The Unwanted Luna

Chapter 37

Xavier.

It has been three days since we caught Brian and so far he has refused to talk. Nothing I or my warrior do is getting through to him and it is honestly pissing me the fuck off.

We needed to get answers from him but no matter what form of torture we used he just didn't cave in.

If it were up to me I would have ended his pathetic life on that field days ago but I knew we needed answers first.

Without it we were walking into battle blind and that is definitely not good for anyone. We had to know what Agron was planning because so far all he has been doing is play mind tricks with us and ruin most of our chances of having back up from other packs. He was cunning yes, and cocky but he also looked like the type to have a trick up his sleeves, a trick that he would use when we least expected rendering us useless and no match against him.

The other thing that worried me was the words that Amelia spoke while she was in recovery. Even though the moon goddess assured us it was most likely the rumbling of an out of it deity, a part of me couldn't help but feel like it was a fucking omen, a bad prophesy. She had told us not to tell Amelia, that it would increase the pressure that she was already in especially if she thought that she had predicted the future.

But I was planning to discuss it with her. Maybe, just maybe she would have a slight insight and hopefully it would give a pushing hand to be one step ahead of Agron.

"Anything yet?"

Amelia's voice interrupted my thoughts. I was standing in front of the chamber that Brian was being tortured by Jayden.

The room had a one way mirror so I could see everything but the occupants couldn't.

His screams had become familiar and all they did right now was piss me off. I was fucking frustrated, with everything.

This coming war, worrying over Tristan, my complicated relationship with Amelia, Bianca's condition and the fact that members of my pack and all other packs are fucking betraying me.

"No, he still hasn't talked" I told her with a sigh.

"That's because you are doing a shit job at it. Give me thirty minutes with him and he will be singing like an opera singer" she said, her voice cold with anger.

I looked at her and for the first time since she came back, I could see the dark circles under her eyes. She was tired and she needed sleep.

She had to go back to the dark realm after dropping Brian off in the dungeons. It couldn't be easy juggling between two realms.

I linked Jayden and told him to come out and give Amelia time alone with which he did.

"He's all yours" Jayden said while Amelia entered and locked the room.

She didn't do anything for a while, just stared at him calmly. Both his eyes were swollen shut and he had multiple wounds that were bleeding.

The floor was covered with his blood and other body fluids, including his urine.

He couldn't even keep up his head but when Amelia entered he tried lifting it almost as if he could sense a new danger. Someone worse than me and my soldiers.

"Do you think she will be able to get him to talk?" Jayden asked me, his voice barely above a whisper.

I didn't answer, just stared at Amelia as she walks closer to Brian. The room temperature dropped and suddenly dark shadows began to filter into the room, it was creepy as shit but at the same time fucking hot how she could manipulate darkness. Looking at the tendril wrapping itself around Brian's neck, I could tell that by the end of it all he would be wishing we had killed him.

"You are going to tell me all I need to know or you won't like what I will do to you" Amelia said in a powerful voice full of authority.

"What makes you think I will? The others failed to get me talking, you will too. You torturing me will all be for nothing" he replied stammering, having a difficult time breathing in.

"Oh darling, that's where you are wrong, I am not like the others. I torture monsters far bigger and scarier than you during my free time, you are an insignificant hussy and I am going to enjoy breaking you piece by piece until there is nothing but an empty shell left" Amelia said just before two of the tendrils dug into his temples.

His eyes rolled back and he let out a tortured scream making both me and Jayden wince at his shrill voice.

Who would have thought that a full grown man would scream like a bitch in heat? Whatever Amelia was doing was way worse than what we did because he never screamed or struggled to get away like he was doing right now.

A third tendril joined in and entered his mouth, making him gag in the process while two others entered his eyes.

Amelia's eyes were closed, but they seemed to be moving behind her closed eyelids. Her lips were moving but her voice was too low for us to hear anything.

The screams continued but because of the tendril in his mouth, his screams were muffled, almost like he was under water.

"What do you think she is doing to him?" Jayden asked next to me. I could sense admiration and also fear in his voice.

I mean who wouldn't be afraid after seeing what she was doing? Some of the things she does are enough to make any grown man to fucking piss his pants. "Don't know, don't care...as long as we get answers" I replied, my eyes still trained on the scene playing out before me.

After a few moments the tendrils in his mouth and eyes withdrew completely covered in blood.

"Please stop, please!" Brian begged, his voice distorted but that was probably because of the tendril of doom that had been shoved down his fucking throat.

His eyes were unseeing and completely damaged. I felt nothing for the prick, no remorse or pity. He deserved this and so much more for trying to take my son from us.

"Are you going to tell me everything I want to know concerning Agron?" Amelia asked him, her voice steady but Brian just shook his head in refusal.

"I can do this all day, the question is can you?" she said before continuing. "I can drive you to the brink of death and just when you think you'll finally find peace, I'll heal you and begin all over again"

I could see him physically shudder at the image she had painted. It didn't sound pleasing and if he was smart enough he would see that telling us what we needed to know would be better than being at Amelia's mercy. "Will you let me be if I tell you" he asked, his voice defeated.

"Of course, just tell me what Agron is planning" she replied with a fake smile, too bad he couldn't see that.

"I don't know what he is planning exactly, but every time we had meetings, he would brag about how he had an ace, something that none of you will see coming and which will guarantee his victory." He whispered, sounding tired. "What ace is that?"

"He has never said what it is but he is confident that he will win against you...he said that you won't even know what hit you and by the time you even did it would already be too late. I may not know exactly what it is he has up his sleeves but I can assure you, you will likely not be able to stand a chance" he finished while gasping for air.

"Can you let me go now? I've already told you all I know" he said after a while.

"Sure, a promise is a promise after all" Amelia said right before she swung her hand and severed his head from his shoulders.

I heard Jayden take a deep breath but my eyes remained on Amelia as she picked up his head and walked out of the room.

"Jayden can you arrange for a pack meeting? No children or teens, just the adults, in the next ten minutes if that's possible" she asked while she stared at the still bleeding head in her hands.

Jayden looked at me for confirmation and then left after I gave him the okay to do it just as Amelia placed Brian's head at a nearby metal table.

"I really don't like this at all...something is amiss and I just can't put my finger on it" she softly said while looking up at me.

"What do you mean?"

"What he mentioned right now, about Agron having a winning card. I feel like I've heard that before but I just can't remember from where. Ever since I woke up from the hospital I've had this nagging feeling that I'm forgetting something really important." She said with a sigh while rubbing the sides of her head.

I know she is under pressure and it has started to catch up with her but this was the right time to tell her about what she said.

Maybe it's what she was supposed to remember and maybe she could interpret what she said.

"When you were in the hospital, there was a time you woke up. You scared the shit out of us when you started mumbling words that made no sense. Do you remember that?" I asked her softly.

"No, I don't...what did I say?" she replied with her brows drawn together as if she was trying to remember.

I let out a lungful of air that I had been holding then continued,

"I don't remember it word by word but it was something like...the dark one will fall, the dead will rise and the realms will be destroyed. Chaos will reign and darkness will cover the world. A being as dark as the abyss will rise and there is no stopping what has already been put into motion" I finished and looked at her hoping it would ring a bell.

It's been weeks since she said those words but they still manage to send chills down my fucking back every time I remember them.

"Damn it! It's just within reach but I can't grasp it. What I can tell you though is whatever I said that day is connected to what I'm supposed to remember because when you were saying the words, the memory tried breaking through" she said frustration clearly written in her features. "Why didn't you tell me this earlier" she asked after a while.

"The moon goddess told us not to but for some reason I kept feeling that it was important"

We stared at each other, the need to reach out and hold her in my arms strong. She has been strong for far too long and I just want to reassure her that everything will work out. I could see the toll everything was having on her and I fucking hated it.

I grabbed Brian's head and left the room only to bump into Jayden almost plowing him to the ground.

"Everyone is out back waiting for you. Amelia is already there" Jayden said.

I don't say anything just walked towards the door.

Just as he had said everyone was gathered outside, with the exception of Bianca, the kids and all teens. I didn't waste any time getting to business.

"This is what happens when you decide to try and kidnap Tristan. I will not tolerate any kind of betrayal especially coming from my own pack member" I shouted the anger sipping into my voice while I threw Brian's head to the ground for everyone to see. "No one, and I mean no one will get away with putting my son in danger. The moment any of you decide to give up my son to the bastard of god, you become my enemy and I will not show you any form of mercy." I finished staring at each and every one of them. "Do you know how to identify who the traitors are" Raya asked, seeming somewhat nervous. Before I could reply Amelia took over.

"Funny you should ask that, Raya, given you are one of them" Amelia said, appearing right in front of Raya, grabbing her by the neck and lifting her from the ground.

I'm not even surprised that Raya is one of the traitors. For some reason she has always hated Amelia and she would do anything to make sure Amelia suffered.

"The thing is I got a glimpse into Brian's mind before he died and I know everything, every traitor, what you planned and even where you used to meet up. I'll let Xavier deal with the rest, but you, you are mine because your betrayal was personal. You wanted to hurt me by taking Tristan so you will die by my hands"

The moment she finished saying that, fear covered Raya's features right before Amelia plunged her hand into her chest and ripped out her heart.

From there chaos broke loose with the traitors trying to escape but too bad for them because we had already anticipated that move. Come tomorrow, they would fucking die by my hands.
