Tide of Life

Chapter The Love of a Farmer Father

Father, you nurtured our land

strewed some seeds under the soil

“green, yellow, grains grow faster,

food to my home” you sang to the lord.

You bear loads of grains

tend the carabao, plowing the field

and while the rooster clocks every dawn

“a future to my home” you muttered to the lord.

Father, the field of grains filled with snails, pest a menace,

you have to walk barefooted within the swampy soil

to harvest the product of your sweat despite

to endure another pain and work harder under

the heat and storm

“life to my home” you beamed to the lord.

You carry the world for your wife and children,

the family you call home.

Father, you are all mighty with your strength

and love for your family

You are the wall and foundation of this home.
