Chapter 231 Mysterious William
In a large conference room, William sat in front of the big screen, observing the downtrend of the Duncan Group's stock.
"William, after the news of your disappearance spreads out, the Duncan Group is in turmoil. Plus the drug trafficking, Colin is unable to hold on."
A middle-aged man at the side was serious.
They were from a special department of an international organization. William was an elite in it, but he usually covered up his mysterious identity with the president of the Duncan Group. "You don't greet your wife. Can she bear it?"
In their department, everyone had their duties and special missions.
They had to do it, be they willingly or not.
"She... will tough it out."
William hesitated for a moment, but he replied with certainty.
Everything was planned in advance, but there was a small deviation in the location of the missing plane. It should have landed on the uninhabited island, but because of the typhoon, it disappeared on the sea. Fortunately, his members were reliable and saved William in time. But the news spread.
This time, he disappeared to deal with not only the internal affairs of the Duncan Group, but also a major international drug trafficking case, whose clue pointed to the Floyd family.
However, Harrison was so experienced that they couldn't find any evidence of his crime.
Therefore, William created a false image. The Duncan Group's stock kept the limit down. As expected, the Floyds couldn't help but make a move.
Everything was going according to the plan.
William cut off his connection with Frederic, so no one knew where William was.
He was very sorry for Jane and wanted to hug her when she was sad and helpless.
However, it was a critical moment now. He could not mess up.
Once someone knew where William was, all of the previous efforts would be destroyed in a single day.
Before the plan, William had talked something to Jane. She might believe in him.
William turned on his phone, which had switched to flight mode. He looked at his family's photo on the screen and his eyes darkened.
The Floyd Group had been dealing drugs for many years and had always been very cautious. It was not easy to get some clues and speed up the process.
It was also their plan that the police found out the drug that was put in Snow's shop by the Carts.
But now, they couldn't alert the enemy. Otherwise, if they couldn't catch the mastermind, the Carts would certainly become the scapegoat of the Floyds. Silence filled the meeting room for a long time.
Since May, it often rained in City J, and the weather was getting hotter.
Jane had been pregnant for four months and her belly became obvious. Lainey was even more worried about her going out.
"Mommy, when will Colin and Daddy come back?"
Dayton no longer went to kindergarten. He was about to go to the first grade of primary school in September.
Waking up every day, he waited at the door. When cars came, he always thought that Colin and Daddy were back.
There was always a car waiting at the door of the Duncan's. They were not paparazzi, but plainclothes, responsible for monitoring the Duncans. "They're trying to prevent thieves!"
Lainey was very angry because there was a car following when she went out to buy food.
The evidence was not sufficient, but the police treated them as drug dealers, which was humiliating for the Duncans.
"Get someone to deliver food. Don't go out to buy them."
Jane shook her head and did not care about that.
Since a lot of drugs had been found in the shop, the Duncan Group was definitely the first suspect. Monitoring her was the police's job requirement.
The police were very polite since they were outside the gate and did not come in.
"It's hot. We can give them some popsicles."
The Duncan's was in the suburbs, surrounded by lush flowers and trees, and many mosquitoes at night. The police in charge of monitoring could only have fast food, which was too difficult to bear. "Madam, you are really kind!"
Shaking her head, Lainey wanted to drive the police away, but Madam did not mind and helped deliver the food.
"Nothing. Colin is not at home. There are many dishes every time."
Lainey cooked more every day according to previous standards. She was looking forward to the day when Master Duncan and William would return home. However, she got disappointed day after day. The meals in summer could not be placed for long, and Colin had advocated saving.
Monitoring them was the police's work.
"Alright, as you say, Madam."
Lainey nodded in agreement.
When receiving the news, the servants in the house were in chaos for a while. It was as if the end of the world was approaching and someone even planned to leave the Duncan's.
Being a servant in the Duncan's was really happy. As long as one did his own things well, he won't be beaten or scolded.
If it were not for Madam stabilizing the situation, the people would have scattered.
However, Jane was not so calm as she showed. She only comforted herself that she had Dayton and two unborn little children in her belly.
As a mother, she had to be firm.
However, every time she woke up at midnight, Jane always felt that everything was unreal.
Life was like a roller coaster.
Pearl had successfully become a regular customer of the casino, but the Carts were so cautious that Pearl temporarily could not enter the VIP rooms. Everything was more difficult than imagined.
...
In the casino, the baddies and good people mixed together and were very diversified.
"Bitch, do you think all of us are freeloaders?"
A bearded man said fiercely, with several men in black suits.
It was reasonable to repay a debt.
"But you guys are using usury. I only borrowed one million. How did it roll over three million?"
The woman exclaimed and was grabbed by the bearded man to the ground.
The casino was different from the bank, so was the interest.
"This is our rule. How dare you come and play without money."
The bearded man laughed maliciously and asked for a machete.
Cutting off one's hand if he was unable to pay back the money was the rule of the casino.
"My younger brother owes, not me. Go and find him!"
Seeing that her hand was about to be chopped off, the woman screamed.
Being used to this, the people in the casino didn't care about it, and focused on the gambling table.
Pearl was thinking about speeding up the process when she heard the woman's voice.
Pearl and Robert came to the corner and looked in through the gap.
Ada? Why was she here?
After the fake car accident, they had no contact. Ada looked for Pearl and wanted to borrow money.
Pearl didn't respond. Everything had been exposed. Pearl didn't have to pay Ada, because Pearl was not afraid of being exposed.
"I didn't borrow it. Don't look for me. Let go!"
The finger would be chopped off by the machete. Even after the surgery, the finger could be connected, but it would look ugly and be useless.[
