Chapter 736
Chapter 736
"Pregnant?" Everyone was shocked!
Samantha nodded. "It's likely. Her symptoms are very similar to my sister-in-law's morning sickness! Oh, I never thought I'd become a godmother so soon!"
She sighed. "With Hera's and Bernard's good looks, that baby will be absolutely stunning! I
wonder if it'll be a boy or a girl. I want both! Maybe they'll have twins!"
"Sweetheart, since you love kids so much, why don't we have one too?" Shaun wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Sure! That way, our baby can have a playmate. And they can marry when they grow up!" Samantha replied enthusiastically.
"It might not be..." Johnson wanted to mention that Hera hadn't shown signs of pregnancy in his earlier check-ups. Then, he reconsidered.
He hadn't specifically looked for it. If she really was pregnant, she would need to be careful with her health, especially since she only recently had surgery. A pregnancy now might be too taxing on her body.
"I remember my cousin having the same reaction when she was pregnant," Aaron chimed in. "Morning sickness is a common pregnancy symptom. Many women can't stand the smell of meat. Hera's symptoms seem like morning sickness," Nathan added.
Listening to everyone's comments, Nicholas couldn't help but curse, "Damn! Bernard's such a beast!"
Bernard was never a stickler for rules. And he was one step ahead this time!
"No way! Hera's still so young. How could this happen? I can't accept it. Our engagement hasn't even been canceled yet!" Thiago protested, but he quickly changed his tune. "But if Hera insists on having the baby, I guess I can accept it. I'll just help Bernard raise the child."
"As if you could afford it! My family could raise the child just fine!" Nicholas shot back.
Thiago huffed. "Then, I'll be the first dad, Tyler can be the second, and you can be the third."
Nicholas yelled, "Why should I be the third?"
Thiago reasoned, "Because you're the youngest and you met Hera the latest!"
Nicholas fell silent. Damn, he had no comeback.
In the restroom, Hera retched but only managed to spit up some saliva. Whatever she had eaten earlier had been digested, leaving her stomach empty.
"Are you alright?" Bernard handed her a tissue and an opened bottle of water.
Hera took the water and rinsed her mouth before drinking it. She felt much better after and nodded. "Yes."
"Thanks for enduring this." Bernard reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. His eyes were brimming with love and affection.
Hera quirked a brow. What did he mean by that? What was she enduring?
Now that Hera thought about it, the memory of Linda's gruesome appearance still disgusted her. It was worse than any injury she had ever seen on a patient.
"Maybe I was just too excited these past few days, and now, my body's reacting," she explained.
After all, Linda was finally dead. Of course, she was happy about that.
Bernard's eyes lit up at this. Had she already realized she was pregnant? The idea of becoming a father thrilled Bernard.
"You've worked hard. I'll take full responsibility." He gently stroked her cheek.
