Chapter 42
Chapter 42 Are You Sure Let Me Go?
Cordelia understood that Milo wanted to support her.
She thought for a long time, wondering if she should confess her identity to Elijah.
At this moment, Imogen sent her a message: [Cordelia, don't blame me for not reminding you. You are too low-key, and everyone in the circle thinks Eva is Elijah’s wife. You see]
A screenshot of the group chat followed it.
Some of those nicknamed Cordelia were familiar with, and some didn't. But everyone regarded Eva as Elijah’s wife and flattered her in various ways.
The most important thing was that Elijah was also in the group. And he didn’t explain, obviously conniving Eva's behavior.
But Cordelia, the genuine “Mrs. Hansen,” was excluded.
Looking at the screenshot sent by Imogen, Cordelia clenched her fingers tightly and her gaze
cold.
Seeing that she didn’t respond for a long time, the impatient Imogen sent another message: [Do you want me to drag you into the group?] Cordelia replied quickly: [No.]
Imogen immediately sent an emoji of beating her chest, as if she felt wronged for her.
Cordelia knew Imogen was doing it for her, so she rarely said a high- profile big talk.
Cordelia said: [I will let Elijah bring me into their circle!]
The following day, Elijah went out early.
Cordelia took her time, got stuck, and showed up at the door of the café’s box at nine o'clock sharp.
“Elijah, this doctor is too unpunctual. It is boring to wait for him.”
Eva's coquettish voice came from inside the room.
Then Elijah’s deep voice sounded, coaxing patiently, “Be patient.” Cordelia immediately opened the door.
She saw Eva leaning against Elijah’s body. And the two were very close. So, they must sit together in such a large room, right?
Cordelia lowered her head
to control her temperature.
Many things had happened recently, which made her less confident in controlling her temper. And she was afraid that she would lose her temper in public one day.
“Why are you here?” Elijah frowned, looking at the woman who approached calmly.
Eva rolled her eyes and said, “Cordelia, did you misunderstand? Elijah and I came here to do business. Why did you come here, too? You don't trust Elijah too much, do you?”
While speaking, Elijah had already stood up, walked towards Cordelia with big strides, pulled her wrist, and walked out.
“You come out with me.”
Cordelia lazily let him pull, and the two came to the box door together. Elijah said seriously, “Cordelia, have I indulged you too much recently? You have gone too far.”
Cordelia looked at him expressionlessly, without saying a word, but felt chills in her heart.
What did this man do to her? She just didn't understand.
“Look at your questioning tone. Maybe, in your heart, I was just such a dodder flower, and I couldn't live without you.”
Seeing that she didn't speak, Elijah said impatiently, “Okay, I still have things to do. I don't bother to argue with you, and you can go.”
After saying that, he turned around and wanted to return to the box. “Mr. Hansen, are you sure you want to let me go?” Cordelia said quietly.
Elijah’s hand that pushed the door paused, turned to look at her, and then glanced at the time.
It was already five past nine, and Milo's apprentice hadn't come yet. And Cordelia had just arrived at nine o'clock...
“Are you Mr. Carter's apprentice? Miss Carter?”
Cordelia slightly hooked her lips. “Yes, I am Evie Carter. Can I enter now?"
