Chapter 282
Chapter 282
Hendrix was seriously asking her the question, but there were no emotions in his eyes, which were staring right at Noelle. There was only coldness in them.
That was the gaze of a wild beast eyeing its prey-a contempt of someone in a higher position looking down on those below.
Noelle's body involuntarily shuddered.
He had disguised himself in front of her for so long. It wasn t until this moment that Noelle realized that Hendrix wasn't some docile dog but a bloodthirsty wolf.
But Noelle quickly regained her composure.
"Hendrix, as the general manager of Amity Group, don't you fear others will laugh at you for making decisions based on emotions while constantly changing your mind?"
"It doesn't matter," Hendrix slowly replied. "After all, no one in the company can control me now, Besides,
the Continental Reach project is too big and risky for you. I have every reason to convince them."
Noelle couldn't find the words, but the hand resting on her lap slowly tightened.
"And then?" Finally, she found her voice again and asked, "You think this will stop me from marrying Dylan? I'll tell you right now, no. I'm still going to marry him!"
Hendrix smiled. Then, he suddenly leaned in.
The distance between them was instantly shortened, and in the cramped space of the car, Noelle felt as though her breath had momentarily stopped. But she quickly snapped back to reality and tried to push him
away.
However, Hendrix quickly grabbed her wrist and said, "It's line. Go ahead and marry him. But Noelle, you need to remember what I said. This is just the beginning. As long as you can bear the consequences, that's all that matters.
His voice was calm, and the gaze he fixed on Noelle was equally cold. His grip on Noelle was tight, like he was going to crush her bones.
Noelle tried to shrug him off. "Let me go! Ouch!"
When Hendrix heard that she was in pain, he quickly let her go.
However, Noelle quickly gave him a slap as well. "Lunatic!
Hendrix's cheeks reddened. But this time, he did not stop her and just looked down.
Noelle felt like she made a mistake by entering his car. She didn't bother saying anything to him anymore
and just got out of the car, in which he did not stop her as well.
Only after Noelle forcefully closed the car door did he slowly lift his eyes.
Noelle had already walked far away. Her figure quickly became a small dot in the mirror before it finally disappeared. Only then did Hendrix belatedly touch his cheek. Then, he said, "Drive."
The driver had been there all along, and when Hendrix's voice came, cold sweat broke out on his back. After a long pause, he finally started the car with shaking hands.
Hendrix didn't mind and just opened his phone.
An invitation message came in. "Tomorrow at 8:00 pm, at the Corin Pier. Different flavors of food will be Chapter 282
prepared. Your invitation key is.....
Hendrix glanced at it, then casually forwarded the invitation to another contact in his address book before deleting the message from his phone, as if the message lingering any longer would stain his eyes.
Then, he made a phone call. "He'll be there tomorrow night. You need to speed up the process. I want to see results within a week."
