Chapter Aaron and Jackson
I was sitting on Abby’s bed, she was currently pacing across the floor mumbling to herself.
“Abby, will you calm down?” I asked. She turned to me, “How can I calm down? My best friend had sex with her mate last night, my best friend who is not yet 18.” She exclaimed. “Jeez you may it sound like I’m 16 and pregnant, my birthday is this Saturday, and I’ll be 18 then. So calm down.” I said.
“Right, you’re right, I just need to breath.” She let out a loud sigh and plopped into the bed next to me.
“So, did you tell Ethan about your birthday?” She asked. I scoffed. “No, and you’re not aloud to tell him either.” I told her. “But why? You’re going to be 18, it’s a big deal!” I laughed lightly. “It’s not that big of a deal, I mean, I’ll be 18 so what?” She stared at me as if I was insane.
“How is it not a big deal? You’re going to be 18.” I sighed. “Exactly. Just please, don’t do anything big.” I begged. She smiled and hugged me, “Alright, if you don’t want anything big, I won’t.” She said. I didn’t believe her at all. I knew she was going to do something, the only problem, I had no idea what she was planning.
“Sorry, but I’ve got to go meet Zach, he wanted to talk to me about something.” Abby said. I looked at her confused as she walked out of the room. Dammit! I bet she’s telling Zach. I sighed and walked out of the room. Well I can guess that in two days, I’m going to be in so much trouble.
I began to wonder the halls of the castle. Not really going anywhere specific. I thought about what would happen on Saturday, today being Thursday, I had two days to find a hiding place. There is no way, that I’m letting her do this to me. The last thing I want, is for a big party, knowing her, she’ll probably invite all of Engor if she could. I sighed softly. Why? Why can’t I ever get away from this kind of thing? I get that it’s my birthday but I’ve always hated big parties. It’s kind of hard when you have a best friends who loves everything big. I noticed someone walking down the hallway, I thought it was Zach. I jogged toward him,
“Hey Zach have you seen-?” The person turned around, that’s when I realized, it wasn’t Zach. It was someone else. He had piercing blue eyes, his blonde hair almost seemed to defy gravity. He had stubble on his chin and seemed to be almost in his twenties. He had on a white shirt with a leather jacket, blue jeans and black boots. He looked me up and down, as if looking me over.
“Hmm, I’m sorry to say, but name is not Zach, it’s Jackson.” He said. “I’m sorry, from behind you just looked like him.” I said. He smiled, “Don’t worry, it’s quite alright, what’s your name?” He asked. “Snow.” He smiled and held out his hand. I took it and he kissed the back of my hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Another man came jogging down the hallway. He had brown hair that was up just like Jackson’s hair. He had sea green eyes, and was wearing a button up black and gray plain shirt, with jeans and converse. He looked younger then Jackson. He looked at me.
“Hello, I’m Aaron, and who might you be?” He asked. “I’m Snow.” He nodded and turned to Jackson. “I can’t find them.” He said. “Can I ask, who are you looking for?” I asked. “No one of importance to you.” Aaron sneered. I rolled my eyes. “We’re looking for Prince Ethan and King Argen.” Jackson said. I smiled, “I take it you are from the vampire coven. They’re waiting for you in the king’s study, I’ll take you there.” I turned and began to walk to the study. I could here Aaron muttering to Jackson.
“Why are we letting a maid help us?” He asked. I smirked. He doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. I put my hand on my chest and as I was walking, Pegasus appeared beside me. She nickered and gently clopped her hooves. I smiled and stroked her mane.
“Hello Pegasus.” She pressed her nose against my cheek and I laughed lightly. She walked beside me and Aaron and Jackson following behind. I saw prince John walking down the hallway towards me. I stopped when he reached me, the boys on either side of me.
“Good morning Snow, we missed you at breakfast this morning.” He greeted me. “I’m sorry, Ethan and I slept a little late this morning.” He smiled. “Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much, where are you headed?” He asked. “I’m taking these two to the king’s study.” I said. He nodded. “Oh, well after that, my mother would like to see you.” He said. “Of course, I’ll see her when I’m done.” I said. “Alright, well I have to meet Zach, I’ll see you later Snow.” He waved and continued to walk down the hallway.
“Are you close to the royal family?” Jackson asked. I nodded, “Yes, I am very close with them all, they’re like my second family.” We reached the king’s study. I nodded to the guards, “Good morning your highness.” The younger one greeted. “Good morning.” They opened the doors and we walked inside. The king and Ethan stood to their feet to greet us. Ethan walked up to me and kissed my forehead. I smiled,
“It seems these two were lost, so I helped them find their way.” The king nodded. “Thank you Snow.” Ethan leaned over and whispered, “I’ll see you later okay.” I smiled and nodded. “Come on Pegasus.” We walked out of the room. As we did, I noticed both Aaron and Jackson watching me. Well, they’re weird. I made my way to where the queen was waiting for me. I walked inside to see my parents were with her. I walked inside the room and sat down. Anna smiled at me and turned to my parents.
“Snow, seeing as in you are the eldest prince’s mate, that would mean that you will become the next queen.” My mom said. “So, because of that you will start your training to become queen.” Anna finished. I groaned, “More training? If I get put in a maze again, I refuse.” I said. Anna laughed. “Don’t worry, it’s not like that. Your training will start next Monday.” I nodded. My parents smiled at me,
“Snow do you have any special plans for Saturday?” My dad asked. I laughed nervously and Anna raised an eyebrow at me. “What’s Saturday?” She asked. “Nothing absolutely nothing.” I know she didn’t believe me, “Oh, it’s her 18 birthday.” My mother said. Anna smiled at me. “Really? How exciting.” She said. “Yes, and I really don’t want a big party.” I said. She smiled. “Don’t worry, I won’t do anything you wouldn’t want to happen.” I smiled and stood. “Thank you.” She smiled and hugged me.
I opened the door and walked into the hallway. I started to head to Jake’s room, when someone called my name. I turned and Jackson was making his way toward me.
“Lost again?” I asked. He smiled. “No, but thanks. I’ve been meaning to ask you, how do you know the royal family?” He asked. We started to walk down the hallway. “Well, I was here for Prince Ethan’s choosing.” I said. “Are you his mate?” He asked. I nodded. “I’m sorry, but I have to go.” He said. I nodded and he rushed down the hallway. I don’t even want to know. A maid walked up to me.
“Excuse me miss? Prince Ethan asked me to escort you to the dinning hall for supper.” She said. I smiled and nodded. “Of course, thank you.” When we reached the dinning hall, the maid walked me inside, when saw me, he stood and walked over to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me. I smiled and walked walked me over to my chair. I looked at the end of the table and saw that Aaron and Jackson had their eyes on me. Their gazes made me uncomfortable and I shifted. I felt Ethan place his hand on my thigh. I looked up at him and he had his gaze on the two.
“So how long are they staying us?” Zach asked. “A few days, a week maybe.” Argen said. I sighed, great a week with them, they’re really starting to freak me out. ”Papillon, are you alright?” Ethan whispered. “I don’t know, those two are really starting to freak me out.” I whispered back. He nodded and stood, walking over to his father. He bent down and whispered something to him. He looked at me and then back at Ethan. He nodded and Ethan walked back over to me.
“Come on, lets go.” He said. I nodded and stood. He intertwined our hands and we walked out of the dinning hall. I could feel their eyes burning into my back as I walked out of the room.
“What’s with them?” I asked. “I have no idea, but if they do anything, I want you to tell me, or Zach.” I said. I nodded. I don’t know what’s the deal with those two, but they’re really starting to freak me out. We walked into the bedroom and I sat on the bed and crossed my legs. Ethan sat beside me, he laid his head in my lap.
“You look tired.” I said. He sighed and I ran a hand through his blonde hair. “This whole thing with the vampire coven is so stressful.” He said. I bent down and kissed his forehead. “I don’t know, but they seem a little bit off to me.” I said. “I don’t know what they want from us, but they better figure out what the hell they want to do.” He muttered. I sighed softly. Is this what it’s going to be like, after we’re married and I become queen? Just becoming a princess was hard enough, and when I become queen, it’ll be even harder. But with Ethan by my side, helping me along the way, I know that it won’t be hard. With him, I know, I’ll always be okay.
