Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter Epilogue

The sun streamed through the window halls creating a brightness that was almost blinding. He looked out the window and watched as he watched the unique city below, as it reminded him of a machine with individuals pieces working about. He could see of in the far distance the water flickering light between a few buildings but not blinding like the tower that surrounded this building in particular. He continued forth with anticipation. He wondered how he was going to speak the first words, would he sound confident or would he sound not sure of himself. He still wasn’t sure how to play off his character as he did not want to scare her or make her anymore suspicious then she would be. At a distance he could see wheels running through her head debating and doubting. He did not want ignite the fire just yet, he wanted to play. Enjoy everything while it lasts. He needed to be subtle yet enough to make herself doubt. This will be a fun few years if only he plays it right.

He steps before the door already hearing shuffling throughout the room as he is still organizing things in her new office. He knocks letting the sound echo throughout the door. Everything ceases and he hears her coming. He prepares himself and smiles, but soon enough another friendly smiles opens the door revealing a gorgeous woman who still looks eighteen but that is what happens when you choose to live forever, but she has wisdom. He red eyes shine but look weary as if she not been sleeping well. Her skin smooth and bit pale but radiant as if she is glowing. Golden hair that reached her mid back and gave flawless eaves and curls. She though forced herself to look comfort but still had rigid stances to how she perceives people.

She looks upon the man raising a eyebrow wondering what the wants.

“Yes?” her voice had changed since the change, an elegances flows as if she not of this world.

He speaks, “Hello,” his voice also smooth but rough, “Sorry for the disturbance but I am Amos Pulvis,” he extends a hand out to her and she takes it and luckily feels no heat or coolness form him, “I will be your co-worker in the coming school year, mainly teaching about powers and control,” he finishes as he still stares at this beauty.

She gives a faint smile nodding, “Nice to meet your acquaintance Amos, I am Asema Darksky, also teaching powers and will be training warriors at the Academy,” she gives a smile. “Would you like to come in?” She offered to the still ruffled up desk.

He nods and make his way into the room, making himself comfortable into a chair that was placed by the desk.

“So?... have you been teaching he long or you also new?” She asks, catching his attention back to her, as she walked through the room and saw on the opposite chair of him and bean organizing papers. Probably the ones for class attendance.

He leans in the chair and crosses his legs, “I been here for two or three years, I am not sure it all blends together. Why you teaching now?” He returns the question.

She laughs as if was funny joke to herself, “Well I used to fight battles with reds, and got stabbed almost dying, with a particular immortal blade, so I decided to teach to keep myself alive and be close to my children, as they will be starting school here in the next weeks.” She replies and places a few folders into a cabinet by the door.

He nods, letting her know he heard and peers out the window where the city zips by quietly. “that is major transition… so you must have known Thuse? Or Brock? Who fights and who investigate?” He asks, wondering.

She answers, shuffling over to the windows and looking out for a moment, “Brock was the one who fight with me and my husband, and Thuse was in the investigating…but I don’t think you hear.” She walks back to the chair plops down, “Thuse is now a in asylum, as apparently he gone crazy, they say something possessed him, demon of some sort, they are praying to Aenor for healing.”

He shakes his head, “That is a shame, I heard he was a nice fella,”

She nods her in confirmation, “Yeah that what everyone says…but I never got that feeling.” Then looks around her, clasping her hands together, obviously she now seems nervous, either he was starting to radiate off his other scent or power or she was still getting to this new face. If she only knew, she would quake.

He smiles back nodding, “Well I hope we can get along this term and see how things go,” he chimes.

She nods, “Yes, interested to see where we will pull differences and yet learn from one another.”

He smiles again, waves goodbye leaving her to close the door again. He begins to silently hum to himself knowing the next few years will be pleasure as he beings to get close to her. Knowing one day she will be his.
