The Unwanted Luna

Chapter 30

Amelia

"Lia? Come on, wake up!"

I heard my name being shouted making me startle awake and when I did I wished I hadn't because my whole body was in pain.

Heavens, being reduced to a human, sucked big time. The beatings in the pack were bad but damn, Hades made what I went through look like a fucking fairytale.

I truly hated how weak I was and felt but despite everything, riling Hades was the only shot I had of getting him to come close to me.

It definitely sucked but I knew that once we managed to escape, my healing abilities would kick in and I would be good to go.

"How long was I out?" I asked as I raised my head painfully and looked at Sophie.

I was still chained to the wall and the ground but this time I was kneeling instead of standing but that still didn't make my position any less painful.

I stretched a little bit trying to assess the extent of my injuries. I had probably three or more broken ribs, my nose was definitely broken, my ankle twisted and my left shoulder dislocated. That didn't bode well for my escape plan because it would slow us down thus increasing the chances for us to get caught.

"I'm honestly not sure, maybe a couple of hours...but then again who knows" she replied.

I could tell by her tone that she was at a loss on what to do. She was beginning to feel dejected and with her pregnancy hormones every single emotion was heightened.

I didn't know whether it was day or night or how long we had been here, all I knew is that they took us mid-afternoon and that we needed to get out of here as soon as possible.

I struggled to stand up on my own, holding on to the chains for support. Everything hurt and each and every bone rebelled against the action. I felt like I had been hit by an overloaded truck.

"By the way, what the hell were you thinking? baiting him like that!" Soph shouted at me but I was in no mood to be berated by her.

For all I know, this could have been an elaborate plan to get me away from Tristan thus making it easier for them to take him with me out of the way and the pack not being powerful enough to stop them.

Without saying a word I took the keys that I had taken from Hades while he was busy beating me senseless and showed it to her hoping she would keep her mouth shut.

Lucky for me she shut up once she saw me with the keys.

"Keep talking" I mouthed to her, and thank heavens she understood me and started talking, that way it wouldn't seem weird or suspicious. This book has many missing chapters and scenes if you're not reading it on [J] o b n Ib. c [o] m. "Smart girl" I said to myself with a small smile playing on my lips.

Fuck, it even hurt to smile. I mumbled a few responses here and there but I kept my focus on trying to unlock the chains.

It took a while to find the right key and with great effort I managed to get the chain on my right to open, then quickly held it and put it down gently before it could clang to the floor and make some noise.

I then did the same to the other hand and then to both legs before collapsing in a heap on the floor, hoping against hopes that they were too busy listening to what Sophie was saying to pay any attention to the thud I made.

I was drained but I pushed myself to go to Sophie and unlock her chains. We needed to get out of here before Hades decided to pay us another visit.

I lightly tapped on her shoulder to get her attention and signal to her that I was going to speak and that she should follow my lead.

"Would you please shut up?! Your blabbering is adding to my headache when all I want is to close my eyes for just a little bit" I hissed at her, thankful that my voice actually sounded irritated.

I had to make them believe that I wanted to sleep that way even after we left, they wouldn't think anything was off when it was silent.

At first she didn't seem to understand what was happening and what I was doing but few minutes later it dawned on her.

"You don't have to be so mean about it, I was only trying to keep our minds off our situation" she replied with a wink.

When that was done, I unlocked Sophie's chains as quietly as possible. When I was done I tiptoed to the door, unlocked it and took a peep outside surveying the surroundings.

Unlike the inside of the room, the corridors were painted black and the lights weren't bright enough. It almost seemed like a scene from a horror movie. There weren't any cameras so that was a bonus.

Once I ascertained everything, I opened the door slowly and when it was wide enough I motioned for Sophie to follow me. We tiptoed slowly, keeping to the walls and the shadows.

I had no idea where we were going but there was a door at the end of the hallway and I just hoped that it led outside.

Holding my ribs with one hand, I used the other to support myself on the wall. By the time we reached the door, I was sweating and gasping for air from the effort I had put on my aching body.

Seeing that I was struggling to keep walking Sophie supported me by putting an arm around me while mine hung loosely on her shoulders.

The door wasn't locked so we pushed it open and when we did we were almost knocked on our asses by the smell that assaulted us.

It was a mixture of smoke, fire and brimstone. The sky was a mixture of black and red and all around us we could hear the tortured screams of people.

The land all around us was desolate and bare and everything looked to be dead and decaying. Tiny black particles of ash floated all around us.

Red lightning occasionally flashed after every few minutes or so making everything seem as if it were soaked in blood.

The door softly closed behind us and we looked at each other in panic when we both realized we weren't anywhere near pack territory and if my guess was correct weren't even in the human realm

I could see pockets of fire and the heat alone nearly skinned us to our bones.

"Where the hell are we?" Sophie whispered next to my ear, the panic evident in her voice.

"Funny you should say that, because we are in hell" I replied nonchalantly, my eyes and mind focused on everything around me.

This was bad, beyond bad actually because it meant we were in deep shit. Now more than ever we needed to escape.

There were gates that led to hell, but they were well hidden and most people didn't know where they were.

Luckily I paid attention to my studies after ascension and knew that the only gate out of the underworld was in between purgatory and paradise.

The only problem was that the door was heavily guarded for obvious reasons. Despite Hades being a mean son of a bitch he really did take his duties seriously and did his work to perfection, after all no one from purgatory has ever had the chance to escape. I know you are probably wondering what about the undead, well the undead are just empty vessels.

Yes they can think and follow instructions but their souls are long departed. They are just empty shells of their former selves.

"What do we do now?!" Sophie asked, her eyes misty when I turned to look at her.

Damn, I sure am grateful I didn't have to deal with pregnancy hormones at a time like this.

"First of all, we have to move. We can't stay or we will be caught and secondly we have to find Hades gate, without my powers it's our only best shot out of here." "What the hell is Hades gate?"

"From what I learned, it's the only gate out of hell and it's guarded by Cerberus " I replied putting my weight on my good leg so I didn't have to lean too much on her. "Cerberus, as in the three headed mythical creature?" she asked completely shocked.

I just nodded at her and she shut up after that looking scared shitless.

We started to walk and found more doors similar to the one we had escaped through but we didn't pay attention to them, we were on a mission to escape, not to snoop around and get caught.

*********

We had been walking for over what seemed to be an hour when alarms started blaring and that could only mean one thing, they had discovered that we had escaped.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh...we have been discovered, they are going to find us and kill us and Jayden and Freya will never get closure cause they won't be able to find or retrieve my body" Sophie started blabbering this time in full panic mode. Without thinking about it I slapped her, making her head snap to the side before she quickly turned to glare at me.

If look could kill, I would be six feet under but I needed to get her out of the stupor she was in and back to the issue at hand.

The issue being they had discovered we had escaped and we also had no fucking idea where we were going.

"What the hell?" she asked hotly, her body shaking in anger.

"Get a hold of yourself or you can forget about getting the fuck out of here...I don't know about you but I would like very much to see my son again" I snapped at her and that seemed to shut her up.

"Stop right there!" was shouted just as I finished speaking.

I looked up to see a big man rushing towards us with murder in his eyes.

Shit!

We couldn't take him down with how big he was and how weak I was and by his facial expression he had already calculated that and knew he had the upper hand which left me with one choice, the element of surprise.

I let go of Sophie and as quickly as I could rushed towards him, jumped on him, my legs firmly wrapping around his shoulders. I flipped him and he fell with a thud right before I twisted my legs and snapped his neck.

Just when I thought I had the victory, more men arrived having heard the commotion. I may not have Onyx or my powers but I still had my combat training.

Still using the element of surprise I rushed towards the first man, grabbed his arm and flipped him over, when he was down I brought my foot down with all my strength and snapped his head.

Someone grabs my hair and painfully yanked it making me shriek before turning and delivering a kick to their abdomen sending them flying backwards before crashing on a wall and then slumping. I could feel my energy being depleted but I had to finish this. Sophie stood to the side completely frozen and I knew that in the state she was in I wasn't going to get any help from her.

I finished the rest of the men off but not before they could get in a kick or two in. I was totally exhausted and all I wanted was to close my eyes and sleep.

I looked at the bodies scattered around us and my eyes landed on the guy I had kicked through a wall, he seemed to be regaining his consciousness which was good because I needed answers.

I advanced on him dragging my now broken leg and schooling my features to look intimidating despite the pain I was in. when he saw me, he tried moving backwards but there was no more space.

He was skinny and completely scared out of his mind. I would have laughed at the type of hooligans Hades had if it weren't for the fact that I was in pain and in a hurry. I hovered around him for a minute before talking

"You are going to tell me how to get to Hades gate and in return I'll let you live, is that understood?" my voice came out more menacing than I intended but at this point I didn't care, I just wanted to get out of this realm. He shook his head in agreement and then pointed to a path that was off our right. I turned back to him and sneered at how he was shaking pathetically.

"If I find out that you've lied, there won't be a place in any realm you will be able to hide from me" I said threateningly before turning and leaving him still slouched on the wall.

I grab Soph, who seemed to have come out of her stupor and started heading towards the direction he had pointed us to.

"You can be scary mother fucker when you want to be". She said next to me but I ignored her trying my best to breathe through the nausea that was threatening to overtake me.

Black dots appear before me and I hold on to Sophie's hand to keep from falling.

We walk for a few minutes before we finally started seeing the other side of the underworld. Unlike the side we were in, paradise was teeming with life and sunlight.

The grass was green and the flowers were blossoming. Everything was beautiful and it made me want to crossover there and just lay on the grass and take a long nap.

The door came into view and we hurried towards it, thoughts of paradise long forgotten. As I had predicted it was guarded by Cerberus, hell's three headed dog. Which snapped and growled at us.

"Leaving so soon? I was just beginning to have fun with you" Sophie and I sharply turned at Hades' mocking voice.

He had about twenty sentinels with him and by the looks of it, they were his best.

We were trapped between Hades and his vicious guard dog. At first I thought we were toast but when I involuntary stepped backwards my back facing the gate, I felt a rush of power just as Hades arrogantly commanded, "Get them!"

I didn't have to think, I just reacted. I was tired and really pissed off.

"Enough!" I angrily shouted and released a bout of energy that knocked all the sentinels unconscious and brought Cerberus into submission, whining and pushing all three snouts into my back, after all he was a creature of the dark and by right I was his queen. This seemed to anger Hades.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Hades grounds out making my rage spike up.

How dare he? He kidnapped us, beat me to pulp, had his goons attack us and he has the audacity to question me.

"Who am I? Who am I? I am the fucking dark goddess and you will pay for what you have done" I snapped before pulling the darkness to me making the wind pick up and my body levitate.

I was now shrouded in darkness and my goddess state took over.

Using the darkness as my hands, I wrapped a tendril around Hades' neck choking him while lifting him off the ground.

He tried clawing the tendril but I just tightened it intending to sever his head. I could hear someone call my name but I was too far gone.

Just as he started bleeding, a loud bang resounded interrupting my murderous rage and sending me into the dark abyss of peace.
