The Unwanted Luna

Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 52

-POV

Vil-

Did she just say...me? Like Vilkas Oden? I stared at her as the time ticked by and the noises of the jet seemed a lot louder than I thought. Slipping her bottom lip between her teeth, she started to play with her hands and my eyes went straight to the action. "Vilkas." Conri said,

startling me out of my own thoughts.

I shifted my eyes to his and he smirked. "Yes, brother?"

"Anything you would like to say?" His playful demeanor is rare, but I think at this point, none of us have any grudges about who gets picked first. We just wanted her to choose. We wanted to mate her.

The end.

I shifted my eyes to her and I felt them flash to orange and back again. She stiffened and looked at me through her lashes. "She picked us first! Don't fuck this up for me." My wolf huffed and I did my best to ignore him.

Pulling in a breath, I finally said, "I'd love to know why, but I'm definitely thinking of about three hundred ways we can make this flight more...interesting." I mean...can you blame me? Why wait until we land? I want to sink my teeth into her soft...supple neck now. Like...right now. Her eyes grew and she smiled brightly. "Because I'm tiny and I don't really know what my bear would look like, and Lycans do grow a bit when they shift, but...I'm not a huge fan of heights and I'm used to being lower to the ground when I fight so it makes more sense for me to be a wolf." She raddled on and I nodded slowly.

"But I'm not tiny, angel." I growled unintentionally while my wolf took offense to her reasoning and Edon held back a laugh.

Ayame's breath hitched and she waved her hands frantically like she was trying to erase the words from the air. "No...I mean.......umm.... Well...." Her cheeks were tomato red and Edon finally stopped chuckling through his teeth to calm her down. His hand grazed her arm slowly and she took deep breaths. "I meant to say that all three of you are massive. Even when we were training, there wasn't one wolf that came up to your size Vil, but there were a lot of smaller wolves that seemed to be more my speed. I haven't seen any other bears and the Lycans never shift while in training, so...."

Conri cracked his neck as he rolled his shoulder into a stretch. "No, your thought process makes sense. You are petite in nature. I've never met a petite female werebear or Lycan. They are usually very tall and muscular. However, so are wolves, little one."

She shook her head quickly. "I know that much. All the people in Bodhi Cora are huge, but I mean, the female wolves don't seem to be as big as the male wolves and no one is as big as Vilkas." It looks like our little angel did her research. She kept her eyes open. Observed her surroundings. Buried her free time with research. That makes me proud, ironically. She will do well in high stress situations. From the past she had to endure, I'm not surprised that is the case. For now, that keen eye of hers is one of the reasons for her decision and I'm not taking it lightly.

Conri shrugged. "Makes sense. Vil is an alpha, so he will be the biggest wolf. The same goes for myself and Edon. I've never seen a bear spirit like his. Even the royal family are black bears at best."

I sighed, finally putting the rest of her research together. "But, when shifted, I'm still the shortest out of the three of us and the most nimble. Ayame's right. For her safety, it's actually better for her to be a wolf rather than a bear or a Lycan. Lycan's have the speed and bears have the strength, but neither are as flexible as the werewolf."

Conri and Edon stared at me and I could see the light bulbs click in their eyes like it did with mine. "Oh, I get it. You want to be a wolf just in case you need to defend and get out of a situation, not for the ability to fight in a situation." Edon said slowly.

Ayame nodded bashfully. "Yes. If I became a werebear or lycan, I'd have more strength and raw power than I would know what to do with. I'm not confrontational by nature. I...I would hate to hurt anyone to be honest with you. Werewolves are strong in their own right and they possess the assets I need to stay safe. I'm not trying to do the most here. I know all three of you don't want me to shift. Even without your warnings and concerns, I could tell. However, this way, it's the best of both worlds."

I sat up and crossed one leg in front of me while the other fell over the side of the bed. My boot landed with a thud. "That is a fair decision and it seems like you really did think about it before you made your choice. That makes me feel a lot better about this situation." "Agreed." Edon and Conri said in tandem, followed by a growl from Edon.

Ayame spun around aiming her cute little ass right in front of me. Why give me and my wolf - the temptation? Oh, my little angel.... She doesn't even know what she does to me. If she does.... My wolf growled and I shook the plethora of thoughts out of my mind. "Make up with him." She pouted and Edon raised a brow.

"Not happening. I'm allowed to be angry at how he acted." Edon huffed, shooting a glare at Conri from the corner of his eye.

"But I've already handled it. Apologize." She mumbled through her lips.

"I'll start first. I was an ass. I apologize." Conri's blunt response had my angel plop her bum on her heels.

"What?" Her and Edon said together.

They looked at each other and started laughing. I'm not too sure why, but I'm sure the two of them would understand it in their own quirky way. Even Conri cracked a smile. "What's so funny?" I asked, bewildered.

Ayame caught her breath and shook her head. "N-nothing. I was just surprised that Conri would apologize first and Edon's face of shock was not what I was expecting either." "Ditto!" Edon added through his fits of laughter.

I shook my head and Conri rubbed the bridge of his nose. "You two are childish sometimes." He grumbled.

"Completely." They said together and that started another fit of laughter. Sometimes our age gap is completely void when I look at Edon and Ayame together. You would never guess those two are seven years apart. Actually...almost eight. I smirked internally. It looks like we will forget about our birthday this year too. Shit always happens around our birthday. Since that is coming up in a month, and it looks like the nonsense swarming our little mate is turning into a right shit storm, having fun is not a top priority right now. Having our mate marked will be a gift in itself. That's all I'll need this year.

"Okay! Okay. You two get comfortable. I'm exhausted and we need to get some rest before we land." I glanced up at the flight map next to the window-side of the bed. "We got about nine hours. Let's make use of it." I suppressed all my annoying thoughts about turning twenty-eight with those two knuckle heads and shifted the conversation. We need all the rest we can get.

"I agree. Now, Ayame, once we land -" Conri started, but a sigh from our princess cut him off.

"I know...I know. You three have a lot of work to do. I'll stay out of the way." She said, finally calming down. She even yawned a bit.

Conri glanced my way after she cut him off. "She sticks to us like glue!" He bellowed through the link. "Not even a question." Edon agreed.

"Count on it." I added, thankful that those two made up. We need to focus, not fight amongst ourselves.

Conri looked back at our beautiful angel while she slipped the covers over herself and Edon, situating herself on top of him. "Ayame, that's not what I was going to say. We need you to stay with us. If you have an issue, or we aren't doing our job as your mates, you tell us. Immediately. Understood, little one?" Conri said sternly.

She nodded and her eyes were already closed. I sighed and slipped in next to Edon. "Words, angel." I slipped my hand over her leg while she snuggled in between his, and shivered under my touch.

"Yes. I won't leave your sight. If I can't find you three, I will find Kyle, Vince, or Charlie." She mumbled, already half asleep. I'm starting to think our scent has that effect on her. Maybe she was making up on all the sleep she lost without us around. Before and after she met us. Conri plopped on the other side of Edon and slipped his hands behind his head. "Okay, get some sleep then."

She hummed in agreement while reaching out her tiny hand for Conri's. He pulled a hand from under his head and intertwined his fingers with hers. The three of us sighed when her breathing slowed into her subconscious state. "We will protect her." I said through the link grazing my hand up and down her leg slowly.

"I have complete faith in our ability to do so." Edon slipped his hand through her hair and she snuggled into his chest further.

"Either way, we need to make sure our packs are ready for war when we land. We will not tolerate Chaz's childish behavior. No one gets to our Luna!" Conri growled.

I cannot wait to see that piss ant fall.

-POV ???-

"You know...my heart goes out to you, Ms.Kingsley. I'm sure this has been a very...trying time for you." A cloud of smoke blew from my lips and the pampered princess rolled her eyes as her perfectly manicured hands folded over each other.

"I don't care about all of that and, please, Tanya is enough."

I grunted with a short nod. "So, what can I do for you, Tanya?"

"My husband cannot do time." She said shortly.

I thought for a moment, then a realization hit me. "Oh yes, he had just transferred back from France. Such a shame. How the mighty have fallen."

She slammed her hand on my desk and the items on it shifted, if only slightly. "I don't want to hear that from the likes of you! Remove the bitch. I will pay you handsomely for your services." Wow...she must have tunnel vision. How does she not know I know her husband...or should I say one of my clients' sons?

I shrugged. "I'm not even sure who you are talking about."

She threw some wedding pictures at me and I scrambled to catch them. A small girl was circled in each of the photos wearing a soft light green pencil skirt and black blouse. Her long black hair tied formally in a bun. It was tantalizing and very familiar. She was a stunner, but what caught my eye was the large man standing next to her. Or should I say men. I smirked and Tanya scoffed. "What?!" She shrieked. "If you cannot do it! I'll find someone who will."

I growled lowly at the irritating human and leaned back in my chair, covering my eyes from sight. I didn't want the reddened pupils to startle the little idiot. Her impatience was digging into my pride. "I never said I wouldn't, but believe you me, She will not be an easy one to catch, Ms.Kingsley."

She groaned irritably at the intentional dig. "It seems you know the skank. Shockingly, I'm not surprised. With her record, I'm sure she was thrown around...a lot. Either way, can you do it or not?"

"Of course, but the price just tripled. Have a nice day." I nodded to the door and two of my men appeared, opening it for her. "That means you need to leave."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes, leaving my office and stomping away in her overly expensive shoes the entire way. "Boss...what should we do about this job? Triple is nice, but that lady seems like a pain in the ass."

"Of course she is, but she isn't the only buyer." I tossed the pictures on the desk and the two of them looked them over. My men laughed and the gleam in their eyes brightened.

"Doesn't this make it three?" One asked.

"Yes...it does. I think I should call my main benefactor to see how he would like to handle this." I pulled my phone out of the hidden pocket in my suit jacket and dialed the long since memorized number.

"This had better be good, I'm busy." Prince Chaz growled on the other end of the line.

It seems like everyone is in a shitty mood today. "Sorry, your majesty, but I just wanted to let you know that humans want the girl too. She's starting to become more of a mess than she is worth. Maybe I should just kill her and get it over with."

"No! You are not to touch her. Death to the Luna is only meant to misdirect. We will have the girl and Jasper will finally break. He will have to see her for this to work. Do your job! We will kill her when I say so! Let those sniveling humans wait! Humans are not our problem, but my crown is!" The line went dead and I leaned back in my chair.

"So what now? Two different groups of humans want the same girl dead and our largest bank wants her alive." One of my confidants asked, overhearing the conversation.

"We will continue as planned. We need to tell him how to take out the triplets and grab the girl. We have three days." I said in defeat. Three days before the Rogue Empire I've worked so hard to make will be crushed by the sheer force of the triplet's packs. I hope this prince knows what he is doing or that fate will be inevitable while he remains...untouchable.
