When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 83

Chapter 83

"Honestly, I don't get it. It's just a pair of shoes. Why are you acting like it's the end of the world? Is it really worth all this fuss?" Zayn asked,

Josephine felt her chest tighten. He still thought it was only about the shoes

She wanted to explain how much humiliation those shoes had caused her and Winnie. However, the words caught in her throat. Talking to him felt like a waste of breath. He would never understand her pain or stand in her shoes. "Zayn, I'm giving you one hour. If Winnie hasn't received the shoes and an apology by then, I'll call the police and

d file for enforcement," Josephine said. After hanging up, she felt a sharp throbbing pain in her temples, she hadn't slept all night and was already exhausted, but the stress from Zayn and Nadine's behavior only made things worse. As a maid passed by, Josephine weakly called out, "Do you have any painkillers?"

""Ms. Dunn, are you feeling unwell?" the maid asked.

"I have a headache. Please get me the painkillers," Josephine replied

"Right away, Ms. Dunn," the maid replied, noticing her pale complexion. She quickly went to fetch the medicine and called Mason to inform him of Josephine's condition

Midway through the call, she gasped, "Ms. Dunn!"

By the time Mason rushed over, Josephine was already semi-conscious.

"Ms. Dunn! Ms. Dunn! Mason called out, gently shaking her.

Suddenly, he remembered ber recent mild concussion and dared not move her further. He carefully picked her up and placed her in the backseat of his car, heading straight for the hospital.

Fortunately, the diagnosis wasn't severe-just low blood sugar and extreme fatigue, Mason let out a sigh of relief, but as he looked at Josephine's pale face lying on the bed, a wave of regret washed over him.

If he had known she was so careless with her own health, he would have accompanied her to Crestwood. He couldn't help but wonder how attending a simple birthday party had left her in such a state. This couldn't go on. She needed a nutritionist to help her recover

As Mason mulled over solutions, Josephine's phone suddenly rang. He glanced at the screen and saw that it was Ethan calling. Before he could speak, a soft and deep voice came through from the other end. "Josephine."

Mason nearly choked on his own spit. Ethan really had a talent for taking a high-pitched voice.

"Erhan, if you've got a chronic sore throat, try some lozenges,"

i quipped.

There was a brief silence on the other end before Ethan asked, "Why are you answering her calls?

Mason sighed. "Ms. Dunn passed out. She's at the hospital."

A few minutes later, Ethan arrived at the hospital. He had also struggled to sleep the night before, anticipating their first date. He had called intending to invite her to lunch and then go to get her glasses, but now she was unwell again "Ethan, I have to attend a meeting with the production team to finalize the interview schedule. Can you stay with her for a while? If she wakes up, take her to eat something. Make sure she eats well," Mason instructed. Ethan nodded. "Got it. You go ahead."

Mason quickly headed for the door. However, he suddenly stopped and tumed back toward Ethan. "Ethan, your voice is already magnetic. No need to overdo it," he teased before lustily leaving

Ethan's face reddened slightly. He sat down at the bedside, trying to keep calm. He hadn't expected Mason to catch him trying out the vocal techniques he had leamed.

for her phone.

Several hours later, Josephine's phone vibrated, jolting her awake. She looked around at the hospital room in confusion before instinctively reaching fo It was Zayn calling. She cleared her throat and pressed the answer button.
