Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Hendrix didn't respond to her, and since he said nothing, Levi naturally didn't follow Noelle's instructions, either.
Noelle couldn't help but clench her fists tighter. She knew that Hendrix didn't care about her. In his eyes, she likely had no dignity to begin with, but she still didn't want him to see her in her current state.
It didn't matter if he looked down on her, mocked her, or even despised her like everyone else. She just wanted to maintain her last shred of pride.
At this moment, she just wanted to leave the car with her last bit of dignity left.
But even this small request seemed like something Hendrix couldn't even grant her. Without his word, Levi continued driving forward.
Noelle wanted to say something more, but her phone suddenly rang. The name on the screen... was exactly who she had expected
"Noelle, get back here right now!" Craig's angry voice burst through the phone, breaking the silence in the
car.
Noelle wasn't surprised. She simply hung up the phone and turned her gaze back to Hendrix.
Before she could speak, Hendrix commanded, "To the Swanson residence."
Noelle's heart sank. But soon after, she lowered her gaze and let out a soft laugh. As expected.... he wasn't even willing to leave her with the tiniest bit of dignity.
It was just as well. Back when they got married, the Swansons had surely hidden the truth from him. Though they were divorced now, once the rumors started spreading the next day, his name would inevitably be dragged along through the mud.
This was the kind of thing Hendrix despised the most. So, it made sense that he wanted to confront the Swanson. family.
"Noelle!"
The moment Noelle stepped out of the car, Sandra rushed toward her.
Her sharp eyes immediately spotted Hendrix behind Noelle and she replaced whatever she had intended
to say with, "Rix, why are you here? Did you... bring Noelle here?"
Her gaze shifted toward Noelle as she spoke. There was a hint of fierceness hidden behind her surprised expression.
But without even sparing Sandra a glance, Noelle brushed past her and headed inside.
Sandra tugged on Hendrix's hand. "Rix, don't go in yet. Daddy is furious tonight. I've never seen him so angry before."
Noelle wasn't walking particularly fast, so she naturally heard Sandra's words. But Hendrix noticed that even after hearing them, her footsteps didn't pause in the slightest.
That silhouette, moving toward the light, seemed to be completely unafraid of whatever awaited her. Hendrix's brows furrowed slightly.
Sandra continued to say, "I'm sorry, Rix. In fact, we all knew this was something we shouldn't have kept from you. We should have told you before you and Noelle got married, but she had cried and begged us not to say a word. As her sister, I had no choice.
Chapter 60
"Rix, you... don't blame me, do you?"
Hendrix lowered his head, his gaze resting briefly on Sandra's reddened eyes before answering, "No."
"You bitch!"
As soon as Noelle stepped in the house, Craig slapped her across the face. His strength was much greater than Matilda's. The slap left Noelle's ears ringing, her teeth even loosening slightly, and the metallic taste of blood. spreading in her mouth.
But Craig was still unsatisfied.
After delivering the slap, he picked up a vase beside him and hurled it at Noelle!
