Chapter 27
I paid the cab fare as I walked up the stone steps, it was a large ivory covered stone house, with an iron gate, and a light
paneled roof.
It was beautiful, and I smiled at the warm feeling I got as I stepped through the gate, and walked up to the large dark door.
I checked the address to double check that it was right, and sure enough it was.
I knocked on the door, and took a step back waiting as I heard foot steps approaching.
The door opened as a familiar figure approached.
"Annabelle." I breathed.
She had gotten older, her dark brown locks had grey strings at the roots. Her porcelain skin was slightly wrinkled, but her green
eyes were the same vibrant and warm green as I remembered as a child.
She seemed to take me in, and then something clicked. "Grey?" She asked, her bright green eyes watering.
I nodded my head as she pulled me into a strong embrace, wrapping her warmth around me.
After what seemed like forever, she pulled away, a smile plastered on her pale lips.
"You are so beautiful, your hair has gotten redder." She sniffed and wiped away a tear "I tried to find you, when your brothers..."
She cleared her throat. "I traveled to Moscow went to your old house on Ordynka. You weren't there." The tears were dripping
down her face. "Oh what am I saying come on in, before you freeze to death. You know Paris in the winter. Gabriel's inside."
She led me into a warm looking living room lit by a fire, and low-lit-lamps. And I saw Gabriel's aged face sitting by the fire.
His face turned my way, and he dropped his book.
"Grey?"
I smiled and nodded.
He walked over to me and gave me a strong embrace.
"It's been too long child."
I nodded, "It has. Paris has done you well, you've picked up the accent."
He chuckled, "And the language."
Annabelle rested a hand on my shoulder, "You must be starving from your travels, dear. Let's get you washed up, and fed."
She led me upstairs and into a pretty looking guest bedroom, she handed me a fluffy towel and some clothes.
"Dinner's in a half hour, we'll talk then."
I nodded and she left.
After a sweet smelling shower, I dressed into a white blouse and a short high-waist-flower print skirt.
I brushed through my long waist length red hair, and walked down stairs.
I sat down on the dinning table, where I was served light and dark meat, with bread, and vegetables.
"So Grey." Gabriel said, "You came to us for a reason, and that is to be safe from...something. I understand that I can ask certain
questions but not others considering your...situation." He eyed me, giving me the impression that he knew what I had been doing
for the past five years, and maybe even the situation I'm in with the Mafia.
I cleared my throat, "I just need to be somewhere safe for a little bit."
Annabelle frowned, but didn't say anything.
Gabriel nodded, "You may stay with us for however long you need. Your parents gave us money in case a situation like this was
to happen, so we have more than enough money to care for you."
I frowned, "My parents? They knew something would happen that would cause me to need the safe house?"
Gabriel sighed, "Your father was involved with...the Russian Mafia, being the blood born Russian he was, you mother preferred
to stay out of it. But I think we all know that once your involved with the Mafia, there is no way out."
I nodded understandingly.
He continued, "You father wasn't just in the Mafia, he was the Mafia, the Russian mob-boss leader. You being the daughter, he
knew that there were many many people that wanted to do him harm which more than likely involved doing you harm, so he set
up a safe house system for you and your...brothers."
I swallowed and nodded. The information wasn't all new to me, but still made me just re-think everything twice.

We finished eating, and I walked up the stairs, and yawned. Even though it was only like 9:00 I was still really tired, probably
because my sleeping scheduled was all messed up.
I tucked into the soft blue comforter of the guest bedroom, and closed my eyes to thoughts of Sin...

SINS POV
Nikolai stood in front of me his white blond hair perfectly combed, and his shirt crisp and clean.
His flesh wound had practically healed, and he didn't need a sling or anything. Just clean bandages. Grey had really done a
great job.
Grey...
"Where is she?" I asked, "I told you to trail her. What did you find?"
He cleared his throat, "She was cornered by the Italians at around 3:30 a.m. We thought about intervening, but she seemed to
have it under control seeing as she killed one man, knocked one out, and made Viktor run away like the fucking pussy he is."
I nodded, and motioned for him to continue.
"She then got on the 335 Flight to Paris France, my men got on the flight six rows behind her and followed her to this address."
He handed me a piece of paper with an address on it "I suppose it's a kind of safe house for her. Annabelle and Gabriel Moreau
live there. They were friends of Grey's parents, so my top guess is that they are in fact a safe house for her."
I nodded as I listened to him, "I want her back here ."
He nodded, "I understand perfectly, I'll take Xavier and my men. We'll leave tonight."
I frowned, "Xavier? Why do you need to take him with you?"
"Friendly face, him and Grey seemed to get along well. Maybe her seeing him would make her come more easily."
I nodded, she didn't like Xavier like...that, did she?
I mean if she did there would be no doubt that he would like her, I mean she's gorgeous, and intelligent, and most of the time
sweet.
"Okay, leave now. Keep me updated, on your word I'll be there in a second." I said with a sharp nod.
"Okay." He said as he turned and began walking away.
"Oh and Nikolai?"
He turned, "Yes?"
"Be careful with her." I said sharply.
"I would never not. Bye Sin, I'll call you when we land." He said as he shut the door behind him.
See you soon Grey.
