Chapter 116
The doctor finally finished his procedures and turned to Judson, his voice trembling slightly. "Mr. Buchanan, although there's an antidote for Lust, it can't fully cure it. The best remedy is physical contact..."
Judson's face was serious as he nodded in acknowledgment.
With that, the doctor quietly left the room, closing the door softly behind him.
The large room fell quiet again. Judson watched Nancy as she slept restlessly, her brow slightly furrowed. His eyes held a deep, thoughtful look.
Gently, he placed a warm hand on her cheek, murmuring, "Nancy, you little heartbreaker, sleeping so peacefully. What am I supposed to do with you?"
Nancy unconsciously nuzzled against his hand, prompting Judson to stand abruptly. He lit a calming lavender-scented candle to soothe the room.
After ensuring Nancy was deep in sleep, Judson picked up his phone and stepped outside, letting the cold breeze clear his thoughts.
When Michael answered the call, he was clearly taken aback. "Hey, Jud, you done already? The night's not even over yet!"
Judson's face darkened. "Are you asking for a beating?"
Michael sensed something was off. "Wait a minute, you didn't... you didn't even touch her, did you?"
"Cut the nonsense," Judson snapped, his irritation mounting. "Has the Allen family started pushing back?" "They've started, but it's not doing much. Lucy's photos have gone completely viral."
Michael swiftly changed the subject. "Oh, by the way, after you and Nancy left, Baldrick and Lenard showed up. They took Susan with them."
Judson's eyes narrowed dangerously, a cold smile playing on his lips as something clicked in his mind. Michael chuckled knowingly. "Judson, it seems Baldrick's got his eyes on Nancy too. If he starts digging into our connections, want me to handle it?"
"No need," Judson replied, his gaze cutting like a knife. "Just make sure he never shows his face in Ardenweald again after the show."
He wouldn't tolerate a rival lingering around for too long.
Judson wasn't the only one who had a sleepless night.
Meanwhile, at the Allen family estate...
Smack-
Before Lucy could react, a sharp slap landed across her face, sending her sprawling to the floor. Furious, she looked up at her father. "How could you hit me, Dad?"
"How could I not?" Albert seethed, his eyes blazing with anger. "You've brought disgrace to our family!"
Just then, a young man entered the room, bearing a striking resemblance to Lucy.
"Father, getting angry now won't help," the young man said, helping Lucy to her feet.
"Brother." Lucy looked at Hackett, her voice choked with tears. "What should I do? My naked photos are
all over the internet, and there are even videos."
Hackett's expression was grave. "Lucy, do you know who's behind this?"
Michael's cunning face flashed in Lucy's mind, filling her with a sense of dread.
"It's Michael, a ruthless player from the Ferguson family who'd stop at nothing."
As Hackett spoke, Lucy felt the color drain from her face. "You mean... Michael?! The one who controls all the underground networks in Ardenweald..."
"Yes, and he's ordered the trending topic to stay up."
Hackett's gaze was inscrutable. "But that's not even the worst of it."
Both Lucy and Albert turned to Hackett in alarm. "What's worse than this?"
"The CEO of Evergreen Global was present, so Neil has ordered a complete boycott of the Allen family," Hackett replied, his eyes dark and intense. "Lucy, you've really stepped in it this time."
The CEO of Evergreen Global. A powerhouse from the legendary Green family!
He held so much power that his slightest move could send ripples through Ardenweald, compelling even the Queen to take heed.
Lucy's face turned ghostly pale. "Why... why would Mr. Green stick his neck out for Lena, of all people?!" Albert's face was just as ashen. "Hackett, do you have any solutions?"
"There is one way," Hackett said, his eyes gleaming with steely determination. "But Lena would have to cooperate.
Reading the intent on Hackett's face, Albert and Lucy exchanged a knowing look.
Lucy clenched her fists tightly. Just wait, she wouldn't let Lena off the hook so easily.
Nancy didn't know how long she had slept when she finally opened her eyes, groggy and disoriented.
Before she could fully awaken, a familiar warm presence pressed against her back, and the comforting scent of pine lingered in the air.
A voice, full of affection and a hint of laughter, whispered, "Morning, sweetheart."
