Chapter 1865
The children played while their parents made dinner.
Both Stefan and Renee were not good at cooking, so they agreed to do a simple seafood barbecue.
It only involved coating the seafood in a sauce and roasting them on the fire, so it seemed simple enough...
until they actually started cooking.
The first challenge was making the fire.
There were no charcoal or burners on the island, so they could only use wood to make a fire.
Stefan and Renee spent a lot of time picking branches and palm leaves around the island, and forgot all about the two children
while doing so.
Renee was not too worried about the children since they had grown up on Sun Island—they were good at swimming, and had
more survival skills than the other children from growing up on an island.
"Have you ever considered giving the children to me or having one parent raise one child? That seems fairer." Stefan asked
suddenly as he collected palm leaves.
"What did you say?" Renee thought she had misheard him and looked at him in disbelief.
"T know it's difficult for you to consider, but it is an option.
That way, they'll have both a father and a mother.
You won't have to find them another father then.
What do you think?" Stefan explained reasonably.
He seemed indifferent, but he was actually quite bothered when Renee suggested finding a new father for the children.
He knew he had no right to meddle in her plans, so after some deliberation, he came up with what he felt was a fair compromise.
Stefan's words, however, did nothing but enrage Renee.
"Stefan, how could you even have the nerve to suggest something like that? Do you think you can humiliate me just because I've
tolerated you? " Renee threw the branches on the ground and stormed over to Stefan, looking icy.
"Don't test my patience! I will fight you if it ever comes to that." "IT wasn't trying to humiliate you..." Stefan sounded helpless.
"I just don't want you to find another man to replace me." "Well, you're wrong." Renee chuckled bitterly.
"I'm not trying to replace you with another man—I just think that the children and I need a new patriarch.
Who do you think you are? Do you think you're perfect? Do you think I can't find someone to replace you?" Stefan instantly fell
silent.
Renee's words were hurtful but true— Stefan wasn't a good man, and he had no right to stop her if she wanted to find another
man to replace him.
"Don't even dream of taking any one of the kids!" Renee said firmly, paused briefly, then added, "But I won't stop you from
meeting them.
As for your relationship with them, it depends on you." Even if she hated Stefan, she would not take away her children's right to
spend time with their father.
However, she was confident that their stepfather might surpass their father if she did find one for them.
Meanwhile, away from Stefan and Renee, Abby was panicking.
" Adie? Adie, where are you?"
