this, was he?
Reading her mind, Cedric told her truthfully. “It was me.”
Suddenly, Maia coughed violently.
“Be careful.” He got up and patted her back, concerned. “Are you all right?”

“Maia, who’s that? The voice sounds familiar...” Buck asked.
Flustered, Maia hung up.
“Why were you panicking? We weren’t having an affair,” Cedric reasoned.
What the fuck?
Maia gritted her teeth and asked, “Why are you doing this? Zera is your fiancée. Don’t you worry-”
Before Maia could finish, he kissed her hard. She struggled in vain as he held onto her arms tightly.
As he bends The Lace, the war den of breath.
Cedric then said, “I didn’t wont the scandal to impact you or torn you into some set of publie
Speechless, Maia flushed.
Anyway, consider the kiss my reward,” he said.
Exasperated, she tried to hit him, but he grabbed her fist.
Maia broke free and said, “I’ll be fine. I’m cutting Bruno loose. Besides, even if you didn’t expose Zeta, I would have found a way
to end her career in the business. She’s unworthy to be an idol.”
Maia then called Buck again.
“Why did you hang up on me?” Buck sounded puzzled.

“A cat knocked my phone to the floor,” Mala lied.
Baffled, Buck asked, “You have a cat? Since when?”
Maia didn’t answer him. “I told you to dig up dirt on Zera, didn’t I? Release all the evidence you’ve got online now.”
If there were enough scandals, Zera would lose her fans, and her endorsement partners would scramble to replace her. This
would effectively end her career for good.
“Right away, Maia.”
About five minutes later, detailed evidence of Zera bullying newcomers and stealing jobs went viral online. There were videos
and even name lists.
The fans of the bullied artists soon flooded Zera’s Twitter account and started to attack her.
Cedric smiled. “Happy?”
“Of course. She deserves this.”
“I can make you happier,” he said. That was what Cedric cared about.
As Maia gave him a puzzled look, he took out his phone and retweeted all the evidence against
Zera.
At first, Zera’s fans were still trying to defend her, but now they were stumped. The fact that Cedric was retweeting the evidence
showed that the allegations were all real.

This triggered a change of attitude among the fans.
“What the fuck? Cedric retweeted! It looks like the allegations were all real.”

“Isn’t Zera Cedric’s fiancée? Why the hell did he do it?”
“Can’t you see? Cedric is still in love with his ex–wife, Maia Burgess!”
Cedric saw the comment and liked it. He wanted to tell everyone that he still loved her.
Maia couldn’t stand it anymore. Did the man know what he was doing?
“You’re out of your mind!” She put down her spoon and got up, wanting to leave.
At this moment, beams of car headlights shone through the French window. Maia looked out and saw Zera and Rita getting out
of a car one after another and rushing over..
“Cedric, your fiancee sure acts fast,”
“Do you want to hide?” Cedric asked calmly.
Maia gave off a brave look. “Why should I? Are you scared of her seeing me here?”
He smiled and whispered into her ear. “I’m just scared of you leaving, darling.”
Cedric then marched toward the door.
Maia glared after him. “I’m not your darling!”
Suddenly, Zera’s crying came from the door. “Cedric, you must help me! Those allegations are false! I’ve never... dated those
men or bullied the newcomers!”
