The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2720

I found Sylvester's words ridiculous.

My gaze lowered, the corners of my mouth unconsciously hooked upwards. "If you had no plans on saying anything, why pick this crucial time to tell me? Rather than letting me know this late, you should have kept me in the dark for the rest of my life!" I spoke rather agitatedly. I did not know how to face Theo now.

I did not use to feel anything about my mother but after going to where my mother had been and after staying where she had stayed, even watching her video, it would be a lie if I said I still felt nothing.

Silas coughed a few times. He did not seem to be doing well recently.

I heard him sigh heavily before a hoarse voice left his throat. "I thought about that but I don't want you to live so happily."

I looked up at him, Silas's smile was so ugly.

My heart froze over.

What a frightful and hateful man!

"I finally know why Mom hates you so much," I watched him as I bit out every word.

Silas did not feel anything of it. He leaned back into his chair, a smile still present on his face that was written over with the vicissitudes of life. "I knew for a long time that she hated me but so what? She shouldn't have fallen for that John Lovere. If she had listened to me, she would be happy now."

I did not want to listen to his nonsense now. The storm in my heart was also making it impossible for me to calm down.

"If you can't go back to see Theo for a while, why don't you come with me?"

Silas spoke again after a moment but this time, his words stunned me.

"With you?" I could not help but laugh as I said that, like I had heard a joke.

He looked serious, however. He did not seem to be joking. Silas clarified again that he was not joking.

"I plan to go to Rothard to recuperate. You can come with me and relax."

"Do you think I'll go with you?" I raised my head and looked at him.

Silas noticed my look and smiled slightly. "I understand. Go back and face Theo then. What happens next has nothing to do with me."

The man had washed his hands clean of the matter.

"You're ruthless, absolutely ruthless."

Throwing this so-called truth to me, he then left, free and easy. This was truly Silas's style.

His smile was even brighter now. "I know you won't come back to the Yards. Millie didn't want to come

back then, and both your

personalities are very similar.l

force you anymore, but I won't let you off."

"This is your reason for telling me the truth." The only person who would suffer was me.

Silas spread his hands, looking absolutely uncaring. "I've said what I

said. You may leave, Miss Lane bet

Theo's men must be waiting for you outside now."

Truly, he was an old sly fox.

I turned to Sylvester who was standing at the side. His expression had not changed since the start.

"You lied to me. You knew the truth, yet you still wanted me to come."

"Grandfather is the only one who has the right to tell you the truth."

Sylvester's smugness was irritating.

"Both of you work so well together. You even left such a massive bombshell on me before leaving." I sniffled, feeling like my shoulders were about to collapse.

"You could actually also choose to

forget what I said. This happened so long ago. You can treat it as if

nothing happened, that you don't have a biological mother, that you have nothing to do with the Yards. You are the daughter of Petra White and Grayson Louis, that is all."

Could I still act as if nothing happened?

If I could, I would really like to forget all this, but I... could not do it...
