Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 663

Chapter 663

Ever since Bernard started dating Hera and experienced what it was like to have a home, he found it hard to adjust to those days when his life was all about work with no room for a relationship.

Nowadays, he was always in a hurry to finish work so that he could go back early and see Hera. Time seemed to fly by quickly whenever he was with her. Yet, time passed by unusually slowly whenever he didn't see her. That made him feel rather lonely.

If only Hera belonged to him exclusively and could forever stay by his side. Bernard wished he could hide her away so that no one could take her away from him.

Bernard's gaze turned conflicted while he got lost in thoughts. It was as if an idea was starting to form in his mind. By the time he came back to his senses, he realized that Douglas had taken a detour.

"Why didn't you take Redwood Road?"

Douglas uneasily cleared his throat. "There's traffic there."

He relaxed when Bernard said nothing. Douglas drove steadily and arrived at the courtyard house entrance at exactly 12:00 am.

Bernard got out of the car. After opening the back door, he realized the courtyard lights were on. Hera, who had been on his mind the whole time, stood in the center of the courtyard with a smile.

"Happy birthday, Bernard."

Bernard glanced at her. His emotions went through many ups and downs like a rollercoaster. He took wide strides toward Hera before holding her tightly in his arms. He wished he could merge their bodies together.

"So, you do remember. Did you purposely hide it from me?" Bernard pressed his forehead against Hera's.

"Just like how you surprised me the last time." Before Hera finished speaking, Bernard kissed her right away, their lips locked in a passionate dance.

Hera was almost running out of breath from the kiss, so she placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away." I have a surprise for you."

Bernard pinched her nose. "You're really naughty, so I'm going to teach you a lesson tonight. You won't even be able to get out of bed for the next three days."

Hera's ears turned warm, and she reminded him, "Don't be so explicit."

"Can't take it already? You'll be shaking all over by the time I'm done with you."

"I already told you to stop it." Hera was strangely annoyed. "I baked a cake for you. It's in the living room."

"I don't want to eat any cake. Eating you out is good enough."

"Stop." Hera wanted to say more, but Bernard refused to give her a chance by kissing her again. While kissing, he picked her up in his arms and walked into the house.

While walking toward the western wing, he made many suggestive remarks. His words made Hera's cheeks burn, and her ears turned slightly red.

Bernard always liked to talk dirty whenever they were in bed. That was fine since the door to the bedroom was usually closed. But everything sounded very awkward to Hera now.

She wanted to stop him from saying more. But the more she tried to protest and resist him, the more eager Bernard became, and he kept deepening their kisses.

Bernard held Hera in his arms, his lips still on hers. Just as they entered the hall, they saw a group standing in the living room, staring at them in shock.

The living room had been decorated for his birthday party. There was cake, fruit, and red wine on the table.

In fact, all those gathered here were the same people who claimed that they were too busy to come out for a drink. Why were they all here? Were they here to surprise him?

Bernard and Hera wordlessly took in everyone's shocked expressions. All their friends seemed to have the same idea. They never expected that Bernard could be so dirty-minded in private.

Hera didn't even need to think about it. They must have heard everything Bernard said earlier.

She was so embarrassed that she wished she could find a hole to bury him inside. It was far too shameful.
