Chapter Day 11- Apocolypse
is when my life lights up.
You're the worst one
for thinking I would hurt you.~
My life has spiraled downhill into an apocalypse. I feel like I was dragged to hell by an army of the undead and forced to stare at the ceiling as I have been for many days now.
"If the world ended now, would you be happy?" Luke asked me.
"Yes. I want it to end?"
"Would you be scared?" Luke asked.
"No. Not at all."
"What if the end of the world was worse," Luke joked. "Wouldn't it be scary?"
"What's worse than this?" I ask, laughing a little at the dark humor. "I don't think anything is worse than this."
"In an apocalypse, they say the undead will rise up from the ground and chase us and gobble us up and there would be creatures of great immensity that would come up and tear us to shreds. Do you believe in such things? "
"I do. Very much so. I believe there are zombies that wait for us to feel too badly about ourselves that will come up and take us underground to hell for even thinking it." I pause. "If there were an apocalypse, would you protect me?"
"I would. I would build an underground shed and we would hide there and live off the rations I gathered."
"How interesting." My stomach growls and I apologize. "I'm sorry. I'm just so hungry I can't take it. All I can think about are bad and negative things. I never used to be so negative. Not ever. But I feel like pessimism has taken me over. What do you think of that? Does that bother you?"
"I too am struck down by a heavy and pessimistic heart. I am hungry and sick and my illness is affecting my mind. I wish there was something I could do to save us now, but I can't seem to think of a thing. And as the days go by and I get weaker and weaker, I can't seem to do anything at all to save us, Angel."
"Can you try and reach your friend."
"Yes," he breathes, "I can try." He closes his eyes and his face is strained as he struggles to activate his telepathy.
"Tell them we need food," she mumbled, her vision blurring. She rubbed hands over her eyes and groaned. She was starting to feel ill as well.
He blinks and opens his eyes. "I'm sorry, love, no signal. And my telepathy waning as my health deteriorates. We just have to hold on a little longer until the moon is full. I promise it'll work out. I swear."
