Chapter 12
Chapter 12
When Henry heard my father’s name again, his eyes immediately turned red.
The next second, he fell to the floor.
“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry…”
Tears quickly welled up in his eyes, and within two seconds he had already cried to the point of convulsions.
Xena’s face was full of disdain and unwillingness. When she was taken away, she bent down and whispered in Henry’s ear, “Watching the person most important to you die so tragically, do you understand
Bain now?”
Henry took the time along the way to calm down.
But he still sent me a lot of messages.
He seemed unable to accept the fact that I already left him.
When they arrived at the police station, he demanded to interrogate her with red
eyes.
His stubborn look seemed to have returned to the time when he was obsessed with solving cases. He felt that I was just hidden in a place where no one noticed.
But after the interrogation, Xena’s cold gaze and precise answer made him completely collapse.
He jumped over the table and wanted to kill her.
Daniel quickly stopped him.
The intern police officer took him to the next room.
He stared at the dark wall in a daze.
He murmured softly, “Yvette, why didn’t you explain to me? Why?
“Why didn’t you tell me you were innocent?”
I covered my mouth with both hands, trying not to cry too loudly.
That day I was held hostage by those criminals.
When they were about to be executed, my father, the best detective, rushed directly to Xena.
He had already guessed Xena’s identity.
But when Xena saw Henry in the distance, she immediately turned herself into a
hostage in the hands of the criminals.
She tried to knock me out, but failed.
She stood where I was and shot my father.
I used my last bit of strength to stop it, but the bullet grazed my pinky and hit my father’s heart.

Chapter 12
Henry happened to pass by the window at this time. From his point of view, it was the hostage who shot my father.
Soon after, the hostages were released.
By the time he jumped over several guardrails and rushed over, I had lost half a finger and was hit hard on the head, falling to the ground and losing consciousness.
The only hostage in the criminals‘ hands was Xena.
From that day on, Henry never looked at me again.
I became the person he hated the most.
