Chapter 97 The Last Supper
James was anxious.
Because of James's bad temper, the atmosphere in the conference room was wired. The higher-ups were very careful, but the more cautious they were, the angrier James became. As a result, everyone was suffering.
"Nolan, this year's planning has been changed five or six times. My subordinates have worked overtime for several days. If Mr. James still refuses to pass it, it would be killing." One of the higher-ups couldn't take it anymore and then whispered to Nolan.
Nolan adjusted the gold-rimmed glasses and had no way.
When James got up early in the morning, he was quite calm. When he checked his phone, his eyes were as warm as spring.
However, something happened at noon. Suddenly, it was overcast and the temperature plunged below freezing. Nolan also felt strange.
"Mr. James is strict with you because he is looking forward to your project. So, cheer up." As an assistant, Nolan had to help adjust the mood of the employees.
The higher-ups were helpless and could only leave with the documents.
Nolan took a deep breath and went into the office with a stack of documents.
Before, James had been on business twenty days a month, but because he accompanied Kara to revise, he avoided many business trips. A group of vice presidents was so exhausted that they called Nolan to complain.
"Mr. James, these documents..."
"Cancel the meeting in the afternoon. Also, bring over a dessert."
Dumfounded, Nolan stared at James. He knew that James never ate desserts.
"Don't you understand?" Seeing Nolan staring at him, James put on a gloomy face.
"I'll go now."
As soon as James's face turned cold, Nolan was frightened. He then canceled the afternoon meeting and bought a dessert.
James checked the time and opened WeChat.
Soon Kara replied to him, and then they made a video call.
"Uncle James, is it afternoon over there?"
"Yes."
It had only been two days since he last saw her, and James was eager to see her, although he couldn't tell why.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have asked Nolan what kind of communication application those at her age used.
"What did you eat for dinner?" James asked casually after chatting with her for a while.
Kara replied seriously, "I ate noodles and some cold dishes with Donald. He seems to be here to do something at school. Since he met me, he treated me to a meal." After Kara finished speaking, James became even colder.
Perhaps it was through the phone that Kara did not notice his change and continued.
"Uncle James, let me tell you a secret. When I saw the questions during the art exam, I thought Master Larry to be the one who let me know in advance."
"Today, Donald told me that he designed the questions according to the previous art exams, and then assigned them as my homework."
James listened calmly, turning more unsettled.
Besides Eli, there was Donald!
Donald was an adult man, so he wouldn't waste his time setting questions for no reason. Moreover, in TV dramas, it was the easiest for something to happen between the pupils of the same master. The more James thought about it, the more irritated he became. She had been so popular before she grew up. When she became an adult, wouldn't he have more rivals in love?
"Uncle James, you seem unhappy. Did I say something wrong?"
Kara kept talking, but he remained silent. His eyes were so cold that she shivered.
"Don't get too close to Donald!" He ordered coldly.
Kara was puzzled. "Why?"
"You've just met him, and he's looking for information for you to guess the questions. Have you thought about the reason?" James asked coldly. Kara blinked in surprise.
When Donald said that he had worked out a general trend, she was stunned, but she didn't think about his intention.
She asked him casually, and Donald explained that he also had a sister, and he wanted to help her for she looked like his sister.
Seeing Kara frightened into a daze, James took a deep breath.
"Kara, trust me. There's no good intention in this world for no reason. Stay away from him later!"
"Okay."
Kara felt strange, but she could not refute him and only agreed.
To quickly change the topic, James taught her how to pass the English exam. When it came to learning, Kara did not dare to be distracted and focused on taking notes, absorbing the way he said. The teacher always asked students to do exercises as much as possible, but James told her to do fewer and understand the questions she had done.
If she just finished the exercises without knowing what she wrote, it was diligence of low quality.
Then she would forget those questions immediately because she only knew the result but not the reason.
In this state, instead of learning some knowledge, she smudged a few pieces of paper.
Now that the Internet was developed, it was easy to get information, but hard to learn some knowledge.
That was why many people on the Internet were complaining that they couldn't lead a better life with so much knowledge.
Kara seriously tried to figure out what he said. She felt that James was not only teaching her to learn, but also shaping her moral values.
This should be the legendary elite thinking. She chuckled as she bit the tip of her pen.
"Kara, have you heard anything about Elisa?" Arya asked her.
"What happened to her?"
"It is said that she was accused of plagiarism by an art teacher of University A. Mr. Ross was furious and decided to cancel her college entrance examination qualification this year. Elisa was not convinced and wanted to go to court. Mr. Ross said that if she intended to do that, she would never have the chance to participate in the college entrance examination." Arya sneered.
"Plagiarizing in the art exam?" Kara was dumbfounded.
Two days ago, Elisa bragged in front of Kara that she would be admitted to University A. It turned out that her confidence came from plagiarism. So surprising.
"It's better to be a bit more careful. One who doesn't admit to the bad things he did might end up miserable."
Arya implied something, glancing at the female students beside her.
Those students once spoke ill of Kara behind her back, so they lowered their heads guiltily and did not dare to provoke her again.
Kara shrugged for she had no time to care about someone else's news now. She wanted to devote herself to studying.
However, after school at dusk, she was disturbed.
One man in black appeared in front of her and introduced himself as a bodyguard of the Hemming family. Zoey asked him to invite her to the Hemmings' for dinner. Kara frowned. She had never seen Zoey before, so why would she suddenly ask her for dinner?
