The Tycoon's Deepest Repentance (Sophia and Ryan)

Chapter Deepest Repentance 111

Chapter 103: Are You Coming to Rescue Me?

Dragon Soul is the most elite group of assassins under Mr. Foster.

They are also the most capable subordinates of Mr. Foster.

"Mr. Foster, are you sure you want to send Dragon Soul?" Lance seemed reluctant, furrowing his brows and rare defiance in his tone towards Max. "I believe, this matter doesn't require Dragon Soul's involvement; it's making a mountain out of a molehill." Max gave him a cold, stern look. "I don't trust anyone else."

But, Mr. Foster..." Lance hesitated for a moment, then mustered the courage to express his true thoughts. "Sending Dragon Soul, what if they get posed?"

"Those people already see you as a thorn in their side. If they find out about the vast influence you've developed, the consequences could be disastrous," he earnestly advised. "You've endured in secrecy for so many years, spent years in a wheelchair. Are you going to risk it all for one woman?"

Max lowered his gaze, his eyes dark and mysterious.

After a moment of silence, he calmly said, "I've considered what you've said."

"So, even knowing the risk of exposure, you still want to send Dragon Soul without hesitation?" Lance looked at him helplessly, his expression puzzled.

He understood Mr. Foster's temperament-firm and unwavering.

Once a decision was made, it was rarely shaken.

He knew he probably couldn't persuade him.

Max raised his eyes slightly, his expression cold and impassive. "She's in this predicament because of me. No matter what, I have to ensure her safe return."

"Is it worth it?" Lance no longer dissuaded, just softly asked, "I thought, Mr. Foster, you only favored the young girl from over a decade ago... The lady has just entered the household, and your feelings for her aren't particularly deep. So, is it worth it?" Max also didn't know if it was worth it.

He had told Charlotte that he would protect her from now on, and this whole situation had escalated because of him...

"Go." He didn't want to say much more, just coldly uttered these two words.

The man instinctively closed his eyes, fatigue evident in the crease of his brow.

"Yes," this time, Lance responded decisively.

In the dim dungeon...

Charlotte was immersed in the icy water, her hands still tightly bound by iron chains.

The water had risen to her neck.

The water level was slowly creeping up.

Because they were continuously pouring water into the dungeon, this bone-chilling water was increasing.

At first, it was just at her ankles, but now it had reached her neck.

Soon, they would completely submerge Charlotte.

Even in this environment, Charlotte remained calm.

No struggle, no cries for help.

She appeared remarkably serene,

"Really, you won't say anything?" the man's low, cold voice echoed from outside the dungeon.

Charlotte kept her eyes down, silent.

Suddenly, water cascaded down!

They increased the water pouring, directly submerging Charlotte's head.

Countless water rushed into her nostrils, causing her to furrow her brow involuntarily.

amiliar sensation rushed over her.

At the age of seven, she had fallen into an artificial lake just like this.

The icy lake water, suffocating.

Time had passed, and she was no longer the seven year old Lily but the nineteen-year-old Charlotte,

She had learned to swim and could hold her breath quite well.

However, the feeling of being trapped by water made her body stiffen involuntarily.

Childhood shadows aren't easily erased, after all.

It's all water...

She was alone.

Would there be a brave youth to come to her rescue this time?

Just then-

Outside the dungeon....

"Boss, our secret base has been attacked. The opponent is formidable. We have no idea where this skilled individual came from; our people over there can't hold their ground at all!" Someone hurriedly ran over, delivering urgent news to the man.

The man, incredulous, furrowed his brow, his eyes flashing with sudden anger. "What's going on? Who could it be..."

After a moment's thought, he decided to rush back to the base. After all, the base was much more important than interrogating Charlotte. "I'll go back to the base and take a look. You all stay here." With that, he led a team and left.

As soon as the man left, a group of mysterious figures in black rushed in, overpowering and throwing out everyone left behind!

It was all just a diversion.

Attack their lair first, lure their boss away, and then here-

They could easily break through.

After everyone was cleared out, the figures in black spread out to the sides, leaving a clear path in the middle.

A tall figure walked out slowly from the center.

He had a tall and slender stature, a handsome face, a cold and noble temperament, appearing aloof and indifferent, like a king standing at the highest point. This person was none other than Max Foster.

He was pot in a wheelchair; he stood tall and straight.

His legs were no different from those of a regular person.

Long legs were encased in jet black trousers, with a snow white shirt on top and a casually worn light-colored windbreaker.

Compared to Max in a wheelchair, the Max standing at this moment seemed to exude more charisma and power.

"Open the dungeon and let the water out."

His cold gaze swept towards the pitch black dungeon, and a rare flicker of emotion crossed the man's heart. He immediately commanded his subordinates.

"Yes." The well trained subordinates, accustomed to following Max's every command, immediately rushed towards the dungeon.

Max didn't need to come here and shouldn't have.

But in the end, he decided to personally come and take Charlotte home.

The water slowly receded.

Charlotte's face gradually became visible.

She was pale, her eyes tightly shut, but her mouth seemed to be murmuring something.

Max quickly walked forward and embraced the young girl.

The iron chains on her hands were severed.

Charlotte was lifted by the man, tightly held in his embrace.

It was as if she sensed something, her eyes opening just a tiny slit.

In the dim light, she seemed to faintly see the sharp jawline of the man.

The sensation from twelve years ago suddenly surged within her.

Charlotte's heart trembled, her eyes slightly reddening.

"Is it you?" she murmured softly, her gaze unfocused, her consciousness unclear. "Did you come to rescue me?"

She thought she saw the grown-up youth.

The one who had once saved her life.

Max knew Charlotte's consciousness was muddled at the moment, so he wasn't worried she would recognize him. He simply replied calmly, "Yes, it's

me."

Charlotte reached out, clutching his white shirt tightly. Her heart felt a pang, and she mumbled vaguely, "Is it really you? I've been searching for you.... for twelve years..."

She spoke these words softly and indistinctly. Max didn't catch them clearly. He carried her out of the dungeon and quickly headed for the parking spot.

Charlotte closed her eyes.

Her mind was a chaotic mess.
