The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 103

Chapter 103

Noelle and Hendrix had never shared a bed before. No matter how exhausted he left her, she would always remember to return to her own room.

In truth, Noelle had always felt that they weren't really husband and wife. They were more like partners, both in bed and in life.

To Noelle, lying together in the same bed without doing anything was far more intimate than sex. Only people who were truly in love could do that. And she and Hendrix clearly weren't.

Now, she crouched beside the bed, watching him as he slept. She was very familiar with his face. She could clearly picture the sharp lines of his features even with her eyes closed. When she was younger, she had drawn his face more times than she could remember.

Back then, Hendrix, in a crisp white school uniform, had been the center of attention at their school. Then, he grew up. His face became more striking and refined with age. His elegant demeanor only intensified. Noelle always felt worlds apart from him even when he was standing right in front of her. As Noelle lost herself in these thoughts, Hendrix suddenly opened his eyes,

Their gazes met.

Hendrix's brows furrowed instantly, and his sharp, icy stare pierced through her.

Noelle froze for a moment before standing to leave. But just as she turned, Hendrix grabbed her hand and pulled

her down.

She fell against him, her freshly dried hair spilling onto his bare chest. The strands brushed against his skin, causing a faint tickle as she moved.

Hendrix's brows knitted slightly at the sensation. Without a word, he flipped her over, pinning her beneath him

Now, it was Noelle's turn to frown. She let out a soft hiss. "You're pulling my hair!"

Hendrix ignored her and reached for the hem of her shirt, ready to strip it away, but then, he paused as he thought of something

Noelle looked at him in confusion.

A moment later, Hendrix pressed his hand over her eyes. "Go to sleep." His voice was tense, almost rigid.

Noelle suddenly remembered that this place had terrible soundproofing. This realization left her even more baffled as to why Hendrix chose to stay in the first place.

Did he need comfort after uncovering Gerald's secret? She didn't think so.

Noelle didn't claim to truly know Hendrix, but she knew he wasn't one to value family ties.

The idea that he was heartbroken or angry over this secret seemed implausible. However, she didn't press on

Since Hendrix told her to close her eyes and sleep, she would. Her long lashes brushed against his palm as her eyes fluttered shut.

Hendrix's hand stiffened slightly. The faint tickle from her lashes seemed to spread, moving from his chest to his palm, then radiating through his entire body.

Then, Noelle's body froze, and she shifted slightly, trying to put some space between them.

Hendrix's lips pressed into a thin line. He grabbed her hand and pressed it firmly against his lower abdomen,

This time, Noelle's eyes snapped open.

"I thought you said to sleep?" she asked.

Hendrix had a straight face as he guided her hand to pull off the towel wrapped around his waist. "You can sleep," he said flatly.
