Twin Soul

Book 3: Chapter 12 (11/12)

Kain wasn’t naive enough to believe Arthur could somehow help him get his souls back from Watcher Tykan. Hagar heard Arthur talk about Kain’s tainted souls. Afraid Kain would fall for Arthur’s trick, Hagar said, “Son, I have unlocked an ultimate ability named [Souls Keeper] and it allows me to absorb the corpse of the opponents that I have killed to use them as puppets later. Even though it’s very much different compared to souls being collected by a Watcher. From my understanding, if your souls were collected by any Watcher including Watcher Tykan himself, then he is the only one that can release them. I don’t have much time left in this realm. Let’s defeat the Mages Council together with that Arthur guy and I will speak with Watcher Tykan about freeing your souls later.”

Kain nodded his head acknowledging Hagar’s advice and cleared his head of thinking about whether or not Arthur could help him out about fixing his tainted souls.

Kain said, “I understand, father.”

While Hagar held the key to release any souls collected by Watcher Tykan, he didn't have permission to freely release any souls that he wanted. That wasn't going to be a problem since Hagar was willing to sacrifice everything he had to help Kain out. After all, Hagar was dead and Kain was still alive. If a dead father could somehow improve the life of his living son, then everything would be worth it. Hagar didn’t want to tell Kain that he would free Kain’s Souls regardless of receiving Watcher Tykan’s permission or not.

Kain turned to look at Arthur and said, “Weakling, I can no longer allow you to live knowing your Creation Magic poses too many threats against me. Today shall be the last day you can live. As promised, I won’t cause harm to your family members as long as they never raise weapons against me.”

Kain had decided to kill Arthur. Unlike Noe Clerico who was very hard to kill but wouldn’t be powerful enough to easily defeat Kain, Arthur Castillon’s [Isolation] spell of Creation Magic could eliminate all the advantages Kain and his Second Soul can get from Blood Magic. Letting Arthur live would be too much of a risk that Kain was not willing to take. contemporary romance

Arthur looked around the battlefield and saw his creatures were strongly fighting against the demon armies and their Demon Lords. Noe Clerico was already imprisoned by a magic spell casted by Anwyn and was being guarded by her Soul Magical Staff. Devil Overlord Anwyn Richir is too powerful and would not have any problem killing all of Arthur’s creatures but if Arthur can kill Kain first, then Anwyn wouldn’t necessarily be a problem. Arthur was worried about Finwe’s Delusion Magic, but it seems like Finwe was too focused on Isia and completely ignored Arthur. Of course, Arthur wouldn’t rule out the option that Finwe pretend to be focusing on Isia then find a good opportunity to assassinate him.

Regardless, knowing his chance of defeating Kain was still high, Arthur confidently said, “Now that I have learned this Diamond Skeleton is your father, I can’t let you live either, Kain Bersk. You already have the Devil Overlord as your Soul-bound Creature. If you also have your father as a conjureable creature and gain the ability to conjure him at any time, then even Lord Clerico and I teamed up together won’t be able to stand against you.”

Refused to waste any more of his precious time, Hagar levitated from the ground then flew toward the Mages Council at an insane speed. Devil-Kain flew toward Arthur while Kain started to convene Ancient Vampires when he was still flying near Jaane to protect her from any possible threats. Despite the great gap in physical strength between Devil-Kain and Arthur, Devil-Kain couldn’t get any closer to him because Arthur kept spawning creatures from his planet to protect him.

The Lords of Colors, Solo Executioners, and powerful Members of the Colors quickly teamed up in an attempt to defeat Hagar. Holy Mage Gwenn Bigham knew the only one who could stop the Diamond Skeleton was Noe Clerico. Just like Anwyn Richir is the ruler of Devils' Planet and Saint Archangel Michael is the leader of all Archangels in the Heaven Realm, Noe Clerico is the guardian of Toria Continents. But she couldn't find a way to rescue Noe from the Devil Overlord without using the ultimate spell that she had obtained.

[Summon Angel Battlemage] was the Saint-tier Light Magic spell Gwenn had created, but there was an ultimate spell that she obtained after completing the Magical Dungeon with difficulty rated ten. Gwenn had never revealed this magic spell to anyone including Noe Clerico in fear or one day she may have to use it against him. Despite being the Holy Mage, the one who really controlled the Mages Council was Noe Clerico. If Noe one day decided to step out of his line and wanted to banish Gwenn then replace her with another naive female magic caster to be the Holy Mage, then she may have to kill him to maintain her control of the Mages Council. Because Gwenn’s Angelic Soul wasn’t upgraded to Archangelic Soul like Isia, the ultimate spell she obtained was much weaker compared to [Avatar of Archangel] spell that Isia had obtained or [Devil Anatomy] that Kain had. Even so, it could be powerful enough to turn the tide of battle in exchange for her own life force.

“I will die anyway if I don’t use this spell. Rescuing Lord Clerico is the only way for the Mages Council to survive against this mess. All Saint Light Mages of the White started casting [Major Healing] spells on me now!” Gwenn angrily screamed as she released all of her mana into casting the ultimate spell [Sealed Divine Throne].

A throne chair surrounded by a bright aura appeared and Gwenn immediately sat on it. Gwenn could feel the throne chair starting draining her life force, but no pain feeling or damages appeared on her. Gwenn’s mana pool was big enough to maintain the appearance of the [Sealed Divine Throne] for ten minutes, but Gwenn’s life force may only last approximately three minutes. That was why Gwenn commanded all the Saint-tier Light Mages members of the White to actively cast [Major Healing] spells on her to help Gwenn use [Sealed Divine Throne] until it fades away. The moment [Sealed Divine Throne] runs out of its duration, it will completely drain all of Gwenn's life force and kill her regardless of how many Saint Light Mages were casting [Major Healing] spells on her. Even when Gwenn knows she will receive a [Resurrection] spell from one of the Light Mage, knowing her mana pool wouldn't automatically recover for a month truly disturbed Gwenn. Gwenn had Large Mana Potions in her Magical Storage Ring, but she may have to give them to Lord Clerico who had a much better chance of defeating the Diamond Skeleton compared to her who may be strong enough to halt its movement.
