Chapter 215
Chapter 215
Hendrix fell silent. His eyes narrowed as he observed her, as though waiting to see how she would handle downing the entire bottle of wine.
Noticing his unspoken approval, Noelle Immediately grabbed the bottle and raised it to her lips. She then poured the entire content straight down her throat.
What no one noticed was that, under the table, Hendrix was clenching his fists tightly.
As soon as Noelle came out of the restroom, I was immediately clear to herself that there was no way she was okay.
The waitress, noticing her unsteady gait, went up to help her. But before she could, Noelle shoved her away and leaned over the nearest trash bin. The next second she found herself retching violently.
A sharp, fiery sensation surged from her stomach, bringing with it bitter bile, all of which she vomited out completely. She hadn't fully recovered from her cough, and now, tears and snot were streaming down her face. Her delicate makeup was ruined beyond repair, leaving her looking utterly disheveled.
"Are you alright? Should I call an ambulance for you?"
The waitress, experienced in such matters, immediately recognized the pallor on Noelle's face and could tell she was in unbearable pain. Just as she was about to make a call Noelle stopped her by pressing her hand down.. "I-I'm fine."" "But-
"Don't worry, I won't faint here," Noelle reassured her, understanding the concern in the waitress' voice. As she spoke, she forced herself to her feet and wobbled unsteadily toward the exit. The high heels she still wore only added to her instability, making each step more precamous. Just as she was about to step into the elevator, she nearly stumbled and fell, but the expected pain never came.
Instead, Noelle was overwhelmed by a different kind of excruciating agony. It felt as though something heavy had struck her head, the pain so sharp and intense that it seemed her skull might explode. Her chest and stomach were just as tormented.
But Noelle didn't know a single soul in this place. If she fell,
uldn't allow herself to collapse here. After all, she who knew where she might wake up tomorrow?
That was why, when a man reached out to steady her, Noelle's first instinct was to push him away. But it seemed as if he had anticipated her every move, as he quickly wrapped his hand around hers and pulled their bodies even
closer.
It was at that moment that Noelle finally saw the man's face clearly. He was none other than Hendrix. Noelle froze for a moment, her alcohol-dazed mind suddenly clearing in that instant. She quickly yanked her hand away from him and staggered backward a few steps. It was as though she couldn't get away from him fast enough.
Looking at her, Hendrix slowly curled his hands into fists.
"Sorry, Mr. Freeman, for interrupting your evening. But I've had my drink, and being the generous man you are, surely you won't hold it against me anymore?" she said with a smile, her cheeks slightly pale and her forehead dripping with cold sweat.

Chapter 215
Hendrix suddenly recalled a year ago, when she wouldn't even say a kind word to him. She was always proud and unwilling to show any vulnerability, especially toward him. Only in certain, rare moments had he seen her fiercer, more combative nature.
But now, she was smiling at him sweetly, as if pleading for him not to hold it against her.
