The Unwanted Luna

Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 83

-POV Ayame-

The shenanigans of the room ceased immediately and the woman raised up her hand in defense as Charlie pulled her to him by her waist. He shifted his weight and protected her from the disgruntled alpha. Her face peeked out from behind him and she hurriedly came to her own defense. "Nothing, honest. It just happens when those of the Fae greet each other. I'm sorry, I didn't know." She whispered and I remembered yet another nugget from my past. I'm glad that it's all coming back to me slowly, but in these situations, it can be quite cumbersome. Before I lost my memories, many supernatural beings would visit our home and we would visit theirs. The same thing would happen to my mother when she joined hands with other fairies and witches, like her brother. Why is this happening to me though? My attachment to the fae... to my mother's side of our world is gone. That's what she said in the flashback I endured and I don't feel anything different that would tell me otherwise. Oh goddess, every minute of this day, added more and more questions. I'm already regretting the need to do everything in one night. I'm barely holding it together at this point, but I have to stay strong. I can't keep crumbling under pressure. This is supposed to be a good moment. I won't ruin it.

I glanced at Vil as his arm wrapped around my waist tightly. Something he told me when we first met rang through my mind and I winced. I can't be weak. I can't be timid. I'm their Luna. I need to stay strong. I smiled at her brightly, forcing all my worry away. "You're a Fae." I said giddily.

She smiled back and nodded. "Yes, I am. I'm a witch. Transfiguration is all I can do, but I'm part of a coven that specializes in more defensive than offensive."Stop reading the wrong and incomplete storyline, FindNovel.net has the correct and complete book. Just like my family! My mother's side may be fairies, but I'm starting to think there might be more similarities than differences between them. They are both attached to the Fae one way or another. I must make a note to do more research on them. If not for knowledge of my own genealogy, but also for the new addition to our new family.

I pulled away from Vil and his overprotective ass and slipped around my equally defensive brother. She stood in front of me again and I grabbed her hands, wanting to see if it would happen again. "What's your name?" I asked and our arms glowed once more. My design looked like frozen branches while hers looked more like falling leaves. Cool! That's right...focus on the good. The bad can wait.

She smiled and squeezed my hands. "Zelena. My name is Zelena Vega, Luna."

Charlie's grin finally showed itself again as he puffed out his chest proudly. Sometimes, who would have guessed he was the oldest at thirty?! "She's my mate." He said.

I stared at the cool gold flecks in her eyes and I could see her hesitation about all of this, but, like me, it seemed like she was moving forward with what the moon goddess gave her. She wasn't vindictive and there didn't seem to be any darkness behind her subtle smiles. She genuinely wants to be here. With him.

I'm so happy about this whole sixth sense thing. It's really helping me see the good in people instead of always defaulting to the negative I was so used to. Either way, I'm just happy to know they are together. That Charlie was blessed with a second mate! If there was someone in this world that deserved another chance, it would be him. He deserves a real woman by his side that he can share life with and love unconditionally. I am sure that will be Zelena. I pulled away and curtsyed to our new Head Warrior Female. When I raised my head she looked like this could not be happening. I chuckled at her response. "Remember, no Luna here. Emily was just messing with me. I'm Ayame to everyone, unless noted otherwise."

She sighed in relief and curtsyed back. "I'm happy to hear...Ayame."

"Alphas...Luna. Malerie and Adolpha are coming. Thank the Goddess, Charlie told the warriors what they looked like. They are snooping around the first floor and it seems like they are heading your way. I'm sure they are looking for him." Emily called through the mind link and I was shocked when I heard it. I have talked to Emily once in a while through mind link, but because my brain was currently going a mile a minute, I thought it was better to keep up my block. Also, the guys said it would help me ease into pack life. It is a lot having hundreds of people in my head.

"You are part of the ranked members now, princess. You can hear when someone uses that...channel. It overrides your block for incoming." Edon clarified. I nodded, but the main challenge was Zelena. If I understand the situation, Malerie still thinks Charlie is her mate. "Thanks, Em." I called back. "Okay. Zelena, I need you to hide. They cannot know you are here." I told her seriously. She nodded and turned to Charlie as if she already knew our plan.

"Don't worry Ayame, we are prepared for this." Charlie said, and Zelena left through the back patio doors, but not before Charlie kissed her softly. Almost as if he was touching a flower, careful not to break its petals. He was so gentle even though he was the burliest out of all of them aside from Edon. He cleared his throat when she left the room and closed the door behind her. Walking over to the couch, he plopped on his normal spot. "Ugh...here we go." He grumbled and I noticed he was back to his old self immediately. However, after I saw him with Zelena, I knew the man I saw before he left for Boston was not his true self. It was forced and pained. Thankfully, the man in front of us now won't be Charlie anymore. Thankfully, this shadow of a man will finally be forgotten over the shine Zelena has finally brought back to his life. "You can do this dude." Vince said, encouraging his friend's sacrifice. We all nodded in agreement and he even cracked a smile before we all heard a voice we wished we'd never have to hear again. "I'm here with the Head Warrior. Obviously, I should be let in here." Even with the slightly higher tone to her voice, I knew who that was. Malerie.

"I don't think that's appropriate, seeing that we are in the middle of a meeting. I don't care who you are!" Emily shouted back and I had a feeling she was louder so we could hear her through the door.

Vil placed his hand on my back and I turned to him but everything in his eyes said to follow his lead. "Don't pull away this time, angel. I need you to stay with me." I nodded and we walked to his desk. "I won't unless absolutely necessary." I agreed, sitting on his lap as he held onto me tightly.

"Good girl, angel, but that should never be the case." I sighed into his praise and he smirked, definitely feeling the...shift in my emotions. I guess this was one good distraction.

"Really, Vil?" Edon growled and Vil shrugged, ignoring the glares from his brothers. When the door pushed open. Zelena was standing behind the two women who looked nothing like Malerie and Adolpha, but their demeanors were exactly the same. I'm glad she was able to meet back up with them. Charlie really did prepare her for today. Not surprised. He is the Head Warrior for a reason. Strategy and planning are second nature to him.

"Sorry Alphas and Luna, she did not want to wait outside." Emily huffed, shoving her way past the girl with the dirty blonde hair and blue dress. The other with the glasses looked over at Conri longingly, not at all paying attention to the pouting princess standing next to her. That had to be Adolpha. Between Malerie, Sawyer and Adolpha, they really had an...interesting friendship dynamic.

"What are you doing in here?" Charlie asked curtly and Malerie walked over to him. Without hesitation, she sat down, resting her head on his chest. He tensed immediately and his eyes went straight to Zelena, who had to look away. I feel bad for them right now.

"I just wanted to see you and someone told me you would be in here." She whined and Charlie rubbed his eyes before his hand slid down his face.

"We are in the middle of a meeting right now. You cannot be in here." He growled curtly.

"And why not? I am your ma...I mean date, am I not?"

I felt Zelena's pain from here, and Charlie's spirit howling for the both of them while he didn't say a word...out loud. "Alphas." He growled through the link, and I knew he was at his limit. "Who are you?" Vil growled, holding on to me.

"I'm...um..." Malerie's breath hitched, and I internally rolled my eyes. Did she forget her own fake name?

"Talia, Alpha. Her name is Talia, this is her friend, Sophie, and I'm Zelena. Apologies for the intrusion." Zelena whispered, bowing her head, but we all heard her.

"I knew that already!" Malerie shouted. "I don't know why you are in here anyway! Charlie, can you make her leave?" Malerie whined again and even I couldn't take it anymore.

I stood to my feet and went around the desk. Even Vince and Kyle were standing slightly in front of it, almost like a second line of defense. I pushed myself around them, shocking the three of them and me in my wake. "Talia, Sophie." I said, not believing their names at all. My snarky undertone had Emily biting her tongue to hold in a laugh and Zelena joining in. Thankfully, she was relaxing a bit. It looks like our duo is now a trio. "I don't know why you are here either. I don't care who your date is. Unless invited, you do not just barge into the office of an alpha. Period." I growled as my wolf came to the surface to assist. "You are not allowed that right!" I bellowed in my Luna voice.

Abruptly, she stood to her feet, and I could tell she was going to burst. I heard my wolf smirk as we both just watched her burn. That girl's pride really is the death of her. I know she's a rogue now, but she really should've just listened to my warning. "You cannot speak to me like that! I'm just as important as you are! Just because you're the Luna now doesn't mean you're better than me! You will never be better than me! I'm the freaking alpha's daughter, dammit!"

Emily turned to lean on one leg as her arms were folded in front of her. "Oh really? Are you now?" She asked and Malerie's face paled. Yeah...she knew it. It was too easy to bait her. Not only has she officially messed up, but her, her mother, and Adolpha will fall with her too.
